The lady serving breakfast couldn't do enough for all the guests, she was excellent and so friendly. The cooked breakfast was really good. Great heating / air con in the room. The tea making facilities in the room were brilliant. The bathroom was new and modern, boiling hot water. Plenty of pillows, nice bedding. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was great pub food, plenty of it and good value for money
The room was a bit smaller than I expected but it was very well equipped and everything was new and clean. Next time I'll book a bigger room, I think. A coffee machine in the room would have been great. Couldn't really open the blinds as you're looking right into flats opposite.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful; it was far more welcoming than some big chain hotels with plastic smiles. It wasn’t the newest or best equipped in terms of toiletries but do we really need lots of little plastic bottles that get thrown away! However the room was very clean and well kept and the bed comfortable. Despite being on a main road the evening was quiet. Breakfast was simple but delicious with real eggs used for a rich buttery scramble.
A minor thing would be the cleanliness in corridors that you walk through to get to breakfast; it is behind the bar so has high footfall but it was noticeable;y dirty compared to elsewhere nd just took the shine of a little; though it wouldn’t stop me going back.

Everything, perfect location in the middle of a lovely little spot Old Hemel Hempstead a dozen or so bars and restaurants within a few hundred yards, easily walkable by even a wobbly old codger like me. We didn't eat in the Olde King's Head but the menu looked quite temping as did that in the similar pub a few yards further up the street (which has amazing 200 year old French hand painted wall paper of hunting scenes etc.).
Nothing much. Hard to fault anything. There isn't actually any car parking - but there is a car park at one end of the (one way) high street, it's impossible to miss, just go in and park at the far end close as possible to the church and walk up through the church yard straight to the Olde Kings Arms. All of 2 mins walk and unlike most car parks these days it's just pennies to park there and free 6pm to 8am.

Check in and check out were a breeze. I am in within 5 minutes although I was a bit tad early, 2.30pm. Luckily, there was a emergency number I could call and the guy referred me to Brett the manager who checked me in fairly quickly. Although it is a hotel above a pub, I slept like a baby throughout the night. I didn’t give much expectation on breakfast as it is a pub. Surprisingly the egg florentine was so good comparable to Hyatt. The lady who served me was so friendly and bubbly and the total experience was so good which exceeds my expectations. The staff who checked me out also very nice and friendly. Not sure this is a Olde Kings Arm Charm.😆

Easy check in at the bar in the early evening with Ben (Landlord) who was a great host. Shown to our rooms which were good size, comfortable beds and really good size showers. Breakfast was decent with a nice choice of food from the menu and the lad who was on breakfast did a great job looking after us (Sorry I didn't catch his name). Some great history to the place which we enjoyed reading about.
Nothing really of note. There are areas of the room that need paint tidying up but that's it.

Lovely room, comfy bed, good shower pressure. Large towels big enough for my chunky butt. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast and coffee was great. All in all lovely spot on the high street, 100% good value. Assuming I get the job I was interviewing for whilst here, I will 100% be returning!!!
Only negative I can think of (and is very minor) a few spots in the bathroom needed a slightly better clean (grouting needs a clean in the shower, and show doors needs a descale), and a bit of dusting in the bedroom area. Otherwise no issues

Gorgeous character pub with rooms. Fantastic food. Had the best steak ever. Top quality, beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. Room a good size. Lovely bathroom and very comfy bed. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Chelle on breakfast duty is fab. Though no parking on site the nearby by car park is free between 6pm and 8am so no problem when travelling for work. Liked it's on the High Street so interesting to walk around and some nice independent shops.

Location was quiet and really convenient for our trip (Harry Potter world). Room was upgraded due to availability with no extra cost, which was lovely. Facilities were ok but great for the price. Bed was really comfy and all staff were very friendly and accomodating.
Veggie sausages with the breakfast weren't really my thing. Parking was off-site and a bit of a faff as it was a pay and display that was free between 6pm-8am (tickets cancelled at 4am so couldn't pre-pay for 24 hours). But it was cheap enough. I'm nitpicking though it was no real reflection on the hotel at all :)

We arrived very tired after a difficult 3 hour journey as the M25 was partially closed. The staff were very helpful in helping me to find a place to park the car. They gave us a good introduction to the room and found us a suitable table for supper though we hadn't booked. Supper and drinks service was good and friendly. Excellent shower in the bathroom.
Pity they do not have their own car parking. Room small but comfortable. Breakfast service a bit slow.

The hotel, a former coach house that beautifully restored in the charming old town, in good location, parks, bars/ restaurants nearby. Around 30min- walk from the shopping centres. Comfy bed, air con in the room, hairdryer, hospitality tray, nice bathroom with window. Lovely stay for exploring the surrounding area (St Alban eg.) for short stay. Breakfast choice from menu.
One out of two days there was rainy, gloomy so couldn’t go out.
