So Central in town. Loved the big room and bath. heaters worked well. Magic looking out at the snow on the second day.

Weekend noise from bands downstairs but it was only one night.

I was given a top level room initially. I am 77 and disabled through cancer and found it very difficult. I was transferred to the lowest level the following day as soon as a room became available. The staff couldn't have been kinder and put themselves out to make me comfortable. Carly was especially helpful and apologetic.

There was nothing to dislike. It was my second visit this year. The first was to attend the funeral of a very old friend, whose Wake was held at the hotel. I fully intend making further visits this year.

We were in the area for the cricket and this hotel was ideally situated, a 15mins walk to the ground. Parking at the hotel was a bonus and being a pub as well meant a drink and meal on hand and breakfast in the morning all available on site. A really good amenities tray in the room, coffee, tea and hot chocolate along with biscuits.

There was only a hand soap dispenser above sink in bathroom and not in the shower which in unusual these days. The remote for tv was hit and miss for working, maybe batteries needed checking and no cover on them didn't help.

Staff welcome was brilliant. Barmaid took us upstairs to room. explained the keys and showed us doors in and out for coming back to room later. Friendly and polite with a smile on her face. And later in night the doorstaff were polite when explaining it was time at the bar. soon as we said we were staying upstairs they told us we could take drinks upstairs rather than drinking off quick.

Nothing. Room is at front of the bar overlooking the high street so some noise during the night and early morning but thats to be expected due to location. Cant be helped.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. We were given a very warm welcome. The location was good for venturing into the nearby city of Durham - and significantly cheaper than any hotel options in Durham. The room was large and so was the en-suite. Breakfast in the pub was made-to-order. It was reasonably priced and of a very high standard. I can highly recommend The Lambton Arms for those looking for a reasonably priced visit, in a good location and with friendly staff. Car-parking was free. Exceptional value for money.

The room and bathroom were a little tired.

The location was fantastic for us as it is close to the train station and a good bus network. The breakfast was really good and very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was dated but then again it is an old coaching house and I like the charm of it. Spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed. Stayed here as we were going to Beamish open air museum for the day but the location is also perfect for visits to Durham and Newcastle.

There wasn't anything I didn't like

My third stay at the Lambton Arms. Always good value for money. This time I stayed in the Cavalier room which is a large room (its essentially a double room) so as I was a solo traveller I had loads of room. Good shower. Clean bathroom/bedroom. Perfectly located for the cricket. Just a 15 minute walk to Durham CCC. Friendly staff at the Lambton. Will definitely stay here again.

Nothing really. A minor gripe - but only minor. Although there was a soap dispenser by the sink in the bathroom, there wasn't one near the bath/shower. This wasn't an issue for me though as I had my own soap anyway.

Central to where we needed to be, staff good, breakfast ( 2 for £10) was excellent and the breakfast chef was so cheerful. The room was a budget double, but was huge. A king size bed, tea/ coffee and biscuit hospitality tray. Dated bathroom and shower over bath but plenty of hot water, nice towels and a lovely warm room . Great for a night or two .

Our room had light coloured thin curtains which let the light in. We were in a front room overlooking the main street and street lights right outside the room . We arrived back from our night out and thought they may be a blind to pull down to stop the light, but the thin curtains were the only option. The room was therefore not dark to go to sleep and could be better with thicker curtains to block out the street lights .

Free car parking at the back when you get a notice to put in your car on you check in. Excellent friendly staff. Access to bedrooms via a staircase to the rear of property. Bedroom was large, bathroom bigger than a lot of bedrooms in other properties. All usual facilities, all of which worked. Comfortable bed. Bar food available. Well priced for standard.

Nothing particularly but: Room although perfectly functional could do with a refresh & fixture update. This would then warrant an additional prpn. No aircon could be uncomfortable in hot weather. Staircase not suitble for all clients

The staff attitude, friendliness and helpfulness was excellent. Food was excellent, good value with generous portions. The room was a good size with armchairs and a coffee table in addition to the usual desk and chair and had an effective heating system (which was needed.)

The room could've been cleaner (dust webs by the radiator control.) The room decor was rather tired and the tv remote had gone missing. Used cups weren't replaced with fresh ones.
