Loved the location and all the friendly, lovely staff! It was nice to have interaction with them at breakfast and get some local recommendations. Coffee was excellent. The room was gorgeous, bed was comfortable and it had a lovely outlook. Really appreciated the deep bath after walking 20km one day! Very generous breakfast included in the stay - thank you!

I was a little disappointed that when I booked it said parking was included onsite but in correspondence after booking I discovered it was not. I didn’t expect to pay for parking when I had specifically selected the booking as parking was included and I know how limited parking is in Grasmere. There were some large biscuit crumbs on the bedside table when I arrived - not a huge deal for me but might be a good idea to double check in future ☺️

Breakfast was incredibly tasty, and theres a few different options, location was great and the manager was incredibly friendly and did everything he could to make sure our stay was pleasant.

The parking was a bit of a surprise as we had read reviews which indicated there were spaces but that has since changed, (the owner did leave us a bottle of wine as an apology for the crossed wires) there are 4 spaces available as one is reserved for another cafe (they left us a note and a cone when we had parked in their spot) the only other issue we found was that during our stay there was scaffolding which we weren't aware of which meant the views were obstructed a bit, the manager did resolve this for us in the way of upgrading our room for one night which was very much appreciated.

Chef is amazing, really lovely, well prepared breakfast. Room really clean and attention paid to detail. Staff kind and attentive.

I knew ahead of time that there is no parking, but it still drives you crazy. Particularly when all the local car parks charge 10.00 overnight fee. I feel sorry for the team running Heidi’s and others like it. The council can just charge what they like. The Co-op was closed so nowhere to buy food. Couldn’t book in anywhere for an evening meal unless I wanted to go at 5 pm.

Easy check in through the code provided and instructions were very clear. Room was better than I expected and with nice touches in the room to make comfortable. Unfortunately I was too early leaving to have the breakfast which I am sure if delicious. Location is perfect in the middle of Grasmere.

Location is central Grasmere and it while was a shame there is no free private parking there is free on road parking close by between 5 and 9 (return within one hour between 9 and 5pm) or other paid parking. Would stay there again but next time have the breakfast.

The property was situated in the middle of grasmere village and was perfect for us to get around. It was a really cosy lodge and everything was an easy process such as check-in, arranging breakfast for the following morning and getting in the property after being out.

The only thing I would say that may seem a little petty which isn’t really any fault of Heidi’s lodge is that the room we stayed in (room 4) we didn’t really get much sleep. The window nearest to the bed didn’t seem to close properly and there was a tree outside our room which was the home of lots of birds. Unfortunately, it was just constant tweeting all early hours of the morning. Sounds really silly but it was from 1:00am - 7:00am just constant tweeting / chirping which was so loud me and my partner just could not sleep. Maybe not ideal for light sleepers. The only other issue was that the bed was a little small for us and more like a small double / three quarter bed.

Made very welcome as soon as we arrived. Our room 4 was huge with a comfortable bed and two armchairs and a small Juliette balcony so we could look out over the village. Breakfast was delicious, pre ordered the night before with everything you would expect with a full English and served quickly and hot. Bathroom was huge with walk in shower and separate bath and nice white towels.

We were up in the eaves of the building so in places the beams and roof height were a bit tricky, and over the bath too but we were pre warned so we expected it and as we are relatively short people it wasn't too much of an issue but anyone tall would need to be wary.

Perfect location in the village, stayed in Room 1 which was spacious, clean with a large comfy bed, perfect room. Hosts were welcoming and accommodating to our early arrival at 1.30pm, room ready and very friendly/helpful throughout stay.

The only bit that was a bit frustrating was being awoken by a lorry at 7.30am, road passes close to the room, and the fact you have to have breakfast pre-9am, Do like a bit of a sleep in whilst away! Would recommend 100% if you are getting out walking early in the mornings but if it’s a romantic relax maybe pick a place / hotel that does breakfast longer and check-out a bit later.

Having visited & stayed here before we knew we would be returning. I wanted to bring my partner back here as Heidi’s is her favourite place in Grasmere and I wanted to propose to her in our favourite room, no. 3. Which I did… and she said YES!!! The room is beautifully decorated, with every detail thought through, an amazing bathroom with a huge bath complete with rubber ducks! The staff at Heidi’s are so warm & friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us on this particularly special visit.

Nothing, the property was amazing

Perfect location, room was lovely (n0 4) with a Juliette balcony which overlooked the road/square in the centre of Grasmere. We had a massive en-suite bathroom with separate bath and walk in shower. What my friend and I really loved was the attention to detail the owner had obviously thought about. From the very clear arrival instructions, menu options for breakfast which could be ordered in advance, to the little extras in the room such as taster tablets of Kendal mint cake….. although my friend and I did raise our eyebrows at the mirror at the end of the bath, but as we’d booked a double room which was the only option left, we didn’t take advantage of this added extra 🤣 Breakfast at Heidi’s cafe was lovely and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, can’t praise them enough. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely nothing!
