Location was good for us Wanted to be near to Glasgow but not in the city itself. Facilities in the room were good but I did need more air in the heatwave and found it difficult not to be able to open a window - though I could see the security issue. Then I registered that the fan had been given for that very purpose! The breakfast was one of the best I have had in many experiences of B and Bs. Everything that a Scottish Breakfast should offer And the staff were exceptional too Would certainly stay there again

Staff were exceptional. Late arrival met with pleasant mannered reception. Check-in and check-out was relaxed. Easy parking. Quiet Breakfast delivered to my room was a highlight- best Full Scottish I’ve had in a good while. Served with a smile. Genuinely retro, the hotel could easily utilise the classic mid-century vibe but swapping out certain furniture pieces with durable vintage items at modest cost. The result would be a likely unique selling point, as the style of the building is crying out for sympathetic presentation highlighting the retro vibe.

Access to end side sockets was difficult. Sockets were centrally located behind the headboard. No usb charge points I could find Beginning to look tired.

I liked the decor..the fact the rooms were on the ground floor.staff friendly welcoming and very helpful..because you have to get a bus ir train to central glasgow..the reception ladiy helped with times etc.. The hotel is very close to bus stop and train station. I didnt see a disabled entrace to train station..so i struggled with the stairs and there are a lot of stairs..saying that i didnt think to ask or look..so my own fault..maybe email hotel if you book to ask them..hotel was wheelchair friendly.decir is lovely.very clean.hairdryer tea, coffee, kettle and iron in room.bed comfy. We didnt have food.. The hotel has an outside area to eat and drink.good value for money. It not a big hotel but it nice..has a bar and restaurant. There was a wedding when we went but we didnt hear any noise in our room.

There were no views .but that didnt bother us.it more maybe for some one visiting .it has trains running past it. You can see then from the window but there are trees and bushes that help disguise that so it not too bad.. we are used to noise so trains didnt put us off..and it was only in the morning and last train we heard..

we didn't have breakfast at all during out stay. room was fine...bed had been separated into twin and one was a bit lumpy and creaked quite a lot because of that. we had dinner one night in bar area and it was fine, fish n chips...batter was quite soggy, chips were great... we tried to have a drink in bar on friday night but there was a quiz on and we couldn't get a seat unfortunately so stayed in room, the other bar was closed to a private function.. rooms front facing i found very noisy with cars going along street all night!!! i would get back facing room nxt time, i didnt sleep much on first night and bought earplugs for rest of stay...

noise from road, go for back rooms and not front. couldnt get into bar area on friday night as it was a pub quiz and very busy.

Cosy and personable place, with convenient restaurant/bar and good WiFi, rooms with private bathroom. Convenient location, with bus stop literally in front of the place and train station only a minute walk away as well as free car park. Friendly staff throughout and at desk 24/7, plus very nice authentic Scottish breakfast

Being near the train station is convenient, though occasionally noisy. Not sure if there were laundry facilities

The room was well away from the bar which could be a bit noisy(or was that just 'lively'?) The smaller lounge area was better for meals because it was quieter. The food was very good although the menu was fairly limited.

Service could be a little slow with staff often nowhere to be seen and no bells etc to summon attention. In particular breakfast, although well cooked, took an age - almost an hour on the first day, 45 minutes on the second. I'm used to hotel breakfasts being slick, in and out in 30 minutes max.

The room was well decorated, comfortable and clean-well equipped. good size bathroom and shower. all built on a single level which is great for older visitors or families with young children. plenty of room to park. bar and dining facilities were excellent and good value for money. All staff we came in contact with were very welcoming, friendly, helpful. strongly recommend this hotel.

Our only niggle was the mattress on the bed was soft and we both usually sleep on a firm mattress.

Well I am very familiar with the hotel as I used to live round the corner before I moved to England so to me it was like coming home 🥹. This is a 2 star hotel with the service of a 5 star. The staff bent over backwards to help, from housekeeping to bar staff to reception and the food was absolutely delicious. Always served within 10 minutes of ordering, to my room and always hot. I was travelling solo this time so had everything to my room which I’m not even sure if they did room service but they were so accommodating with me. It was a very hot week when I was there and they were more than happy to bring jugs of ice to my room for my drinks anytime I asked. Even the night ported would go to the kitchen and get it for me after 10pm. No frills rooms but spotlessly clean and beds and pillows so comfy. Lovely bathroom. I have no criticism of this hotel at all. Thank you Burnside Hotel for making my trip back home so comfortable.

Nothing apart from the black and silver decor in the rooms, very 80’s 😆. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Very good location for me. Excellent parking facilities. Disabled friendly. Staff super helpful and attentive. Breakfast was very well cooked and presented. Spotlessly clean.

Room 3 was a little small for manoeuvring my wheelchair bound sister. Bathroom didn’t have grab b handles.

Staff were so nice and helpful couldn’t do enough for you , breakfast was amazing great value for money , great location rooms were spacious and have everything you need

Mattresses were old and well used the springs were broken leaving the mattress hollow they really need replacing and the constant train until midnight obviously not the hotels fault but had we know we most probably wouldn’t of booked this hotel
