Large comfortable room although looking a little jaded. We had a lovely big bed. Great that they have a bin for recycling too.

Our room was such a long way from reception, restaurant and bar. Anyone less able than us would definitely have struggled. I have to say also that the breakfast selection was average at most. The cold Continental buffet had some cheese slices, a couple of slices of cold meat, a pew pieces of Brie and that was it. While we were there this didn't get replenished, so there were many other people who couldn't have a Continental breakfast. As for the hot section, there was hard greasy fried eggs, sausages, hash browns, beans and undercooked, fatty and odd coloured bacon. No mushrooms, no tomatoes, no black pudding. I ended up having to ask for scrambled eggs as everything else looked unedible.

The hotel was welcoming on arrival, Chloe on reception was lovely and helpful checking us in. Parking is £11 for the cost of the room it would have been nice to have been free, but we got a free drink each if we signed up to their loyalty scheme which was a nice touch and this allowed you an additional 10% off drinks and food in the bar. The bar was nice and all the seating areas was well maintained, I noted the hotel offered happy hour in the bar 12-2pm and 5-7pm and has a lovely outdoor seating area. The family room was great with 2 double beds, seating area and 2 Tv’s ample area for me and 2 teen girls. Hairdryer, iron, The Works shampoo, conditioner & shower gel in the bathroom. Tea & coffee and giant Biscoff biscuits. Great location just minutes walk from the city centre

Parking see notes above

The room was spacious and very clean. Wifi worked well as I did some work whilst I stayed. Any requests I made were accommodated whether they were by catering staff, reception, or room cleaning staff.

Vegetarian options for breakfast could have been better displayed as there weren’t many visible for the cooked breakfast. I asked the catering staff and they were very helpful each morning in getting me food to order so compliments to them and the chef. Perhaps a menu detailing all options not available immediately at the breakfast bar could be useful, alongside a clearer selection of teas.

Got there early and were happy to wait till our room was ready, however the receptionist made a wee call and upgraded us to a king suite and was given a key even though we were early. Our room had a massive comfy bed and was to the rear of the hotel overlooking the car park which was quiet, considering the hotel is on a busy road. The hotel is ideally suited for finding as you come into Durham by car and within east walk to the castle and cathedral with plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep.

Breakfast although a decent selection the food was slightly on the cold side but tasty nonetheless.

Lovely location, really friendly staff, nice room and easy to park and pay for parking. Overall really nice place with tons of local restaurants and attractions a stones throw away from everything in the city! Really lovely for a weekend break.

Not really their fault - but the restaurant was fully booked so we went elsewhere but there were so many options around that it wasn't really a bother at all. Breakfast was good but when we went for the buffet-style breakfast there were a few empty containers for the food that hadn't been refilled so we didn't get to have any sausages but the rest of the breakfast was of a fine standard and enjoyable!

Good location, clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

The main drawback is the lack of a decent restaurant. Not a massive problem, as there are plenty of places to eat nearby. There is food available in the bar, but it is dreadful: overpriced, tiny portions and not very nice. It’s a shame because it lets the rest of the hotel down. However, they were good enough to comp the meal after I complained about it, so no harm done.

Room location was good - overlooked river. It was a long walk through maze of corridors to get there, well described by reception however. Room compliments were fine. Large double double suited our family. Beds spotless and quality bedding. Shower very good. Air/con heating/TV etc as you'd expect. Was more like a suite than a room.

Decor rather boring and drab. Bed a bit too soft. A few more teabags would have been good (there were 5 for three of us!). Also only two bottles of water between 3! I'm sure we could have asked for more. Road noise would be worse in other aspect rooms, quite bad even for us.

With the Great North Run that weekend, all hotels were asking more than double their usual rate. So decided to pay for the luxury of a Delta hotel for the same price, and so glad we did! Cheerful welcoming staff, and oh what a gorgeous room! Everything one could wish for in a beautiful room, and could've quire easily stayed in it all night rather than attend the night out we'd travelled for. Whenever we are in Durham again, I will book this room, absolutely perfect!

Wouldn't change a thing.

We liked the position of the hotel being ideal for walking either up to town or beautiful river walks. The booking process was very easy. The staff on reception were very welcoming and informative. Our room requirements were met.The bed was comfortable and nice room. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and the staff were very attentive. All in all our stay was very nice and would certainly stay again.

We were a little disappointed that we had to pay for the hotel car park.I should have read the small print. There was nothing to dislike really.

Excellent comfortable room, a great nights sleep and close to the city centre to explore and visit favourite restaurants. Facilities are clean, well presented and there is a great feeling of luxury about the place. Staff were courteous and professional.

Lack of plug sockets near the bed to charge devices. The breakfast was ok, but as it was busy so you had to make a few trips to get what you wanted as hot foods were not kept "topped up" to meet the number of diners. Fine if you are a tourist but not if you have work to go to.
