The Euro Hostel is located centrally: the bus and train stations are between 5-10 min walk away. I found the staff very cheerful and helpful and they were always ready to give some advice about excursions, city walks etc. The room was practically furbished with bed (2 bunks), sink, private bathroom, tv, desk/chair and a heater. the window could be partly opened. As being in the city centre the traffic was audible. i found the room rather clean (maybe not in the darker corners behind the bath room door) and bedlinen and towels were provided. The common kitchen was huge and super clean. I liked especially that there was a pub with pub grub connected to the hostel where a buffet style breakfast was available in the mornings.

The doors to the rooms could only be closed with a bang which made ear plugs at night a nice-to-have thing. The doors themselves were not noise-insulated and you could hear any word that was spoken in the corridor.

Located in the heart of Glasgow. Check-in process is quick and easy. I booked a single room but they gave me a quadruple - that is not a problem as I was staying alone anyway. There is a heater in the room - so i slept comfortable in the bad weather :)

Beware that they take a copy of your credit card upon registration process to fire you in case you smoked in the room. I am not a smoker and found 2-3 cigarettes trash in the window from previous guests. After informing reception they came and take this trash out and i made myself secured of any "fake" fire as I read in reviews.

All rooms were very spacious, lots of sockets on the beds, the sitting room was very nice, lots of seating and a large tv and a fridge it was perfect for us to have pre drinks and a few games before going out. Lots or mirrors Vip perks - bar available after hours through the reception, luggage storage available after checkout for £1 per case, smoking secret garden beside the room.

The smell when you enter the suite was like a damp smell, so everytime you left any room you smelt the awful smell, fortunately the smell wasn’t in the rooms just the corridor, the mattress was not comfortable, only 1 thin pillow per bed and the duvet was also very thin. In the bedroom there was a constant red light flickering, I can only assume it was a fire alarm, it caused a few to struggle to sleep because it was very close to some of the beds.

Great location, clean room and bathroom, everything needed available and comfortable, nice and helpful staff, no issues with checking in or out, awesome quality for the price, I never choose any other place to stay when I come to Glasgow

The only two small things - I think lights turning out automatically in bathrooms should take a little longer cause it gets annoying while taking a shower; I understand it's energy saving but just a couple mins more. Second might have been just an issue with my room (or me not knowing how to use them :)) but I couldn't close the window completely and noise from outside was waking me up. That's all

The location was fantastic - easy access to public transport. The check in and check out process were smooth. I particularly enjoyed having access to Netflix in the room. Basic amenities were provided such as toiletries and communal kitchen. Laundry room and luggage storage facilities were also available but I did not need to utilise these during my stay.

WiFi is only available in the lower floors and the signal did not adequately reach my room on 7th floor. I booked a single room with a bunk bed for myself one week before my stay so it was not cheap and I cannot really comment on the value for money. The walls were quite thin so I could hear raucous laughter from the room next door close to midnight but fortunately they did not continue being loud for too long.

Perfect location. It is very cost-effective. It is very good to have such accommodation near the station for this price. Facing a river, very beautiful scenery. There are supermarkets, stations and shopping malls within a five-minute walk, and there are many restaurants. The front desk staff are very friendly.

Although there is free wi-fi, the signal is the same as not having one. In the end, you still need to use your own phone’s network. Don't expect too much from its free wi-fi. During the stay, the fire alarm went off and everyone ran downstairs. The sound insulation is very poor, you can clearly hear someone slamming the door outside the door, which lasted almost the whole night. The restroom is very clean but there is always a smell. The wash basin is too thin and water is all over the floor when I wash my hands.

I stayed in a 4 bed female dormitory on the 9th floor which I used the lift to get to than use the stairs. I checked in at 11am which was an extra £5 which I let them know the day beforehand which was handy to be able to do due to getting to Glasgow early in the morning. I like the fact that the toilet & shower were both separate from each other rather than together. The shower is very quiet so doesn’t disturb those also staying in the room. Each bed also came with a towel so I didn’t have to use all the ones I brought with me. The kitchen for guests to use was very well equipped and clean. The lounge for guests was very big with plenty of seating. The hostel is in a brilliant location in the city centre, close to shopping malls, food shops/takeaways and near central station and on the river front.

I felt the floor in the room could have been a bit cleaner as there was dust underneath the bunks as it’s were I stored my suitcase. There are only 2 lockers in the room when I feel there should be 4 (1 for each person). There was a couple of stains on one of the sheets. If you would like to have breakfast it isn’t available until 8am which wasn’t ideal due to I had to be out each day I was there before 7:30am for the trips/events I was going to. Might be worth having it start from 7am instead.

The privacy, our own en suite bathroom and the walls seemed to be fairly soundproof, heard nothing and also got no complaints (we were truthfully a bit loud still coming down from the buzz of seeing our favourite artist at the 02). The vending machines were so cheap, vapes were £5 each at reception, bar/reception staff were very kind and nobody batted an eye at us ordering in our own food. It was so easy to check in and out, check out only took 2 minutes maximum.

The only thing I can think of is that the mattress was a bit firm for my liking but of course that is personal preference. They also didn't accept monzo cards to hold on their system but that is something I also understand and therefore can't be annoyed about.

April 2023

April 2023, rm 806, breakfast staff were excellent even when having to handle hordes of Polish students who were relatively well mannered. I wish they would have had Lorne (square) sausage. The desk staff always pleasantly greeted me whenever we met. Mackenzie was particularly an excellent representative of the EU Hostel Glasgow. I will always return to the EU Hostel Glasgow whenever I can. Thanks again.

I requested the Champions league match to be put on the TV in the bar. But the insolent bartender with the dyed blond hairdo informed me that someone had earlier requested a Scottish lower division match and he declared “ I’m not going to change it” even though the person who had made the request had left. I would still have had a few beers if I had managed to catch blondie between his frequent cigarette breaks. There was no one else in the bar and I knew why. The bartender the night before was excellent, and I enjoyed watching the match that evening.

The location is great -- practically everything is close except the west end, which was no problem for me (love me a good walk). Staff was incredibly welcoming in helpful, made me feel safe and at home. 10/10 would stay here again. The breakfast was great an quite diverse for the price, real English breakfast available.

The shower was quite tiny and there was no drinkable water coming from the tap in the room. This can ofc be solved by buying a few giant bottles of water from the nearby Lidl (only cost 39p per bottle), but it's a slight disappointment.
