Completely helpful and friendly staff. The location is superb and parking was plentiful for the annexe area. The interior of the hotel: reception, bar, restaurant area, was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the atmosphere was, calm, warm and inviting. I had breakfast only as I was visiting family in the area. The breakfast was substantial and catered for all needs. The hotel really is dog friendly and that added to the magic of my stay. Knaresborough is a charming market town in North Yorkshire, with lots of individual bars, restaurants, pubs, a river, a castle and some wonderful walks.

My room, 029, had a noisy door seal that rattled all night - apart from that it had all I needed. The shower door did come off its wheels but maintenance came to fix it.

Great location, a few minutes walk from the train station. Friendly and helpful staff, quick to help with some towels for my room. I enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. I was able to leave my luggage for a while after checking out.

The single room I had was next to an air filtration outlet by the window, so until 11pm and from 6.30am I was blasted with noise and slightly oily smells. This could be fixed by soundproofed and double glazed windows, but perhaps they’re not permitted to fit them on the property.

Although the temperatures were below zero our annex room across the car park was warm and cosy. The breakfasts were very good in the main hotel restaurant. We didn't need our room cleaned everyday which meant we were given a free drink voucher, each day. We had two evening meals which were both excellent, chosen from a good-sized menu. It is a short walk to Knaresborough station with trains every 30 minutes to either York or Leeds, so we could leave the car for the day and enjoying eating and drinking out. Kevin was an absolute star helping us to clear ice off our car, the day we departed. Thank you

Christmas decorations were lovely in the restaurant but together with Chtistmas music in mid-Nov. too early for us!

The manager is really friendly and helpful. Lovely decor and great food. Parking is an added bonus!

I’d of liked bottled water in my room and some information on the local area.

The staff were very welcoming and responsive at all times. We had booked a double bed room but realized it was not ideal and the staff was flexible enough to find us a twin bed room instead. The parking is fine as long as you don't get back too late. Walking distance from the hotel are many dining options. It helps that Knaresborough itself is a pretty town and when it's sunny there is a beautiful garden at the hotel with tables where you can enjoy a drink in the sun.

The only little minus was that I would have liked scrambled eggs as a breakfast option but only fried eggs were available.

The hotel was beautiful inside with little rooms..the gardens were pretty aswell..our room was on the carpark so thought it would be abit noisy on a night,but it was really quiet the staff were really lovely and friendly,we got a free drink instead of room service which was a nice touch.we would definitely stay again.

The weather turned unseasonably mild after a really cold spell..when we visited,so the pub was far to warm on an evening as the heating was still on,the staff tried turning radiators off around the place,but there was still wood burners on.The staff had to open the doors on a evening to cool it down.which helped abit.

Room was okay, could have been cleaner. We found a sock behind the chair and it was quite dusty. the bed was comfortable but one of us struggled with the pillows. They are too deep. The entire hotel was way too hot, you could save a fortune on your heating bills and maybe offer a feather pillow as an alternative. The food wasn’t great to be honest. Breakfast on the Friday was appalling, no bacon for about 10 minutes, no beans at all, rubber eggs and a grumpy chef however the Saturday was much better, bacon eggs and beans all good and a pleasant chef too. The evening menu was average. The staff are lovely and helpful particularly Ben who deserves a mention.

It's a lovely inn, with nicely decorated rooms and very comfy beds. Easy to get to and a good base to explore Yorkshire. The food at the pub was good and very reasonably priced. If you're staying for more than 2 nights, you get offered a drink voucher if you choose not to have the room cleaned every day, which was a nice touch. This is to help the inn to be more sustainable.

The main car park requires a bit of maneuvering if it's busy, as it's not the most spacious. The wait for the food in the pub was quite a long one on 2 out of 3 days (around an hour) and it wasn't very busy.

The location close to the town centre was excellent. Parking was plentiful on a first-cum-first-served basis. The breakfast was very good with loads of choice of hot food. They also had a novel concept of choosing not to have your room 'made up' in exchange for a free drink at the bar (you don't always want/need the room to be made up, so having the option was really good). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was one member of bar staff who was grumpy and unhelpful which lets down the whole side. He needed to go on a customer service training course!!! The rest of the staff were excellent.
