Good location. Fairly central but quiet and set in a large garden. Plenty of free parking. Friendly, welcoming staff. Comfortable room, good wifi, good choice at breakfast, and hot items cooked to order.

Service at breakfast was very slow, although the waitress did apologise for the delay and mistakes. It wasn’t particularly busy so I don’t know why there was a problem in the first place. Also, the toast for the poached eggs wasn’t toast but soggy bread. Not good. In the bedroom the coat hangers were so high I could barely reach them. Similarly everything on the top shelf in the bathroom. Shower controls were very stiff - smooth circular knobs are never easy to to manipulate with wet hands!

We had a lovely family Sunday lunch, with attentive staff and delicious food. Good choice at breakfast, with hot breakfasts cooked to order Parking was plentiful and easy Bed and room was comfortable Non slip bath mat provided without having to ask

The pillows were not very firm and left me with a stiff neck The bathroom was strange, with basin very low. I think it may have been intended to be an accessible bathroom, but if so the lack of grab rails in shower/bath tub was surprising. The bar was not manned and very cold

Breakfast initially looked a bit poor but took some muesli, sultanas, blue berries, strawberries and a plan yoghurt and then realised everything was just the best😀. Then a really nice cafe late turned up and the waitress asked what we would like for breakfast! Hot a La carte options included a delicious 3 egg omelette and my wife had smashed avocado with poached egg. Both were just perfect and again clearly the very best of ingredients used 😋.

We were on the first floor by the road and there was a little noise early. No big deal having said.

The rooms were stylish, elegant and beautifully appointed with great view of the grounds and lake. We had 2 garden rooms (for myself and my husband and our daughter and son-in-law). All the rooms are individually styled and although a party was going on the first night, we couldn't hear a thing as the refurbished rooms had been soundproofed. Breakfast and bar food was delicious and the staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. The manager, Roberto, took time to talk to us & share the history of the building. All in all a great stay and we look forward to returning soon.

We had a great stay. The room was warm and quiet, although at the front of the hotel ( Oak) We were greeted and checked in by Adelena who was friendly and professional. Bed was super comfortable, we had a very well equipped room and everything worked! We really liked the combo bath and walk in shower. Loads of soft towels too. Small touches like the USB sockets nr the bed, high quality tea and coffee - all made it a special treat. Breakfast was excellent - all fresh and a very good selection of cold and hot dishes Thank you!

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the park and city centre, perfect for the cathedral, shops and pubs etc. The breakfast was of high quality, the warm dishes are made to order.

It is a beautiful hotel, it is a bit of a shame that it was not possible to walk around the hotels own lake without having to walk through the mud, I personally wished for a path, apart from that, I found everything to be very satisfactory.

The location was good and the setting was stunning. Breakfast on our first morning was excellent….however on the second morning the breakfast tables seemed empty we had to ask for yoghurts and fruit and the juices needed filling but what we did have was lovely. The beds were very comfortable

No lifts…. This was hard walking up 2 flights of stairs with heavy suitcases! However the kind staff assisted us with them on arrival and departure The showers weren’t great either…..not very powerful and tricky to switch to the right setting

Love the Manor, location , the staff were very pleasant and attentive ,lovely afternoon tea with a complimentary glass of bubbles was a lovely surprise ,,the rooms very spacious ,surroundings and decorations lovely ,breakfast in bed was perfect,we extended for another night stay.

One room needs a bit of refurbishment for the wall paper and curtains had holes , once passed the key could of been informed for what the key fob is for rather then us coming back late at night trying to get through the main doors.

I left the property an excellent review on their site. Reception were second to non. The night porter was great and so were the breakfast staff. I grew up in the area…so know it quite well, I took my partner to show him where I grew up having seen where he grew up. I also work in a four star hotel. Used to be a receptionist at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square. So I know what I’m talking about. Absolutely excellent, we created memories and were given a happy time and a beautiful experience .. thank you.

Lovely room at the top of the old house. Great breakfast selection. Had dinner in the restaurant one night - not cheap, but worth it as a very tasty treat. Well located for walking into the town and to Verulamium Museum. Quiet room, even with a wedding event on.

Just to note, there are no lifts in the old building and so you have to get your luggage up 2-3 flights of stairs for the top-of-house rooms. But you get the view...
