Clean and comfortable place to stay, homely with big bed. Warm and cosy with small fridge in room. Didn't meet any of the staff team but very easy messaging to check in and clear details on what to do, and if we needed anything. Parking right outside and short walk to town centre. so peaceful to wake up to the gentle birdsong.
place was fine for our needs, no problems with our stay, but there's a sign in the bathroom which says 'not drinking water' above the taps which was confusing, i wondered if it meant the hot water or the cold. So we got bottled water. UK tap water is usually fine to drink. Kettle in room to boil and prep for tea etc.

Easy Self check in (all explanations received the day of arrival within booking message) The room was very spacious, calm and clean. Kettle with coffee and tea, Tv screen, sofa. Thare is a big shared kitchen with everything you need to prepare your meals. Bed was comfy and bathroom was also very clean. There is a private parking. You have the contact details if you have a question / issue. Self check-out. The Hostel is 5 minutes about the ferry terminal and from all big groceries shop's and city center.
Nothing, everything was perfect.

This is a hostel so you pick up your key from a box at the front door and probably won't see any host. But it is beautifully kept, with nicely appointed rooms, basic style but nice and the icing on the cake is the fabulously equipped kitchen, which guests DO seem to respect, along with a very nice Dining/Lounge with TV, books etc. Trust is high here and it should be rewarded because this is an excellent place to stay. seems a little out of the way when you arrive but it is close to a Tesco and about a 15 minute walk into Kirkwall proper.

The owner was really friendly, and will always be there when you need him. The room was spacious, comfy like at home, with a mini fridge, kettle, tea and coffee provided, which was very decent. It was pretty close to the city centre as well, with a 12-15 mins walking to St.Magnus Cathedral, and around 5-7 mins walking to the local Co-op (where a bus stop lay).
Nothing much to be fair, I just had some problems with my loo trying to flush it properly, but everything was sorted at the end of the day. The stairs are a little bit small, so if you think about carrying big luggages that would be a huge disadvantage (unless you will be staying downstairs).

I was stuck on the island due to weather conditions and lack of crossing to the Fair Isle. I was lucky to get any accommodation as the island was very busy and so I was very greatful for the room for a night. On arrival I was greeted by a member of staff who was very friendly and assisted me. Great customer service. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable albeit I am over six foot tall and my legs were bunched up, but as previously said I was very greatful for a bed and my expectations of a hostel are not the same as a hotel. My stay was excellent for what I required and met my realistic expectations.
My stay met realistic expectations for a hostel. I didnt have any issues or dislikes.

Always someone available to be reached via phone/WhatsApp. Helpful hand in giving advise (last ferry gets to island 30min most restaurants stop serving. Manage to get something to eat for dinner thanks to them). Very welcoming. Lent me a map. One of the cleanest hostels I've ever been. For self catering hostel users, it's very much close to big supermarkets to restock
Could probably do with a better ventilation in the rooms. Tbf, it's known to be a windy island and I got the few days without wind. It's a bit of a walk(not crazy, abt 20min)from anything in Kirkwall, but it's a nice quiet area. Price a little steep for a hostel, imho

We love the facilities and everything are well organized. The location is not that fae from Kirkwall’s center. We can reach almost everywhere by walking distance. The bus stop is even nearby with supermarkets. I’d highly recommend for a group of friends, regardless of gender. I traveled with a group of female.
Only certain outlets worked. I hope by the time they fixed it but we could manage to charge our electronic devises.

Best hostel we have ever stayed in! So clean, with a well-equipped and super organized kitchen and lovely dining/living room! Felt more like a nice hotel. Hosts were fabulous and so accommodating. The location is perfect and very walkable to pubs, grocery stores, St Magnus Cathedral, the Visitor Center, bus stops, etc. We will definitely return!
There is nothing I don’t like about this property.

This place is amazing for using if you're between ferries from the Northlink to a local outer Isle ferry. Has everything you need for an overnight stay, easy late night check in. As a local who on occasion travels for business, I stay here several times a year and it has yet to disappoint. Good to see the little issue I had last time I stayed has been resolved.
Nothing not to like.

The stay was truly fantastic. Check-in was very easy and the room was clean and super comfortable. They seemed to think of a lot of small details such as having enough plugs and towel holders in the room. Additionally, the kitchen and common room were clean, comfortable and very nice! All around a great experience and potentially the best hostel I ever stayed at! Staff was very responsive when I forgot something in the room.
