Everything. Will recommend to everyone. Could not be better. Clean, bed was so comfy, breakfast was exceptional, good quality ingredients, great coffee and tasty, nutricious fruit smoothies. Sky TV with all the channels, located in the centre of Ambleside - Excellent location, good choice of teas, coffees and biscuits in the room, complimentary wine and bottled waters, parking badge provided for duration of the stay for car park nearby, but additionally to this we could use this to park for free in numerous car parks around South Lakes (saved us so much money). Scorching hot weekend but the room was equipped with a fan to cool us down. Good quality complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Hot powerful shower. Attention to detail is amazing. Staff were all lovely including the girls and chef in the cafe, and Niall who after spotting us out, bought us a drink in a nearby pub. Can't wait to return.

Had to leave our dog at home as the rooms are not dog friendly. Can understand why, but this would be the only point I can mention here.

This was a clean, cosy, comfortable room in a great location in the heart of Ambleside. Breakfast was great, a choice of anything from the cafe menu. Some nice extra in the room - Sky channels, and a never ending supply of biscuits, teas and coffees. Also a couple of small bottles of wine were provided daily.All in all , a fantastic stay and I wouldnt hesitate to return.

Breakfast doesnt start unitl 0930 on Sunday which makes it a bit tight timewise as check out is at 10. We couldnt find the wifi on our phones, no big deal as we had our own internet though.

The location is great, close to plenty of shops and amenities. It was also very convenient to have the breakfast included in the pricing as that saved us a lot of hassle trying to find other places to eat breakfast. Great that we had sky tv and access to Netflix!

Not that we didn't like anything but maybe a mini fridge in the room may have helped due to storing cold drinks etc Wifi can also be a wee bit temperamental especially when the cafe opens downstairs as customers can use it down there

The room was very nice with little extras provided such as a selection of cookies, bottled water and even wine. We enjoyed the selection of movies available on Sky. The bed was very comfy and obviously had a good quality mattress. The shower was hot and nice products provided in the bathroom. The host was friendly. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice including good veggie and vegan options. The location was handy. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend to others.

What an absolutely lovely stay we had here at Stiles! A really friendly greeting before heading to such a beautiful, comfortable room that was spotlessly clean. The bed made for a great nights sleep and the shower was a great size with great water pressure. Each morning we was served delicious food & wonderful coffees. When we return to Ambleside, this will definitely be the place we’ll be staying!

We’ve stayed in many different hotels/b&bs over the years in the lakes and Stiles has been the best by miles! We were overwhelmed by how great the service was. The people who run Stiles are what make it so great. They all go out of their way to make it special for you - for example printing the weather forecast for you at breakfast for Helvellyn, keeping the kitchen open for you to have some lunch and just in general welcoming you to their place. They act like they want you there and for you to have a great time. We stayed in the king room and it was large, comfortable, clean and I would look to book it again and again. Book Stiles if you can, you will be pleased you did.

Wonderful stay with friendly hosts. Room (Shiraz) is very comfortable with a great en suite, with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash and moisturiser all provided. Generous tea tray and complimentary wine and water. Breakfast is both generous and delicious. Includes cereal, cooked breakfasts, smoothies/juices, hot drinks and much more. Central location, close to everything that Ambleside has to offer, with free parking sign for the main car park. We'll be back next year.

The WiFi was very patchy while we were there, but seemed to be a network issue, as we've stayed before and it was OK. Unfortunately this meant no TV service in our room. Not an issue for us, but might be for some.

Our room was comfortable and clean and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. Location is great, right in the centre of Ambleside and the parking permit provided free parking for the whole of our stay.

We kept being woken up by a neighbour's dog which was allowed out in a garden nearby and barked a lot.

This really is a gem hidden in plain sight.After years of walking past and not noticing that they provided accommodation, decided to stay here.Large spacious room, plenty of storage, great view of the church (and Loughrigg beyond) Breakfast is served in the cafe, and there is plenty of choice So good we will look at booking again

Great location in centre of Ambleside, staff were efficient and friendly. Loved the jacuzzi bath and shower. Nespresso coffee machine in room and plenty of teabags, coffee sachets etc. Even had 2 complementary mini bottles of wine. Really nice toiletries and super comfy bed and pillows. Lots of little touches that went above and beyond. The breakfast was great too. I will definitely be recommending Stiles!

The only thing, and this is being super picky, we didn't like the towels. They felt really lovely and thick and soft but they weren't very absorbent when drying yourself. First world problems I know! Everything else was spot on and we really enjoyed our stay. Wouldn't hesitate to return!
