The hotel is very new. The room was clean, a bit smaller than expected, with a comfortable bed and good shower. We came to Glasgow to celebrate my birthday and I was welcomed by lovely bday wishes and balloons in the room which was a very nice touch. Great location: it’s 10 mins away from the station and a short uber ride away from the museums and good restaurants.

AC regulator didn’t seem to work so the room was a bit warm. There are only basic toiletries in the room like handwash and shampoo but anything else (dental kit, vanity kit etc) had to be ordered through room service, which I found a bit strange for 5 stars. Double yellow line in front of the entrance so ordering taxis is a bit stressful because they cannot stop there.

Loved the Smeg fridge. Bed was very comfortable with great linen. Staff nicely diverse with warm Glasweigian style. Loved the art and the glasses. Loved miniature of Buckfast. The minibar prices said there was Irn Bru but none in our fridge. It is essential to show Scottish style so these were nice touches. Didn't appreciate union jacks on sugar. It's a petty point I know but important to stress scottish nature of hotel rather than UK blandness.

Only 4 milk sachets not enough and was the kind that spurts the milk out. 2 lifts not adequate and stairs had a sign implying were only for emergencies. We were on 3rd floor and would happily have used them to avoid lifts. Would have liked small notice of minibar prices. Turned out prices were on TV but we usually wouldn't switch TV on. Nice little pad but pen would have been nice touch. Small tin of water inadequate. Some non alcohol beer would be a nice touch. Toilet seat loose and grout in shower already discolured after a month.

the staff (megan) was fantastic, everybody welcoming. the location - walking distance (10 mins) to the centre and the bars the shower - seat in the shower is a win. products - all the products you need are available the bed was extremely comfy the overall look of the hotel was nice

the TV - the smart room functions were glitchy and slow room service - just wish it stayed available to later in the night

Brand-new hotel, central location, fantastic dining/bar areas. Room was spotless and quite spacious (even though we stayed in a standard one). Great mini bar selection at reasonable prices. Late check-out was a massive plus!

Staff were lovely but a a bit too keen to help at times (to our liking), might be due to the fact of being recently opened. Chased final invoice three times.

The rooms and hotel were absolutely beautiful, so many little details added as well, and the staff were just exceptional, we stayed on the 2nd of September to the 3rd, so all the staff working those days thank you so much for making our stay amazing.

Fab location and soooo clean! Staff were fab and the bars are really cool with good vibes.

A lot of facilities aren’t open yet and we weren’t made aware of this (fitness centre)

No ventilation in the room, understandable as it’s a high rise block , but non opening ventilation in the windows should have been thought of in the new design . It’s either air con when it’s hot or a sauna there is no middle ground as it was this weekend

Fantastic breakfast menu and nice continental for on the go. Great lunch an dinner options. The cocktails are Amazing…bespoke for Virgin by the best mixologist in the UK!

Loved all the Scottish touches. And the Arran soap was delightful.

Too many staff waiting to greet, felt a little bombarded when arriving back to the hotel. One on the door should be enough, not 4. Just a preference though.

a very easily corrected issue it was utterly boiling in the room. we should have asked to change rooms as they would’ve done I’m sure, but we were so tired
