The staff were fantastic, they couldn’t have gone above and beyond any more than they did! Not to mention the food was top notch!

We forgot to bring swimwear, not something I didn’t like however if they did sell swimwear for those they forgot it would be great.

Location .excellent views.Hotel quiet and comfortable. Food was fabulous

I paid for dinner bed and breakfast but was not informed thar there was a limit to what we could have on the menu. This made it impossible have a three course meal without paying alot more .If this is policy they should make it clear when you book

Beautiful views. Bedrooms were very spacious. The bed was enormous and so comfortable. Staff were always lovely. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice.

Spa facilities were quite basic. I paid for half board for our entire stay but didn’t realise this only gave a £35 allowance per person which would’ve been fine if the main courses weren’t all around £30 each. The food was tasty but not £30 tasty and the portion sizes weren’t very big so it definitely wasn’t good value for money. The menu was pretty limited as well.

Daffodil Hotel ,& Spa, what can I say about our visit..........WOW From the moment we checked in, staff are amazing, so helpful, friendly, professional always. I am embarrassed that I didn't get the names but there were two in particular, in the dining room, a lovely gentleman who had lots of badges on his waistcoat, he was great, so friendly and helpful - he will know who is and I would like to say a big thank you - the next was a lovely lady who helped behind the lobby bar, she was sooo helpful even though her substantive role was a chef, she went out of her way to help and provide a service so again, a massive thank you, you were brilliant - this doesn't take anything away from all the other staff - they were great. Next, the room, again WOW......the bed was soooo big, we could have fit our grandkids in the middle and still got a great nights sleep, bathroom was much the same, it way outweighed our expectations, absolutely amazing, so clean, fresh, and spacious. Now food........absolutely gorgeous and reasonably priced, would definitely recommend the lamb, it was to die for. ,Breakfast, lots of choice, full english, continental, cereal or all three, and cooked to perfection. There are transfer scattered throughout the hotel which are a great touch, and the pictures throughout, particularly in the dining room are great to look at. I guess what I am trying to say is - absolutely amazing place, you need to visit, I will definitely be going back *****

The weather, it prevented us from walking round the grounds which looked absolutely amazing......

Hot buffet breakfast is of a very good standard. Staff are attentive and friendly. Evening meals are also very good. Good choices, good quality and well presented. Very knowledgeable re food allergies and intolerances. Very accommodating with specific dietary requirements - thank you.

Communication could be improved. Table booked for dinner via email but not confirmed. Preorders for specific dietary requirements also not acknowledged without a phone call to them. There are 2 menus, 1 for the restaurant and 1 for the Lounge. The Lounge which is actually known as the sitting room and all signage is for the ‘sitting room’.

The location of the hotel is lovely, right on Grasmere Lake. The customer service was good. We liked the spa, it was clean and pleasant. My husband had a treatment which he enjoyed. We ate at the hotel for the 2 nights we stayed and the food was nice. We actually preferred eating in the lounge bar to the restaurant as the atmosphere in there was more to our liking. Breakfast wS good, plenty of choice and lots to eat.

Minor points, really, but a lake view room probably means you have a view of the car park! Also, I thought there was a coffee making machine in the room from its description, but it was a kettle with instant coffee.

Location is great, rooms are good. the food and staff were excellent.

The beds were really uncomfortable. The soundproofing was not good as we could hear everything in the next door bathroom and assume they could hear ours…..

Breakfast was fine, thougjh getting hot water to add to our tea was a diffucut task. We had to ask twice on our first day. Room was fine, large and sunny. The wlak in shower was a bit of a struggle for us, but not too bad once we got used to it. It did seem to leak onto the floor! Dinner was fine,. Food quality was excellent. though we both found there was too much lamb.

The fact there was no change to the menu for the main course. As we only stayed 2 nights, thiis was not a problem - we had mainly fish one day and meat the other.

The evening meal choice was excellent as was the breakfast menu. Hotel staff very welcoming and friendly. The thermal pool was relaxing and we enjoyed a mud treatment in the spa.

There was no mirror in the bedroom , (room 314.) I found it very difficult to style my hair, having to continually go into the bathroom to check the position of the brush before using the hair dryer . I finally settled on using my reflection in the TV screen. This was our only complaint and is easily rectified.

Beautiful location and looks recently renovated. Great food in the restaurant in the evening, however very expensive.

The spa facilities were nice with great potential, however the area surrounding the pool is poor. The loungers get drenched from the jets in the water. 3 out of 4 showers were not working. Hangers for towels/robes came off the walls. There was a loose light fitting in the pool. Not all of the jets were working in the pool. The benches in the sauna were splitting/breaking. The steam room has paint or plaster peeling off and had a large gap under the door which released a lot of the steam.
