The room was clean, well-presented, and comfortable, and had character! It had all the necessary amenities, the bed was comfortable, and the windows opened and could be locked. The location is excellent - it's an easy distance to Kew, the National Archives, the metro station, and well connected by public transit. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. The pub underneath was very nice, with a lovely back garden area, and the staff were all friendly and attentive.

The rooms could have been better sound insulated - quite a bit of noise from the bar downstairs, and sound travelled easily through the walls, but overall this wasn't too distracting or disturbing.

Breakfast and proximity to Underground and Kew Gardens was superb. Ambiance was also superb. Older building was slightly uncomfortable and noisy, but not too bad. Bathroom was poorly lit and there was paint blistering on its wall. Showering arrangement not conducive to older/senior guests (poor light, step up and over bathtub, difficult to understand controls). Bed was comfortable and roomy.

Bathroom. Noise after 10 PM from pub and street. Older design windows drafty in February and did not close/open properly. Smell from pipes or inside walls and the owner's effort to cover it up with "fragrance" was not pleasant.

Food was excellent. Clean serviceable. Bathroom was overly small but we paid a price knowing we were not getting the best rooms for our stay. Location execllent the main reason for booking to visit Kew Gardens easily.

As a property manager I'm very keen on property being kept very easily in good servicable order. The silicone to the shower was messy and unprofessional. This is a cheap and easy fix to make the stay much more elevated. Not double glazed. The toilets there has been an obvious leak causing dry rot and damage to the Bar WC. To get in this state it takes a long time. These are very samll issues but make such a difference as to wether a property feels "loved" and therefore that you matter too!

the food at the Hotel was very good and on one evening the service was exceptional. For some reason there was only one young girl who was taking orders, serving and clearing on her own. It was exceptionally busy and she was stressed but sill managed to stay pleasant and smiling. We were very impressed and did tell her so and also mentioned it at the reception The breakfast was incredible and such good value for money.

We were not aware that this hotel did not have a lift which may have been our error in not checking. However the room we had been allocated was originally on the 3rd floor, which was reached by a very very narrow staircase. The receptionist (manager?) was very helpful and managed to change our room to one on the second floor. Still many stairs for a couple who are now in their 80's, but we were able to cope.

The location of this hotel is perfect for visiting Kew Gardens. A bus to Richmond and Hammersmith stops right at the door, and the Kew Gardens tube station is a short walk away. Breakfast was great. Comfy beds and fluffy pillows. Food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced.

Staff were a mixture--some were attentive and responsive, others acted like they couldn't be bothered. There's no lift, so ask for a first floor room if this is a concern.

breakfast, location for Kew, Tesco, kettle, space, beautiful bathroom Spacious room with lots of open storage so I can see everything as it unpacks. My one aim was Kew Gardens, so a five minute walk away.

stairs, but that was expected. A lift could be lovely, but the expense would contribute to my cost. It was good exercise. And a lovely spacious room. Thank you. Another idea would be to get them to move the Piccadilly line straight to Heathrow. Okay, not realistic.

The staff were very helpful without overdoing it. We were allowed into our rooms at 10am which made the whole day better. The room was very cleverly laid out to make the most of the space. The position was just what we wanted for visiting Kew.

I sort of liked the lack of space, slight shabbiness, and more than adequate but not overgenerous choice at breakfast. I liked them because could see how we were not paying for what we didn't want.

Breakfast very good with several variation of dishes with egg, bacon, &/or sausage combined with coffee, juice, &/or toast-n-jelly. Breakfast, room, & desk service great Bed comfortable. Location within walking distance of underground & Kew Gardens was perfect with a number of restaurants & food establishments in the nearby Kew Village.

The green light from the required fire safety feature in room to easily find door to escape was a bit of annoyance. Room could benefit with a ceiling fan to move air when windows are closed and not using the A/C system. A little mildew on caulking around top edge of tub near faucet/shower area but the air is humid and it is not unexpected.

Great location close to Kew Gardens & the station

Bathroom - shower was over the bath & not easy to get into / out of the bath. Nothing to grab onto. Also needs a separate light in Room 1 as 2 lots of stairs (down then up) to the bathroom, & the switch is also for the main light in the room which is not good in the middle of the night.

The staff were instantly welcoming and friendly and helpful throughout. Comfortable beds with a big room and everything we needed. Lovely area with great transport links. We came during a heatwave and although there was a fan we were still very warm, so someone very kindly brought in an extra fan and we were then very comfortable. Many thanks for a great visit

Nothing - everything was wonderful for us
