I stayed overnight at the Crown enroute to Dartmoor. It was the perfect stop and I'll definitely be staying again. There is plenty to discover around the Crown and worth staying at least a couple of nights. Located just off the motorway (I didn't hear traffic from the motorway) its perfect to stop on your travels. The room and bed was very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. All of the staff I met were welcoming and friendly. I had an evening meal which was great, cooked perfectly. I had a cooked breakfast which was fresh and set me up for the day.
There was nothing I didn't like

The room (8) was clean, bed was very comfortable and the room well equipped with the essentials, tea, coffee, milk, hairdryer, tv. The cooked breakfast was very good. The mega mixed grill was such good value I had it both evenings. Excellent quality meat too. Not an extensive menu but a good choice to cater for all tastes. The staff were amazing, polite, friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely happy in thier jobs. Excellent location.
There was quite a noise from the adjoining cupboard / room which sounded like some sort of fan or vent that kicked in every hour or so but not a real pain so as to stop me sleeping. The open and tilt mechanism door leading to the balcony was broken when we arrived and had come off the runner/hinge at the bottom. The manager said he would report it to the maintenance team. We didn't need to access the balcony at all so not a real problem.

Clean but very basic accommodation. Only half a mile from M5 which makes it very convenient for an overnight stop on a long journey. Staff friendly & helpful, plenty of parking space. At £45 a night represented decent value for an overnight stop, but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.
Room only had skylights & no proper windows. Wanted a double bed but was given a twin. Was told they could push the beds together & give me a double duvet, but then said there were no double duvets spare. Also had to ask for towels as there were none in the room. Kettle & cups in room, but no tea or coffee provided Food on offer is cheap, but very much freezer to fryer or microwave.

Staff were very welcoming and our room was very clean and comfortable. A small balcony was an added bonus especially as it was warm. We have no complaints and would highly recommend a stay at the Crown as it was good value for money.
We booked a table for evening meal and there was a wait of about 1 hour 10 for our food. However, this was due to staff shortages and the staff that were present were apologetic and very friendly and professional. The food was amazing (the steak was perfection) so was most definately worth the wait!

I was on my way back from Central Wales to Essex and wanted to stop over for the night. I had a double-room and all was good. Parking was fine and check-in was fine. The check-in was at the main bar and was very friendly. The room was very comfortable - coffee and tea making facilities a god-send. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. I had dinner here - nothing special to rave about; standard fayre but okay and reasonably priced. I also had a few beers - again, all okay. I didn't bother with breakfast as I wanted to 'get going' in the morning. This would have been an extra charge so I didn't miss out on anything. The hotel is on a main road with side-road access to the hotel parking. Parking was good with plenty of other parking available if the hotel car-park was full. For me, this place was great for a comfortable overnight stay without having to leave the building.
All was good for me.

It was a comfortable pub with en suite rooms. My room and bathroom were perfect for my needs.. not posh but clean, spacious and functional. The staff were lovely and always helpful. The bar and eating areas were comfortable and quiet.. it was mid week. My friends had a few niggles with their rooms but they were dealt with promptly. Lots of parking.
We only ate breakfast there. The full breakfasts were excellent and they had vegetarian options and accomodated gluten free. .service was a bit slow, considering it was very quiet.. they were accommodating and friendly at all times. We had a bit of trouble finding it. Not pub related.. but taxis are very expensive in the area!

The bed is really comfortable. Staff are lovely and, as it was super weather, having my evening meal in the garden was a bonus. Perfect location for the Stables Business Centre which is less than 5 minutes in the car / 10 minute walk
It was really hot so windows had to be open. Road is noisy if you are staying in the front of the hotel. Wouldn't stop me from staying there again though - it isn't often that is it that hot in the UK!

Overnight stay to break our journey south. Made to feel very welcome. Efficient check in and easy to access the room. Pub and public areas all very clean. Good selection of drinks and coffee. Food was very good and well cooked, we had the burger deal including a drink for just over £11. Excellent full English breakfast before we left. Would certainly stay again and recommend for anyone looking to stay in the area or break their journey
No issues.

Great place. The location was good for us, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good.
Our roon only had sky light windows, which didn't have blinds, and we're dirty. They were left open, and it was raining heavily left for much longer, and the beds that are situated directly underneath would have got wet. The food was good other than our apple crumble was cold when should have been warm.

Stay is due too social and work which being close to the M5 its a great place to stay. The room was great, had good control of the temperature which at -1 was handy, nothing worse than a room you cant get hot enough. Staff were great and bought me an iron etc for my needs.
The pub was a bit chilly and had to leave my coat on while having a drink on the Sunday evening. It was a very quiet place all weekend which isn't a bad thing in terms of service.
