Very impressive, large beautiful hotel with extensive grounds where you can take lovely walks. Loved the bar and terrace overlooking the large lawn where you can have drinks and afternoon tea. Breakfast in the lovely restaurant had a good selection of continental and cooked to order options. Loved the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which was tasty and well presented. Room was attractive.

There is no lift in the hotel so you have to negotiate a few stairs to reach the the upper floors. Our room(superior) was quite some distance from the reception too and the corridors are labyrinthine ...easy to get a bit lost! Then this is probably the nature of an old hotel such as this. Anyone with mobility issues should definitely book a ground floor room. Room was fine with beautiful artwork on the wall and attractive lighting but we noticed dust on a bedside table. Also grout in the bathroom was a bit discoloured which surprised me given the standard of the hotel. Only one of the two shower heads worked well. The bed was also somewhat soft for us but this is obviously a personal preference.

Where to begin?! The actual old building is stunning, full of character. The room was utter luxury with attention to the little details that made all the difference. Quiet too. The bed was huge, the decor beautiful. Proper glasses and mugs, and quality toiletries. Cosy lush chairs and woolly blankets for extra comfort. Loved the online tablet messaging service. Large sink. Huge amount of storage and surface space in the bathroom. Fluffy towels. Proper latched windows. Velvety curtains I couldn't stop stroking, haha. Incredibly polite and friendly staff. We had to kill some time after checking out, before our 'coffee and cake' table was available. So we took a stroll around the grounds, enjoyed the crickets and the lovely wild areas. Scones and tea could not be faulted either. Just a beautiful environment.

Can't think of anything! We just wished we could stay all week! ;)

Lovely room breakfast and dinner really nice staff brilliant attentive and all needs were met Really lovely hotel would recommend to everybody

Due to mobility issues I asked for ground floor which is what we got but it was just about the furthest from reception and dining room I did ask if anything closer and we were shown a room but it was only a double and not a superior like the one we were booked in so we did decline but they did make an effort to accommodate us the receptionist was very good and polite about it so if you have mobility problems also state that a room closer to reception would be helpful and also a walk in shower

We last stayed here several times some years ago, before the hotel changed hands, and we always loved it. It's even better now. It's been beautifully updated, while retaining its traditional ethos, and the gardens are glorious. The staff are fantastic - so kind, welcoming and helpful. Our room was very stylish and had a comfortable bed. The Herefordshire beef steaks were superb! Breakfast was excellent. Easy parking.

Why do they stop taking orders for dinner as early as 8.30pm? I had to do an author event at Harvington Hall, and it was very stressful worrying if we'd be back in time to eat. They did say we could order up to 8.45pm. We did it with a minute to spare. I would have appreciated face flannels and bathrobes in the room.

As soon as I walked through the door, I felt welcome. Everything was immaculate from the reception all the way up to the room. I stayed as a little birthday treat for myself. Room was clean, comfortable and just gorgeous. Bathroom was spotless, the bath was perfect and the shower pressure was brilliant. Had my evening meal and my breakfast in my room. Service was excellent, food was amazing. Felt so relaxed and chilled out. Next time I treat myself to a night on my own, I’m going to add a treatment or 2 in the spa.

My only complaint was that I asked for a burger without cheese. As it was room service, I didn’t want to bother anyone again so I just scraped as much of it off as I could and then it was fine.

I loved the location of the hotel, it was easy to get to, plenty of parking and the grounds were lovely. The actual atmosphere of the hotel was welcoming as I entered the reception and the staff member at the desk was great. Check-in was slick and I was in my room within minutes. It was unfortunate that the part of the hotel I was in was really very warm, there was a small fan but with the summer weather, it was almost unbearable. The guests next door were watching TV and it was very loud. After an hour or so of trying to sleep, I mentioned both things to reception and without question, they checked for other available rooms in the hotel and luckily for me there was one available. I was moved to a cooler and quieter room and my bags were collected and bought to my room. I had booked the room at the last minute after a very busy weekend with family and needed some quiet time so it was wonderful to get that.

I liked everything about the hotel. There was one member of staff on reception as I was checking out that was a little short and not friendly but otherwise all good.

Good spacious rooms with nice bathrooms. Relaxing and pretty grounds. Ample parking. It is used as a very popular venue for weddings and the like, so often a lot of people there having fun. I think it gives it a very friendly feeling. Staff are very relaxed, laid back and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and a lovely view from my room.

I don’t think there is anything I didn’t like. I have stayed there before and it’s my favourite hotel in the area. Usually, someone is celebrating something there so the Bar is always lively.

Receptionist was excellent. First hotel to deal with our needs regarding hearing loss, in a pleasant but professional manner & ask us to fill in PEP, before we had to say anything. Food was very good.

Had lunch date at venue. Mentioned this as a courtesy on booking - arrival 12.15 for that, mentioned in 'any' other, along with hearing loss issue, not arrival time!! Email dealt with request ? automatically saying it would cost extra £30 to deal with 'our early arrival' request!

Lovely room but no view. Staff polite.very comfy bed. Lovely grounds, and hotel very attractive.

Nice room but no view. Towels could have been cleaner. Food average. Very noisy large group in the restaurant so spoiled our romantic anniversary dinner. Couldn't charge drinks to room. Need to pay as you go at bar etc seemed unnecessary especially as reception had card details and room already paid in full. Lack of trust.

Beautiful building and grounds. Staff very friendly, particularly those serving/managing breakfast. Food was excellent and vegan and vegetarians well catered for.

Although allowing dogs, the charge of £30 extra a night was excessive and although we had a ground floor room the only exit except for emergencies was via the reception which because of the size of the property was a long walk when our dog needed to go out in the night
