A superb inn comfortable and uniquely accommodation. The rooms were easy and had all the facilities required. The bed was very comfortable and the room spacious. Bathroom was clean. The inn is located just outside of Lichfield so is a quick drive. The inn is spacious and pleasantly decorated with little tidbits of local history dotted around. The staff were extremely friendly and more than happy to cater. We ate in the inn the same evening and the food was exceptional! The bar was well stocked with a variety of drinks available. We will definitely return to stay again.

Unfortunately one of the other guests staying in the inn was disruptive when trying to locate their room. When reported to the manager, they didn't deem it a concern.

The room was lovely , a nice size room . Good Suze bathroom. Lots of tea and coffee making items, not like premier where you get just enough for a morning tea or coffee. Asked for a fan and an iron and ironing board. They were provided quickly. Ate in the garden before going out for the evening, food was beautiful and value for money. The gardens are really pretty. Breakfast was very food also and the breakfast team where very helpful.

Our room was sooo hot. Even with a fan and the window open it was almost unbearable. Despite being in the middle of a heatwave , radiators were blasting out heat in the corridor. I spoke to the hotel who said that there is a problem that they are trying to deal with.

Our 4th Stay at the Wonderful The Hedgehog innkeeper my husband and I annually stay here , traveling from Switzerland home to Staffordshire … I can honestly say “it’s like home from home!!!” The staff are so friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them, always smiling, happy and working SO hard!! including the hard working housekeeping team. our room was AMAZING.. so much space!!! comfy mattress … immaculate bedding.. flat screen tv and complimentary beverages. we dined with family in the restaurant, perfectly placed on the plate and the palate I have to say great size portions OUTSTANDING food & breakfast !!! fabulous cosy vibe, snug and warm with the fire place lit we’ll see you again this year ☺️ tiny hint … wished the rooms had a cool box or mini fridge would be amazing + for storing fresh milk 😉)

Met by welcoming staff, checked in & shown to room with clear explanation of key fob entry to different door access points. Clean, spacious room & facilities as described. Staff answered any queries, provided taxi details on a business card which enabled us to travel in to the centre easily.

Our only issue was that our room was excessively hot which was very uncomfortable. The radiator valve would not turn down and the windows didn't open. The lady who showed us into the room was aware of this at the time. We met the cleaner the next morning coming out of the room as we returned who kindly provided a fan, but that didn't help too much as it was merely recirculating hot air.

Good location, fair price. Lovely communal areas and garden. Room was nice, but not perfect. Ample parking.

There were a few spillage stains on the walls in the bedroom and some of the accessories did not match the decor i.e. clothes rail and lamp, very odd. Breakfast was poor. My Wife ordered full English, the sausages were tough, scrambled eggs, bacon and mushrooms dry, as though they had been sitting for a while, even though we came down to breakfast at 7.30a.m. and were the only people in the dining area. I ordered eggs Florentine, but the poached egg yolks were hard. My Wife informed the member of staff, who offered an alternative, but no apology. Upon checking out the lady behind the bar would have offered a refund, but she said she couldn't because breakfast was included with the room.

The hotel is perfectly situated for a visit to Lichfield. The room was spotless. We ate dinner in the restaurant both nights and the food was fresh, well-cooked and delicious. The same for breakfast. We have stayed in a fair few hotels over the years, and can honestly say, the staff - from booking in onwards - were wonderful. They were friendly, efficient and obviously enjoy working at the hotel. If I ever need another stay in the city, this will be the hotel for me.

Dinner, room and breakfast Dinner was really good, waitress was brilliant and nothing too much trouble - only down was there was very few dessert choices available due to a menu change, so my first choices I didn't get. Room - was lovely and had everything you need, fab TV and nice toiletries Breakfast - was really nice and perfect poached eggs Staff were extremely warm and welcoming, made us very comfortable and received good advice on Gin. Loads of car parking - really good value

This is me being picky - The lovely tartan carpet on the stairs to the rooms needs a clean as its well used and the mattress was quite hard for my liking

Was disappointed that the radiator was off when I got there, being zero temperature all day the room was freezing and no-one wants to walk into a stone cold room especially when your showering and getting ready to go out. Also staff Need to be a bit respectful to being noisy and loudly talking in corridor at 9am in morning. Was a treat to me to stay away and have a lie in so didn't wanna be woke. Up by staff shouting to each other in corridor. Small thing but ruined my lovely quiet sleep.

A good atmosphere when entering , welcoming and friendly , good quality without going overboard . Restaurant and meal rooms well planned and not overcrowded tables and seating . Our double room was an excellent size and perfectly equipped like home from home .

Entrance driveway could have been better tended , even when appreciating it has been 'no mow' May it first made us wonder what are we entering into , then we presumed on seeing the scaffolding up that the outside of the building , car park and grounds are undergoing a restoration ? The only other obvious criticism is the post code WS138JB might get you to the area and we did see the advice intimating it was associated with a google error but which ever direction you came from by 'SAT NAV' it guided you to a road the other side of a busy main road , crossroad & light controlled junction !! once you knew where the entrance is , that's fine but by then its time to return home .

Nice country location with easy parking. The pub had a nice atmosphere so we were happy to sit in the bar to pass the time. We arrived early for check-in and the guy was very helpful. Bags were in our room when we were able to check in later.

The restaurant was clearly much busier than they had expected and many items on the menu were not available - no roast dinners at all! Our waitress was lovely but working with inexperienced staff - frustrating to see your drinks sitting on the bar and not served, while wait staff are clearing empty tables.
