the receptionist on my visit was fantastic , very welcoming and friendly! lovely hotel, nice facilities , excellent value for money.

annoying to have to pay for parking which wasnt clear when i booked the room. and i had to pay a fee to use the pool which again wasnt clear on booking.

good location and great breakfast

The hotel website states that best rates are booking direct. This is incorrect. Much cheaper via booking. com. There is however an additional charge of £10 per day parking, This is unacceptable when paying approx £160 per night- won’t be going again.

Room was very comfortable and had plenty of amenities - nice toiletries, fresh towels every day, bathrobe and slippers, excellent coffee making facilities (usual plus a Lavazza coffee machine with pods) Reception/bar area/lounge/terrace bar/terrace - all excellent Couldn't fault the staff at all. Everyone was polite and very helpful. Top Marks Food in the restaurant was excellent - good choice too and well presented. Best cheese board I've ever seen!!

Restaurant was a bit dated and could do with a freshen up. Shame because the rest of the hotel was very nicely decorated and furnished. Food was a bit overpriced, esp the breakfast which we didn't book - we stayed 2 nights and at £20, it would have cost us an additional £80!!

We love this hotel- a but if luxury while we attend a music festival each year at temple newsham. So easy to walk in from the hotel. Comfortable rooms, nice spa and lovely garden.

A few things not up to scratch this year. They hadn't cleaned up the tables at the spa- dirty cups, spilt coffee on the floor and food on the floor. Breakfast- we were missing teaspoons so stiree with spoon handles , the butter for toast had to be requested, our orange juice didn't come and had to be requested again, wheetabix came but had to ask for milk and it was difficult to get their attention. It wasnt very busy so it was disappointing.

The staff were so lovely, and helpful. Nothing seemed to be to much trouble. Room was great. Also very clean. I had asked for fibre pillows and they were in my room on arrival. Facilities were great too Nice to have a fluffy dressing gown and slippers provided. A nice touch having a proper coffee maker in the room as well as ordinary tea and coffee. Also, lovely being able to get fresh milk and cold water. Really like the vanity unit with hairdryer which also doubled up as desk if you needed to work. The food was delicious. I had room service on Valentine's night and had the burger. Easy to use menu guide abd ordering. No long waits. The homemade burger abd chips were fab. At breakfast, the scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked so the were soft.

Only that I'd have liked the breakfast and spa to have been included in the price.

The room was very nice although it was more of a "business" type room if that makes any sense. Nonetheless it was clean comfortable with great facilities in the room and bathroom. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was very good. Good selection of drinks at the bar and the breakfast service especially was brilliant - nothing self service just as it should be !

Charging for parking really is silly in my opinion. Our bill was £500 and to charge £12 on top of that for parking just means your final impression is a negative one rather than all the positive things. I don't understand why management don't just roll it into the cost of the room for guests I don't see the point in creating that animosity. So many people at check out said the same thing and the poor girls at reception must get fed up of trying to explain the policy to people.

Fabulous food and service with a smile in restaurant and bar. Loved the milk jug idea. Bathroom spotlessly clean.

Masseuse was a bit brusque and for the price I expected more to be honest. Lounge area in spa felt rather small / cramped for such a large hotel. Couldn't believe pool only sold crisps and chocolate not very healthy! Drinks were pricey but perhaps to be expected. Sad not to be able to sit in conservatory (nicest room) as all tables reserved for afternoon tea.

Everything fantastic treatments. Breakfast was fantastic. And we are coming back in may for a spa day. And then again in August hopefully. To stay for another two nights again.

They was not chocolate bars that you could buy inside the hotel I had to get a taxi to the shops at 10 at night because I can't drive.

Food was pretty good. Although the dippy egg wasn’t really dippy 😬 Other than that no complaints and definitely recommend to try the kitchen.

Well when I arrived on 4.Nov. around 3 o’clock, the receptionist wasn’t kind at all. Cold and almost rude. I thought she is just having a bad day but I saw her chatting very kindly to other people who arrived after me. Not sure what that was. And also when I went for tea with my boy they asked me to pay before we even had our food. I found that rude! However, the lady who seated us at the breakfast was so lovely (sorry I forgot the name) and Leah went over and beyond when she was there. So thank you 🙂

Best room we have had for a very long time. Booked with Booking.com but on check in they couldn’t find my booking. We could not fault this hotel in any way which is unusual for us. The evening meal we had was excellent. Stay here if you get a good price.

Nothing at all. Very clean in every respect all over the hotel. Difficult to find any fault which as I said previously is unusual for us. We do not have any connections with this hotel in any way.
