We recently stayed at the Clayton Hotel in Glasgow, and this hotel deserves a perfect 10/10 rating for its outstanding qualities that left a lasting impression on us. First and foremost, the location of the hotel is simply unbeatable. Situated right in the heart of the city center, it provided convenient access to all the major attractions, restaurants, and shops. The vibrant energy of Glasgow was right at our doorstep, making our stay even more enjoyable. We loved the spectacular view we had from our room. Overlooking the river, the scenery was nothing short of mesmerizing. This stunning view added a touch of magic to our stay. Furthermore, the Clayton Hotel exceeded expectations when it came to cleanliness. Our room was immaculate, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the entire property. The housekeeping staff should be commended for their dedication to maintaining a pristine environment for the guests. One aspect that truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. When we mentioned to them that my wife experiences headaches from air conditioning, they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They promptly offered us a different room with a window that could be opened, allowing for natural ventilation. Their attentiveness and willingness to ensure our comfort were truly remarkable and greatly appreciated.

The only minor downsides we encountered during our stay at the Clayton Hotel was that the beds were slightly shorter than expected, resulting in our feet extending beyond the edge and the blankets provided were a bit too thick for the season, given our visit in the middle of May.

Lovely new hotel on the Clyde riverside. Convenient for access to shops, theatre, hydro etc. Beds were very comfortable and the room was spotless.

On returning from a concert at 23.05pm, we were informed that it was last orders at the bar. Whilst we were served a drink, other guests who came in a little later (apparently also from the concert) were refused, and the bar was then closed.

Convenient location, Morden facilities and stylish deco at lobby, waiting areas and rooms. Great views over the river and city. Helpful and kind hearted stuff though a tiny bit stiff to start with but willing to help whenever needed.

The rooms are slightly too compact. Difficult to find a spot in hotel front to unload the bags especially traveling with a toddler. Hotel’s tips and discounts of Q- park are useful but it would be helpful if we were warned not to park in the similar named car park nearby. We stayed for two nights and prepaid the Q- park but parked our car in the wrong car park the first night without realising until our car was stopped by the automated barrier. We had to sort out the problem on the spot and ended up pay extra £20+ on parking.

Clean and it is near the subway station Buffet breakfast is good. Good view of the bridge from my room.

The room is rather small. There is no one to help you with the luggage. You have to lift the luggage down a flight of stairs in order to get to the elevator. They should set up at least a ramp. It will be hard for anyone who has mobility issue or with arthritis. The female front desk receptionists are a bit curt and not very friendly. They seemed annoyed and impatient with all my questioning. The male receptionist, who I think is the manager, is excellent and super helpful.

I had a fantastic experience staying in this hotel room! The decor was modern and tasteful, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. One of the standout features was the stunning view from the room. I could see the city skyline, and the river, which was especially beautiful at night. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The location was perfect, just few minutes walk from the main shopping street and the central station. Also St. Enoch Shopping mall is just right at the corner. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel room to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and I can't wait to return for another visit!

There is no fridge in the room. I stayed in the 7th floor of the west wing which had a terrace lounge in the same floor just next to our room. This lounge has night parties almost every night which was noisy and crowded. I will make sure not to stay in the same floor next time. The way from the entrance to the west wing lifts is little far with few stairs and lot of doors to open 🙃

Great location and a great manager Martin, who was very helpful. Great views from the hotel. Very close to the train and bus station. Can't really fault this one. Would love to come back again.

Not much to dislike about this hotel. A couple of suggestions- 1. Access to the lift from reception could be looked into, esp if guests have got heavy luggage. 2. Explaining the need to sign the disclaimer form to use the gym could be explained at check-in. 3. Similarly, explaining that porridge can be ordered at breakfast could have been explained on day 1. (The porridge comes in a stunning bowl though :-) )

Outlook over river. Comfortable, quiet room. Perfectly cooked fish and chips in bar. Good breakfast except no porridge. Convenient for Glasgow Central station, metro and city centre

Uninspired restaurant meal my first night. No porridge for breakfast. The extra layer of admin produced by the need to 'check in': I was fully busy, staying with family before my arrival, didn't want to have to bother with emails but finally felt I must because as more emails arrived I began to get the impression my reservation actually depended on this 'check in 'process. I had to miss my final breakfast as my next travel time had been brought forward, and my substitute 'breakfast bag' contained a yoghurt, a banana and the same chocolate caramel wafer as provided in the rooms, horribly sweet for any time of day but specially for breakfast. Bedroom had open shelving rather than drawers.

Location excellent within short walking distance of bus stops, Central Train station, eateries and shops. View over Clyde excellent. Clean and safe area. Bed extremely comfortable and good living space for a short while. Clean and fresh.

For my length of stay (11 nights) with family, I would have really appreciated a bar fridge to store basics (milk-chocolate-water-juice) even at an additional cost. I have stayed in previous Glasgow hotels with a communal microwave and ice machine on each floor which was well appreciated as eating out with a family for lengthy stays can be costly. At an additional fee is fair.

Loved it - sightly on the pricier side but as someone who was stuck in Glasgow due to the air traffic issue, the hotel was showing in a great location which made it easy to find and access. Turns out it was really close to all amenities including shops, cultural grounds and restaurants. Perfect location!

The air con somehow wouldn't go higher than 24°C but the room never felt like 24°C so was warmer to just switch it off. Not a big deal so didn't raise this as it wasn't freezing cold but can see it being an issue in the middle of winter as I couldn't get the room warmed up but the duvet did the trick as it was just soft and snuggly.

This hotel is well located right on the Clyde and minutes walk from Glasgow Central and not far from the airport. It is always immaculately clean. Some of the rooms offer scenic views of Glasgow in all its finery. What stands out are the staff like Emma, Sandra, Lesley and Sofia. They could not be more friendly and accommodating. This is my 3rd time staying and it did not disappoint. Breakfast also offered a great selection. 10/10. I'll be back

Offering room service and perhaps having fridges in the rooms might be a nice added touch. But I think the hotel is trying to be more sustainable.
