A very quirky pub, full of character with well appointed rooms again with loads of character. Room was spotlessly clean with lovely quality toiletries and a good tea tray. Breakfast was exceptional. Our television wasn’t working and we were offered another room which we declined but did enjoy a complementary drink. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The bed in room 3 was terrible, mattress folded in half when slept on and was saved marginally by a very thick mattress topper. However this did not enable a good sleep at all. Mattress needs replacing asap! Such a shame as we would have given a ten otherwise.

Breakfast was great and the lady that looked after us was a credit to the Hotel - friendly and helpful. The staff were all helpful and accommodated our late check-in without issue. Rooms were quirky and individual, with a lot of effort going into the furnishings and finishing touches. We had a large double room with plenty of space, although another member of our party booked the twin room, which was a little tight for space and very dark with little to no natural light, but did not spend much time in there other than to sleep - just not great for getting ready for the wedding we were attending!
The only downside is the lack of parking and the noise early in the morning - but this is a town centre location, so is to be expected I guess.

Great decor, loved all the little quirks! The facilities were good, and everything was spotless. The staff were so nice and went beyond to accommodate us, a group of us were here for a friends wedding close by. Wasn’t bothered by noise whatsoever (not open till late) and had a great sleep. There’s no parking as it’s in town, but there’s lots of places to park only a few mins away - we used sainsburys and paid £10 for the weekend.
Perhaps a tad dark in the rooms, maybe one of the walls or the ceiling could be a lighter colour to lighten it a bit.

The entire pub and hotel was fantastic. It was a little quirky but in a brilliant way. The welcome, check in and escort to the room was really quick, really organised and really smooth! The bedroom itself far exceeded expectations. So clean, so comfortable and so well decorated. The breakfast was excellent too and was delicious and very well presented. Really couldn’t fault the place and would definitely hope to stay again without any hesitation.
There was nothing I didn’t like. The entire trip and stay was perfect

Very quirky , different and fun. Staff very friendly and chatty. You are entering a venue that is out of the norm , but in behaved way. Great for decor ideas!
Nothing. It was a quiet midweek when we stayed and I imagine that the covered courtyard area is a social hub , but obviously quiet when we were there , still useable and not your normal courtyard , but a little less atmosphere as obviously all the outside heaters and lanterns were not on. But it's not that we didn't like it, but that we would have liked it even more....a great place to stay.

Very different in style and feel from the norm. Exceptional helpful and friendly staff. Great value for money
The lack of parking could be an issue for some, however there is a 30 min free parking bay outside the hotel, useful for unloading. Parking in town is plentiful and inexpensive which is good. Understand it is part of the feel of the place, but would have liked a bit more lighting in the room

Second time staying here for work purposes. Lovely place and hotel rooms are fabulous. So cosy with everything you need. Love the fridge with bottled water and fresh milk. Very clean and beds are so comfortable. Only a few rooms here so it’s extremely quiet during the night. They offer breakfast in the morning and the lady who does this is lovely. I think her name is Hayley. Really nice breakfast here. Tip - if you are in a rush in the morning then you can order your breakfast the night before with the staff and then your breakfast will be ready for you at a time you choose. I would definitely stay here again soon. Nice bar area as well with great selection of food available. Note the bar closes early on a Monday around 9pm

Everything! The reception, friendliness of staff and ambience. The quirkiness, music, food were all brilliant. Loved the reclaimed materials concept of furnishings and pictures. There was nothing else we could have wished for. Breakfast was wonderful, locally sourced fresh produce and soooo tasty. Staff are brilliant. We will be back....!!
The only thing I can say is that I am used to a King-Sized bed, and almost felt I might fall off the double-bed a couple of times :-)

Watergate Yard was incredible! Quirky, unique and one of a kind, when I booked I didn't realise I'd booked such an unusual hotel but it was absolutely amazing. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable we'd ever had in a hotel, we slept soundly and woke pain free - we were in room 3. The room and en-suite was spotlessly clean, and I love a hotel that has a mini fridge with fresh milk in for my morning coffee. Breakfast was delicious and staff overall were helpful, friendly and we'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
The only negatives which are really out of the hotels control was no parking - we had to find a 24 hr parking recommended by the hotel and walk with our luggage. Secondly we'd booked here as we were attending a birthday party elsewhere when we got back to Sleaford at 1am there was some drunken violence ongoing in the high street which we had to walk past and I felt unsafe. This was unrelated to the hotel but was a shame - we probably arrived just at the wrong time!

Rooms quirky and love the outdoor space. Loved the real plants in the room. Most of the staff were very friendly - attentative and proactive too. For example, when my parents raised the shower privacy issue, they offered another room for parents to shower, which was thoughtful. Cocktails were tasty!
Room facilities were not accurate e.g. no hair dryer Parking directions are not clear unless you're a local who knows the area. Lack of privacy when showering - although the window is high up, it is all clear and the bamboo blind does not add much value. There are neighbouring properties and an actual blind or frosted windows would be more suitable, as it was too uncomfortable for my parents to shower sadly.
