Very clean room and very nice friendly staff, been a while since I stayed but I think the chap was called Martin and he was very helpful in pointing in the right direction of the gym and attractions in town. I stayed twice in the end as work went on longer than expected and I booked on the day to get another room. The first room was deluxe and had a lovely coffee machine in the room which was superb, second night I wasn’t so lucky and had a standard room but this was also very comfortable and both showers were amazing, great pressure and spacious, just no coffee machine! But this wasn’t a problem as it was still a very comfortable room

The hotel was situated perfectly, it was walking distance from Grantham Town centre but yet far enough away not to hear any noise at night. We stayed from a Friday night to a Sunday. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. They have a nice little bar that's cosy and friendly. We didn't eat there as food is only available during the week, this isn't a problem either as there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Breakfast is available if you require it. The room was cosy and warm. The beds were lovely and comfortable. We had 2 single beds. The bathroom was clean, and there was plenty of hot water and towels.

Nothing to dislike.

Comfortable clean room very well equipped. Breakfast was excellent with choice of cereals fish fruit yogurt and juice, also tea coffee and pastries. Selection of preserves for toast after cooked breakfast for which there was a good selection and food was cooked to order and arrived hot and very tasty. Hotel very close to town centre but on a fairly quiet side road. Staff friendly and helpful. Recent refurbishment has really helped the look and feel of the hotel.

Difficult to think of any improvement! All exceeded our expectations and price was reasonable too - great value for money.

Value for money wise, this venue exceeded my expectations. Parking was on premises and free. Wifi reception was good. Staff went out of their way to help. Bathroom was cramped but adequate, making it great for an overnight stopover. Room comfort was better than some charging three times the price.

Pub/hotel accommodation has the advantage of adequate parking, but can be noisy because of patrons. You have to expect that. The rooms aren’t soundproof. However after an initial flurry of loud chatter when guests arrived back in their rooms after a night out, it stopped. That’s typical of that style of accommodation and worth a couple of minutes disturbed sleep given the price charged. After that it was quiet. No street noise.

The room was a decent size and had all the facilities that I needed, with a desk, tea/coffee making facilities, a wardrobe and a shower en-suite. It was a bonus to have some shower gel in the shower. Although the front desk was not manned all the time, this was not a problem and access was straightforward. Free parking behind the accommodation was nice to have.

Unfortunately, my room was above the public bar and, whilst not super-noisy, there was just enough noise (music bass beat and occasional shouts, etc) until around midnight to stop me going off to sleep. There was also a fancy coffee pod machine in the room but it didn't work, which was disappointing.

I was at a wedding a few miles away & rang the hotel late afternoon to request a late check-in. The woman on the phone was very helpful & gave me the necessary information so I could get in the property late at night, which I was very grateful of. Bed very comfortable, I had a good night's sleep. Spacious room & bathroom with excellent towels. Good selection of teas & coffees in the room too.

The shower was standard but the temperature fluctuated a little. It also had a crack at the bottom & I felt like I was going to go through it if I didn't stand away from the crack (I'm not a heavy man!).

The hotel itself was a great location. It was so close to the centre of Grantham. We were up visiting family and friends locally. The Avenues location made that so incredibly easy to get to. The train station is also within a 10 min walk of the hotel. The hotel staff were very accommodating, we were able to check in early. They allowed us to leave our suitcase with them from around 11am. They then took that up to our room for us. The room itself (we stayed in the family room) was very large. Clean and well presented. The bath and shower both had great water temperatures. The shower had great water pressure. We were able to come and go as we pleased. Everyone we spoke to was very kind and friendly. We will definitely be booking to stay there again. We have regular trips planned. It felt like a home from home. I would also like to add that the bed was so comfortable plenty of pillows and bedding. There was also a fan provided in the room. We also needed a cot which was also provided. Outstanding will definitely be returning. Thank you very much.

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel. The only thing I can say that wasn't really a problem was that the hotel has no lift meaning that we had to take our babies pram up and down the stairs. Although the hotel staff did say we were able to leave it downstairs, we just chose not too.

We stayed in Room 1, which was large and airy. The beds were very comfortable as was the Pillows and Duvet. It has a large bathroom, powerful shower over the bath full of constant hot water. Plenty of tea/coffee in the room and replenished daily. Large Car Park at the rear of the hotel. Picnic tables outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine with a drink from the friendly bar. On arrival after a 3 hour drive Martin made us feel very welcome - Thank You :-)

Not enough light in the room for putting on make-up and the mirror in the bathroom was very up high on the wall.

Very friendly and a nice little bar. They upgraded us because the bigger rooms were available, which we didn't ask, but it seemed a nice thing to do, as the room would have only been empty otherwise.

The outside just looked dilapidated, which would put me off booking if I didn't do it online. Just from the outside looked a bit ruff. The smoking area was falling apart and going green, so It didn't do the place justice. Not really something I didn't like, more of an observation, which I think would make it nicer.

This hotel is in an old building with no lift and narrow stairs. Don’t expect fancy ultra modern design or fittings. However, Martin and his wife Tracy have absolutely maximized it’s potential in the way they run the hotel, the facilities they offer and the friendly welcome they provide, together with great value for money. They offer free private parking with a good degree of security. They provide clean comfortable rooms with all you could ask for, including tea and coffee, fan, smart TV, etc and so many other thoughtful touches. They offer excellent food of an evening. And above all they offer a very friendly welcome. All this was more impressive as Martin was flying solo on our visit whilst his wife was away. We have just stayed in a well known brand chain hotel which was frankly appalling and twice the price run by management who clearly don’t care. The Avenue hotel however is exactly how a hotel should be run.
