Mostly all went as expected.

There was no orange juice for breakfast on the last two days of my stay this also happened on a similar vocation at the same time of year. I understand that the hotel closes down on the 2nd of January but don't understand who orange juice could was not purchased from Tesco which is inly a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There were other guests asking about orange juice.

Came here for one night for my mums birthday. Had a twin room on the second floor with a view of the car park, but we didn't mind that as we come to Exmouth all the time. The room was spacious and clean with everything you would need for one night. The bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished. Plenty of choice of channels on the TV.

There was a gap of about 2 inches on the bottom of the door which wasn't ideal. Not only did it let a lot of light and noise in through the night from the hallway but also, if there was a fire, the door would be deemed useless.

The hotel is first class, with excellent staff in all departments. I feel at home there and can really relax. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are only too willing to help with your requirements. The breakfasts are excellent with a variety of food. I had dinner in the restaurant, and my meal was excellent. The hotel has an excellent chef who produces the most wonderful dishes. The management and reception staff have been such a great help to me. I would not hesitate to recommend the Imperial Hotel for short or long stays. I can't wait to return in the near future. Thank you very much. David Hezzell

Having to leave after 3 days,

Exceptionally clean in room..comfy and homely staff friendly uniquely walked in one evening someone playing piano was like stepped back in time. Location is amazing few minutes to beach or town and resterants perfect for we needed bonus dogs welcome if you wish take them watch out for the muti amount of squirrels om the grounds my dog woulda thought all his xmas come at once if we would of taken him. 😀 Bath was lovely

If i had say anything it be the rattling lift nut i dont like lifts anyways The loudness of doors when other guest entered their rooms cause old building doors heavy maybe Breakfast with just a option of just continental would be great .we didn't eat in restaurant so can't comment on taste or value etc.

Only stayed in the standard double, good room with everything you needed. Great breakfast which is good value if booked in advance. Great location, easy walking distance to the beach and the town centre.

Hotel is looking a little tired. You get glimpses of what it would have been like in it's hayday. Probably very difficult for the Hotel to make money in the winter, so good luck to them. Didn't stay in for an evening meal as a little pricey for us but the pictures looked great. Room was great just old looking as radiators were not working so electric heaters were in the room which worked fine.

The room was comfortable and warm. Breakfast was ok. Sausages and bacon were nice. Tomatoe was too hard to eat and only scrambled eggs ( I prefer fried) and was a little watery, but tasted ok. Unfortunately, someone in a room was smoking pot, and it stunk, but the staff seemed to sort it out. It was great to have the car park and could stay until 3 pm the next day. Staff were friendly. Dog friendly but not allowed in the restaurant. It is a shame as we felt l little cast off in another room at breakfast but allowed in other areas of the hotel. Would we stay again? Yes, we would but a double room as they only had a twin on booking.com and maybe a sea view.

We particularly liked the good lights above the beds for reading - something that's not always the case, even in expensive hotels! Staff were helpful in getting the rugby on the TV in the bar for me to watch until our room was ready.

Our room wasn't quite ready by 3.00.pm and staff insisted on doing unecessary things, like hoovering. I don't blame the staff, who were by & large brilliant, but who obviously had too much to do in the time. Usually I'd like a simple radio and no TV, though it was handy for watching the Six Nations rugby during our stay - the only thig I ever watch on TV!

Brilliant location for Exmouth, Exeter, Topsham, beach, walking, cafes etc Quiet but in the thick of things, lovely outlook and plentiful parking. Close to main driving routes. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice, all the fresh fruit and the nut and seed mix was an excellent touch. We didn’t try the restaurant for dinner because we already had plans but we thought it seemed fairly priced. Nice collection of pictures and letters from bygone times and lots of maps for walking/ public transport and things to do.

Breakfast coffee could have been hotter. We didn’t need music playing in the restaurant at breakfast but this applies to all cafes and restaurants these days.

Staff were excellent from Michael at reception, Rosie in the restaurant and Victoria in Housekeeping.

Attention is needed as the hotel is tired and needs some work. E.g. some guttering had come apart on the balcony, curtains not properly hung, no luggage rank in the room. The room was big but needed stronger lights. Some painting is needed, and alterations to the balcony not properly finished off. TV remote where battery is held together with tape attached the photograph wasn't expecting that. Overall, the staff was courteous, polite, and professional, which made us forget the other negatives.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and approachable. Our room was basic but it was very clean. At breakfast there was a very good choice of cereals, fresh fruits and breads. The cooked option was good with additional choices of eggs and fish. Ingredients were of a good quality. Hotel was close to the venue that we were visiting.

Our room was basic and a bit outdated. However it was clean and comfortable. One or two areas like the entrance/foyer and stairs need some attention. However, it is a large hotel and we do appreciate that it must take a lot to maintain on a daily basis.
