Matt was a fantastic host, registered our car for parking and checked us in efficiently. Allowed us to check in early too which was a great bonus. Great local knowledge too. We had the sea view suite and it was really great! Tastefully decorated and furnished, as was the rest of the hotel. The view from that room is superb! Had breakfast in the morning and it was equally impressive. The lady who served us (I believe her name is Angie) was really warm, welcoming and attentive. The food (a full English) was of a high standard, used really good quality ingredients and well cooked and presented. If you're visiting Great Yarmouth, I definitely recommend a room at Hotel Ocean!
No bar/restaurant when we stayed. Given the great quality breakfast, I would have been happy to give them some more of my money for dinner and evening drinks!

The decor and location of the hotel is amazing. The staff, hotel owner Tom and his delightful wife couldn't do enough to ensure all guests were catered for. Their local knowledge regarding things to do and visit during our stay together with recommendations of the best restaurants to visit was second to none. All this on top of the fact that Tom and his wife had only completed on the purchase of the hotel just over a week before our stay. For that reason, the restaurant was not fully operational, but I had the pleasure of a sneak preview of their full menu, which will be operational later this week when the new chef starts. The proposed menu looks divine. Breakfast is unbelievable, a great selection to cater for all tastes, I highly recommend the butcher sausages 😋. We are definitely coming back and already we have highly recommended the hotel to our friends.

Excellent Three Night Stay. Matt and Angie, our hosts were most welcoming. Made us feel very relaxed. Nothing to much trouble for them. As our first time in Great Yarmouth they suggested places to visit (Venetian Waterways/Gardens for example) and recommended local restaurants (Othello and Chicos in particular, both of which were only a few metres away from the Ocean) which were excellent. Our Superior Front Facing Room was spacious, clean and had fabulous uninterrupted views onto beach and sea. Room was daily refreshed. Breakfast was first class with quality ingredients. The Ocean deserve their high rating - first class for a small boutique hotel in the best location in Great Yarmouth. We wish Matt and Angie all the best for the future.
Nothing - everything was excellent

In my opinion all hotels pride themselves on their breakfast and I thought this hotel's was exceptional, nobody will be disappointed. The Hotel owner is very amiable and works extremely hard to please his guests as do his staff. The Hotel has been modernised to a high standard and is in the perfect location.
My timing! Unfortunately I booked at the wrong time. My stay was in a period that the hotel was going through transition within the restaurant and bar which resulted with them being closed during my stay. This was a shame as I was very much looking forward to enjoying their wonderfully presented dining room and menu. The road in the front of the hotel had also been closed for a classic car show that attracted large numbers of people which meant parking and unloading suitcases was troublesome. None of this was the fault of the hotel, more like tough luck but it did mean that my stay was not as enjoyable as it should have been.

The breakfast was brilliant, the room was small but fine for the 2 of us. Great location and clean and tidy. The staff were great and so helpful and polite.
Private parking is false information as we had to park on the street, the parking is paid for by the hotel so maybe this is why it's classed as private parking? This is the first thing I look for when booking a hotel as we have an expensive car, so to say I wasn't pleased was an understatement! Also, the light in the room wasn't working when we arrived, but this was sorted out straight away.

The location was brilliant, the room was spacious and very very clean (they even cleaned the back of the tv), we had a sea view and it was definitely worth the extra money. Even the soap dispensers were nice! There are a couple things I didn’t like but I can’t actually fault the hotels efforts. They seem to have done everything within their power to make the stay as good as physically possible.
The memory foam bed was a little soft for my liking but may be preferable to some guests. The parking behind the hotel doesn’t feel very safe although after discussing this with the hotel and that I was going to pay to park elsewhere they were actually able to provide limited parking elsewhere that I was able to use which was great. Unfortunately there were a lot of noisy people in the street. Obviously no fault of the hotel but after an interrupted nights sleep I woke very tired the next day.

Fabulous location right on the sea front close to Britannia Pier. The owners are absolutely lovely and will go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. Breakfasts are perfectly cooked, the place is spotlessly clean and it is almost impossible to find fault. We will definitely stay again.
It was a shame we were just out of high season as the Bistro and bar were closed and it would have been nice to sit outside with a drink and just watch the world go by. This is not a reflection on the hotel in any way though, that was purely down to the time of year we arrived.

Very friendly hosts, exceptionally welcoming. Place was immaculately kept and obviously recently refurbished. High quality hand and shower soaps in a large dispenser so approved of the lack of wastage. Tea, coffee, nice biscuits in room as well as water, iron and good quality hair dryer. Dressing table and mirror actually near the hair dryer plug which is surprisingly rare in a hotel! Comfy bed. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice and full table service, beautifully cooked.
Warning the stairs are steep and it’s quite a few flights to the rooms at the top! A few niggles. The shower rod was a little loose on the wall of one of the rooms, which also only had sidelights rather than an overhead light so my friend found it rather dim for applying make up. Our own room was fine in this respect. Biggest one was that the lounge is closed outside of check in and out times. Our rooms weren’t huge and it would have been really nice to have somewhere to sit late in the evenings, maybe an honesty box for a small bar or similar as no mini bars in rooms. With the restaurant closed out of season, it literally was B&B with no other extras.

The greeting by Dan when we arrived was top service. the room was extremely clean comfortable top quality looked exactly how the pictures showed. The hotel staff especially Morgan were kind informative and kind. was the highlight every morning, a menu with so much choice you can order as much as you want from the whole menu. full English with American style pancakes were delicious.the location was perfect in great Yarmouth. We didn't eat at the hotel as we planned to venture out to Norwich while we was there, the menu looked so appealing and appetizing we will defo eat there when we go back to great Yarmouth. although the season was very quite when we visited the experience of staying at hotel ocean made the weekend visit an experience to brag about to friends and family. If you want to stay somewhere fancy with home comforts then the hotel ocean is definitely a place to stay.

The most amazing hotel, customer service and food. Had a truly wonderful stay here. The hotel decor was stunning and luxurious. Furnished beautifully throughout. The hotel was so clean and maintained to such a high level. The customer service was exceptional. Professional, friendly and all the staff went the extra mile to make each of their customers feel special. Some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced anywhere. The food was just amazing. The dinner in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic and the breakfast the best I’ve ever eaten in a hotel. The quality, presentation was second to none. I cannot fault this hotel in any way. Every aspect was exceptional, in particular the service. We shall certainly be back. Thank you.
