Our room (No. 11) , and indeed the whole hotel, was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast we found both disappointing and overpriced. A very small wedge of black pudding and an equally small cube of hash brown were poor components of a "Yorkshire Breakfast". On the plus side, the home made muesli was very good. but breakfast overall did not represent good value at £15, (which we paid) but even less at the new price of £20. Bar menu was good value and reasonably priced, although we found the restaurant offerings to be expensive, and took particular exception to the practice of charging separately for side dishes, £5 per portion!

The comfort of room 11 was marred by the presence of a security light to the right of the window. This was quite intrusive to sleep quality and would benefit from being shielded. We loved this place from the decoration to the lovely pub. The room was of a perfect size with all the necessary you can ask for. The bathroom looked brand new with all top quality stuff. Only the view from the room window was to the backyard where the kitchen and laundry rooms are, but that did not mean a problem at all in terms of the noise or so. What we liked the most of this place was the care in the detail in everything. The staff was always ready to assist and very kind. There are plenty of parking spaces at the front of the property. I would highly recommend this place.

Peaceful rooms despite being close to quite a busy country road. Exceptional food. Young & friendly waiting staff very knowledegable and helpful re the extensive wine list, without being pushy or patronising.

The wine list was extensive, but it was also expensive. Some cheaper choices would have been welcome. Didn't like the loud "funky" music played at breakfast time. Had to ask for it to be turned down. A bit of quiet Bach would have been OK maybe, but we'd rather not have any music imposed on us.

What a superb find, an absolute gem of a place and a MUST visit Hotel & Restaurant. We booked an overnight stay and were not disappointed. Jane on reception is amazing, very friendly checking us in and showing us around, nothing was too much trouble . The room was beautiful, tastefully decorated and an extremely powerful hot shower which is always a bonus. We started with drinks in the bar, I'm a Gin lover and have never had fresh lemongrass in my gin before which was delicious especially when served in a stunning glass with plenty of ice and fresh raspberries too. Our restaurant experience was outstanding from sensational food to impeccable service by all the staff. The Sommelier was on hand to provide advice and recommendations, she definitely knew her stuff. Breakfast in the morning was equally delicious including the complimentary berries smoothie. Once checked out we drove into nearby Knaresborough for a lovely riverside walk but returned back to GT to taste the much talked about Sunday Roast, it was delicious. We will definitely be returning again to this fantastic gem and cannot recommend it enough. Thank you to all the Amazing GT staff for looking after us this weekend.

Nothing, everything was top notch

We stayed at The GT as we were attending a wedding in the area. We have never been before. From the start, the service was exceptional - extremely professional, friendly but also discrete - one of those places were people are there if you need them, immediately, but not fussing around all the time, just how good staff should be! The breakfast was exceptional and my wife and I agreed that we will find an excuse to come back soon. Excellent in every way.

The breakfast room was very nice, nice and light and a good place to sit. A good variety of cooked items available and a lovely complimentary smoothie was a lovely touch.

Personally we would have liked a choice of fruit and yoghurt. Which would have made the menu first class.

The place was spotless everywhere, nice room, very nice food and absolutely amazing staff. Lovely outside space and great carpark. Nice little village and very close to knaresborough

I thought £150 was a little expensive for a double room with no breakfast included and the bed was a little too firm for us. Would have been nice if the bar area had a few comfy chairs, setees or snug area. This said we will definitely go back we loved the place

The hotel was extremely comfortable and well kept. It has been renovated and extended to a high standard. It has very good parking facilities with a lovely outlook to the side of the property. Our room, although quite compact, was well appointed, with comfortable bed and a good size bathroom. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be happy to return again in the future.

We thought that breakfast could have been included in the hotel rate. The rate for a full breakfast was £15 per person extra per day. Sometimes a continental breakfast is sufficient. We thought that this could have been offered at maybe £7-£8 per person. We would have happily accepted that, but still think breakfast should be included in the daily rate.

What a lovely place, a very comfortable room with great coffee and Yorkshire tea. The fantastic staff from Emily who rang us to confirm our table etc to Emalia and Donald who served us. The tasting menu was absolutely fantastic and a great price. My husband said there was nothing on the menu he didn’t like. We had breakfast the next day before leaving and again we could not fault anything. Emily was very welcoming, friendly, chatty and helpful, a real asset to the business we thought. We will definitely be back

Nothing to complain about.
