The (single) room was nice and clean, cleaned daily, resupplied regularly with bags of tea, coffee and sugar. The staff were nice, and the neighbourhood is great. There is a sink in the room, which helps if you share a bathroom withe another single.

Single rooms share a bathroom; it's not an issue by itself, but the bathroom could do with some refurbishment. There's some noise from aeroplanes landing into nearby Heathrow, flying just overhead. I didn't mind, but light sleepers should be warned.

Had a basic single room, which met expectations factoring in the price I paid. I managed to find a parking space in the very small car park, it would have been problematic if I hadn't. That said for anyone travelling by train the hotel is literally 5 minutes walk from the station, so an ideal location. Generally clean and tidy, no major complaints

There was no one on the desk when i arrived and couldn't raise anyone by ringing the bell. That said I was there too early to check in , I just wanted to let them know I had parked up so not a huge issue. All the staff I did eventually meet were friendly and helpful, and apart from when I arrived the front desk was usually manned. The mattress was a bit hard and might have been uncomfortable for someone who has difficulty sleeping.

Size of the room was massive. The water pressure is amazing and the bath is deep and long. The location is great. The room was a little warm but the fan provided was perfect. Staff were lovely and more than happy to help any way they could, even offering to bring a sewing kit from home to help me! Road beside the hotel is very quiet.

The floors are squeaky, you can hear them through the ceiling. TV is not smart but had all the regular channels. A socket by the bed would be a nice addition but there were plenty throughout the room. (Can be really nit picky and complain about chips in windowsill but that doesn't matter)

our room was absolutely perfect. We had a chance to stay in a room for my boyfriend’s birthday. The room was located in a space that felt very comforting, and it had a very cool view of the backyard. We felt very warm and comfortable staying at the shandon. we really appreciated the service as well. The hotel staff was very reasonable and responsive and hospitable.

It is rundown and needs tlc but all we needed was a great central place to rest - it fulfilled those needs

It was comfortable, clean and warm. The staff were super friendly and (more importantly) helpful. Although the hotel and room did feel slightly 'tired', it was exactly what I needed - and most importantly it was a great location, clean and had a very decent shower. Fabulous value for money.

A smidgen more general maintenance would have done a bit more to improve the overall look and utility of the room. However, this was a minor thing and didn't really detract from the overall experience.

I booked the hotel room last minute at a discount rate. Good price for the value. The hotel is very near the train station but quiet and not many people around. The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated.

The floor made a bit of cracky noise when walking on it. The room was quite hot at night even though the windows were open and it was chilly outside - it was on a day peak temperature was 23’C. Luckily there was a fan and I had it on the whole night which solved the problem.

The room was very spacious with a good bathroom (tub and shower). Everything was spotless, clean and comfy bed, clean towels everyday. Tea and coffee station were replenished daily. The location is ideal for the station, richmond centre and bus stops. Smooth check in and check out. Weather was hot during our stay but there was a fan in the room. Really enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend.

No lifts, so be aware if you need help with access. As with anywhere, if it's hot, there is no air con so it does get very warm in the room, but this wasn't an issue for us.

Friendly helpful staff, knew my name on checking in, a personal service. I'd forgotten how nice it is to be welcomed as an individual. Consistently helpful advice; e.g. directing me to Halfords to fix my car headlamp! Light, bright, clean room with plenty of tea. Fresh sheets and comfy bed.

The room was lovely even if the bathroom was a bit tired and in need of an overhaul; it's clean, which is the main thing. However, one of the bedside tables hadn't been wiped down and had a sticky substance on it, which got onto my book and hairbrush as I had put them onto it without realising.

Cheap, conveniently located, with a comfortable room that had everything I'd need for a single night. I forgot a towel but they were provided and were freshly cleaned, there was a fan provided which helped a lot with the heat, they had shampoo and all in all, everything worked and was satisfactory. Near enough to restaurants and the cinema so that if you get bored or find yourself with nothing to do, there's probably something nearby.

Shared bathroom facilities for the cheapest room, however, I didn't have any issues with this setup. The charging ports for the room could be better located but I got by fine. It would have been useful if cups had been provided for drinking water.
