Usually, a big point for improvement is the breakfast....the breakfast here was very good though, laid out well and plenty of room. Semi canteen style. Strange high energy Jazz playing though...perhaps a little too much for that early in the morning. Room (standard double) reasonable price for the size. Very clean. Everything worked and nothing was tatty or shabby.
Milk in room was UHT blisters....its 2023! Ample room for a mini fridge....also a good place for the complimentary water! I know it was quite busy, but some of the staff didn't look like they wanted to be there.....though interactions were smiley and positive. I've stayed here a few times over the years, I always wonder why the entrance to the hotel from the Station concourse has never been tarted up a little. It does not look like the entrance to a 4 star hotel.

Clean and comfortable room with friendly staff. The location is right at the city centre with direct access to the central train station with many eateries and convenient stores around. For those who drive, NCP carpark is connected to the train station and the 5th floor of the car park can go directly into the train station platform. By showing the parking ticket to the train station staff, it is very easy to access the car park. The hotel offers discount coupons for overnight parking. Carpark to the hotel via the train station is fully sheltered. Breakfast has a good selection of food. Highly recommended.

Everything. This grand old hotel has been recently and beautifully refurbished keeping its heritage and charm intact. Large room with double height ceilings, lovely bathroom, excellent bedding. The staff were so accommodating and helpful in resolving an issue I had. Special thank you to Mark in Concierge. The hotels lounge is one of the nicest I have been in with its beautiful domed ceiling. Louis a member of the wait team in the lounge was friendly, truly interested in us as tourists and his customer. The location is in the heart of downtown Glasgow. Treat yourself and stay here
Not a thing!!!

Very nice hotel, room was cleaned every day. Comfortable bed, soft pillows. Breakfast was enough, but the same everyday (for long stays it might be an issue). The hotel is just right to the Central station, so location is quite good, but it also might cause some noise issue. For me, everything was alright, though.
It would have been better to have a proper wardrobe in the room, not just hangers by the door. Breakfast arrangements was quite strange, as for example you had to queue for the hot meal (eggs, bacon, etc), even though they were not prepared individually by request, but available at the buffet and just put on plate for you by chef. Otherwise, all was good.

Grand old hotel, beautifully renovated and in a perfect location for arriving at and departing from Central Station. The room was compact but perfectly comfortable and well sound-proofed against loud rubbish music from the bars below on Hope Street. The breakfast was very tasty and it was particularly impressive (in this "post-Covid" age) that they had staff to serve the hot buffet food to guests, rather than loads of different people handling the same spoons etc.
Despite a prominent sign in the bathroom entreating us to leave our towels on the rails/hooks for re-use in order to "protect the environment" - which we did - our towels were changed overnight on a 2-night stay, which we considered very wasteful and ecologically unsound. What is the point of having a policy like that - which sounds/looks good - if it is not actually implemented?! At £200+ per night for a standard double room, I consider the hotel somewhat overpriced.

The location was wonderful as I could hop on a train so easily. The Champagne Bar was excellent. The conceive were so helpful during my two stays. The ease of getting a taxi was also appreciated very much.
I stayed in the same room two time and my phone never did work. That just was no sorted. A small suggestion would be to change the menu every 2-3 days. I do like eating in the hotel I’m staying in.

Rooms well equipped and thought out, nice and clean. Reception staff excellent, Bat Girl greeted us! The only negative was breakfast- the staff were running around like headless chickens and nothing actually got done. There was no bread at our small servery near our table, we asked if there was any- were told they would check and we heard nothing ! No sweeteners on the table- we asked for some and we’re told that it was pot luck if some were in the pots on the tables. Cooked breakfast was lovely, however by the time I had filled my plate the bread had ran out at the other servery too. I approached one of the waitress and asked for some, she came back empty handed! I approached the suited gent and explained. I asked for 1 slice of brown, he brought me 2 x white 🙄. I gave up at that point. Breakfast area where we were seated also dingy and uninviting. Would stay again but most likely have breakfast elsewhere.

Fantastic hotel in a superb central location. Staff were brilliant (in particular Mark the concierge), we loved Champagne Central (for both food and drinks), the room was spotlessly clean (thanks to Barbara), breakfast is awesome and the room was very comfortable. For a central hotel in Glasgow I doubt the Grand Central can be beaten.
There was nothing we disliked about the hotel. The only change we will make next time is to travel by train - only due to the council introducing ULEZ charges this summer (which will deter many visitors).

Beautifully decorated and the perfect location. We just had to wheel our cases onto the concourse, which was extremely convenient, and it’s perfectly situated for the city centre. The breakfasts were wonderful, with a huge choice. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The bedrooms were immaculate and very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable.
It would have been nice to have been able to have dinner in the hotel, but the only food apart from breakfast is bar snacks. We would also have liked a comfortable lounge to sit in other than the bar.

the location was great. the staff exceptional. our room was comfortable, and clean.
what we didn’t like, was outside the hotel property, the surrounding area was very dirty. filthy actually. cigarette butts every where. trash, etc. I think the local council should hire street cleaners, to make the area more appealing to tourists. other than that…the hop of hop off city bus tour we took, took us to suburb areas of the city, which was appealing to us.
