We stayed for 2 nights. The room was big, very comfortable & clean. We had breakfast both mornings as well as dinner both evenings. The food was excellent, good portions and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful & friendly...thank you Lesley, Gemma & Sue for looking after us. We chose this place as it is only a 6 minute drive from the Harry Potter Warner Brothers studio tour that we'd booked.

We stayed here for 2 night for a birthday trip to London and then the Harry potter studios. We had a brilliant stay. The rooms were quite old fashioned but in a really good way and we had everything we needed for our stay. And then there was the food 😋 we had the best pub meal we've had in years, lamb shank and beef and ale pie, absolutely beautiful. Along with lovely starters and sides and a really decent kids meal. And a sticky toffee pudding to make it well worth the extra calories. Breakfast was really lovely, big and so reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was any trouble. We will definitely stay here om our next trip that way as it was so easy to commute into London. Can't recommend highly enough 🌟

The staff are all lovely and very accommodating, the landlord, waitresses and cleaner work so hard and do a great job. The pub and food is fantastic and great value for money. The beer garden is really nice, great for summer evenings. The rooms are clean and comfortable, baring in mind the building is very old we found the facilities are better then expected, most surprising was the good shower pressure. The beds are extremely comfortable. The location is perfect if you are visiting the Harry Potter tour just a 10 min drive, we also visited legoland just a 35 min drive down the M25. We would definitely stay again.

The rooms don't have room for a wardrobe, however provisions are provided for you to hang your clothes in the open and there are plenty of drawers, not really an issue to be honest.

Friendly helpful staff, great food and a quirky interesting pub/hotel. Lovely little beer garden which was unexpected in the space. Great to have a room with three single beds option

One downside would be the bed comfort and size, all our toes were hanging off the end ! Shower was functional . Window was above bar tables outside who were all smoking so that was drifting into the room and too hot to keep the window shut. Not a problem once smokers left. Breakfast only served from 9 which we missed as leaving earlier, would have been great to get some cereal or toast

It was such a quaint place, very beautiful. The staff were exceptionally obliging and extremely friendly (a taxi driver told us the rude one left finally!) The Dining room and pub seating area was lovely. We ate and relaxed in the back garden which was really comfortable and smart. The food was lovely, good sized portions and a varied menu. We visited Warner Bros Studio and stayed here overnight so no big rush home. It's about a 5-10 minute drive away from the studio. The beds were very comfortable, room a nice size, all clean. There was a kettle, which I hadn't seen on the facilities list, so that was nice too. The trains did run through the night and were a little noisy but getting to sleep wasn't hard. All in all I thought this a very nice venue and would definitely recommend it. So relaxing. (The only thing I would recommend would be adding some better pictures to showcase the really lovely garden, dining room and bar area.)

The location - perfect for what we needed. The building is beautiful! Ordered food and was still waiting an hour later - was given a free drink as an apology. Room was clean, tea and coffee provided. Private bathroom.

Lack of communication between staff. Was checked in and told a tab had been started for the drinks and any food we ordered, and to settle the bill in the morning when we check out. The lady who checked us in then went home. We ordered food and a couple more drinks. We went off for our evening plans, returned and decided to get a drink - was asked to pay the bill there and then which made me feel that they thought we had done a runner and then had the cheek to return! I didn't find the bed very comfortable so I didn't sleep well. We didn't stay for breakfast.

Perfect for as is described and visiting Harry Potter studios. This is not luxury but why people moan about some things I've no idea, when staying in a pub aged at 1642 next to a railway line I feel shouldn't then moan about trains and other facilities or things that are standard for a pub? This frustrates me. It's really reasonably priced and great location for studios M1 and M25 staff lovely food good wholesome & large portions for price. Its clean and comfy. There may be a creak here and there a wonky floor or a noisy tap but I'd expect that quite happily for ehatbwe paid to get oir heads down sonewhere cosy and convenient. I guess it depends what everyone expects but for us it's was just great nothing to moan about here and would defo stay again when in the area for sure thanks 😊

Nothing really TV remote had gone missing but otherwise all was great

The welcome was very friendly, particularly for my 10 year old Harry Potter fan! The room was cosy for the two of us and as advertised. The meals were lovely and good value for money… fantastic chip breakkie

There was very loud music until gone 11pm which sounded like there was a band practicing in the next room. Noise was expected being above a pub however on a week night it was a bit too much. It was sorted very quickly after a call down to the pub

Fantastic friendly staff ,amazing food all cooked in house and very good value. Proper country pub feel to the place. Short hop into London and really enjoyed our stay. Nice clean bathroom with an actual bath not just a shower. I'd stay here again

Would have preferred a double bed not two singles, I thought I'd booked that but beds were comfy. Would have been better if they had headboards too. Some of the carpets were a bit shabby but more than made up for by all the good points.

Pleasant friendly staff. Small pub with only a few rooms so was quiet at night. Breakfast not included but good choice, reasonably priced and good portions. Tea not included but excellent sized portions and good quality and again reasonably priced. Room was cosy and a good size. Would I recommend and stay again, yes I would overall very good value for price paid.

Shower although hot, leaked a little and extract fan did not appear to work and had no outside ventilation. Wobbly hot tap on hand basin.
