ambience of the hotel room, breakfast and bed excellent. It is a shame that the restaurant was not promoted better on outside of the hotel or inside especially sunday lunches this needs to be greatly improved

unfortunately the bathroom was not up to standard, I think a safety issue. The shower you could not open if you tried it hit the sink and also the bathroom handle stopped the screen opening. It was poorly built and equipped. I having had a knee replacement and another poorly knee i had difficulty getting in the bath I had to hold onto the two handles within the bath I could not get out so my husband helped me. Bath towels were wet in the morning because only had a rail to dry them needed a heated rail.. No shelf to put your things

I believe I was misled by pictures on booking.com as I was expecting a traditional quirky art deco room as advertised instead we received a modern room which was no better than premier inn . So I was disappointed having booked over 12 months ago that this happened. Booking.com should state clearly which room is available since you have the option to ‘select room’ . Paying for what I received was rather expensive. Diane at reception did offer to change to a room that I wanted but we had already unpacked . This should not have happened.

I liked the style of the hotel outside gave me feeling of a vintage style like the Jeeves and Wooster vibe the furniture carried on into the reception with the seating area dinning room and bar had the same vibe to was looking forward to seeing my room by this point

After seeing the lobby and bar and restaurant I got excited to see my room opened the door and was kind of disheartened my room was like the room I stopped in at the Novotel the week before don't get me wrong the room was bright clean tidy had the norm items you tenned to find in a 4 star hotel now weather the suite are like what I hoped my room was I don't know it's a definite I will be going again to find out this isn't a bad review and I hope you don't see it like that

The bed was a little uncomfortable with a big dip in the matress room 202 There needed to be background music playing instead of a small radio on top of the reception desk for a large hotel reception The tables were very small for 4 people to eat around we had to put bottles of wine on the floor to make room We were by the lift which was noisy

This was our second stay at The Earl of Doncaster, so we expected exactly what we got; a retro modern environment, with great food and a warm welcome. The rooms have their own unique characteristics so every stay does feel that little bit different. We will definitely be trying a more expensive suite to see if we're missing out on anything, however all that is needed for a impromptu getaway is available in the "basic" rooms!

We came at a busier time than our last visit, so staff were preoccuppied with other tasks. This is not at all to say the staff weren't fantastic but that The Earl could definitely benefit with more staff at peak times.

We were struck immediately on entering the hotel with its Art Deco theme. This was so different and truly amazing. We received a warm welcome from the receptionist, which was much appreciated. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with good facilities. The food was well prepared and presented. Throughout the staff were friendly and helpful which made our stay the more enjoyable. The hotel is ideally situated for the local sites and amenities. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

No issues come to mind.

The room was good and the breakfasts were excellent. Being used to sleeping on a memory foam mattress we find other types uncomfortable but were still able to get a good nights sleep.

I appreciate that it is probably because of health and safety reasons but would have preferred to sleep with the window open. The shower head was low and meant that I had to stoop down to use it.

Very friendly reception who let us check in slightly early as it was Races day. Helpful and gave us a list of taxi services as well. Room was clean extremely spacious, nice amenities. The cleaning staff were polite and friendly. We did eat in the restaurant which I would also recommend! Lovely food and fabulous wait staff. Overall extremely pleasant and would use again.

It was very expensive, likely due to it being Race's weekend however something to consider.

Wonderfully decked out hotel, with lots of attention to art deco details. Extremely comfortable beds and the room was a great size.

The hotel staff were wonderful, but the attached restaurant staff were a bit unwelcoming, I think they wanted an early night but we rolled up for dinner a bit later (8pm) and they were slow to engage even though they were standing around. Not a big issue at all, once we got them to engage they were polite and helpful.

The hotel is lovely. Room was clean and very comfortable with an extra large bed. Breakfast was amazing. Cold buffet and a great selection of hot choices cooked to order. Staff are lovely, especially the ladies in the dining room. The day of the race meeting was moved due to the death of the queen and the lady on reception very helpfully changed our booking to accomodate this.

I do think it's a little expensive. I paid £350 for 2 nights B&B. I know we were there for the St Leger race meeting, but even so... Also I think that the room could have benefited from a vanity mirror or some brighter lights. I washed my hair, but could hardly see to dry and style it as there are only lamps in the room and none near the mirror
