The staff, the room, the spa, the location, the parking. I commend Fairlawns to future guests.

Two niggles, and first world problems for sure. The hairdryer in the room is secured into a drawer between two mirrors and has a very short cord. The cord prevents one from being able to sit in front of the mirror to do hair. Given the quality of the establishment I was surprised not to find a freestanding hairdryer. The second problem was the ironing board and iron, both were inoperable, the iron was the most basic, lesser quality than a travel iron with no steam capability. Housekeeping sorted it quickly but their checks should have picked this up.

I stayed in the budget small room but it was very well equipped and a lot of thought has been put in to how it works for the guest. I’ve stayed here many times over about 10 years and each year I am impressed by the small things … vegan milk in the room, free sweeties etc. The staff have always been local people, all really well trained and welcoming.

The budget rooms are on the side of the hotel where a road runs along. The road starts to get busy at about 6.00 a.m and the double glazing isn’t quite up to a sound proof standard.

Everything! The room was outstanding and so comfortable and the staff were unreal and couldn't do enough for you! The bath in the sitting room was perfect for relaxing whilst watching a little TV and the towels were so soft. I wouldn't normally use a face cloth as I find them quite rough on my skin but theirs was so gentle. The spa facilities were amazing and even better that it was just a small extra charge as we were guests in the hotel. I also had a facial and back massage treatment which was so relaxing and done wonders for a knot I have had in my shoulder for a few months.

The local taxi charged us £9.70 for a 1.1 mile trip. It would be a good idea to have a contract with a local trusted taxi firm for guests although to be fair we didn't ask so maybe they already do.

Property was comfortable and clean, all around the hotel and room was cleaned daily. The restaurant food was exceptional and cooked to perfection. It was a very calm environment to eat in and waiters were attentive and approachable. The spa was lovely and spacious and good value for the facilities. Everything you needed was provided. The garden was so beautiful and had lots of seating areas. We would like to say a massive thank you to Dave who made our stay very welcoming from the minute we walked in, all staff were polite.

Only downfall was there wasn't a selection of hard pillows only soft ones and found it a bit difficult to watch tv as was sinking into the bed.

Arrived around 5pm after a 6 hour drive from Cairnryan. Check-in was easy and the hotel staff were super friendly. In fact, every member of staff from hotel reception, housekeeping, and restaurant/bar staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Air conditioning throughout the hotel and in both bedrooms was a godsend, given it was reaching 30 degrees outside. We used the bar facilities for drinks and food, and the restaurant for breakfast, both were a joy to relax in and the food was beautiful.

Couldn't complain about a single thing!

As a person of faith and colour, I felt so comfortable and included by all the staff including- reception staff, cleaning staff and spa staff. During my stay all of the staff accommodated to me and my small group of friends. Even the small things like needing a toothbrush and toothpaste at 1am, were accommodated towards, as well as fresh milk at any time. The staff were very informative and for the first time in my life, I was welcomed by a hotel so warmly and with no awkwardness at all. All the staff, especially reception and room service are due a special appreciation for being so inclusive and aware of diversity. I don’t know what Fairlawns are doing right but their staff have been exceptionally trained to help people with tailored needs and that to a very high standard. The customer service that we received here gave me more confidence to stay at places that are perceived to be less diverse- very very welcoming. I have stayed at another well known hotel nearby in Four Oaks and experienced the opposite of what I experienced at Fairlawns. Hence why I would be inclined to return again and perhaps more frequently. Love to see such a warm, family oriented business still alive in the midlands.

Quietness (we requested a quiet room and that was perfectly met), location in pleasant peaceful gardens, plentiful efficient staff, superb food, responsive front desk, apparently happy and contented staff.

The main restaurant lacks identity and atmosphere. Well furnished and staffed (apart from a clearly identifiable restaurant manager). The food is of exceptional quality, it deserves a better environment to be served and enjoyed! Although the hotel cannot be blamed, the rowdy behaviour of some of the local Brits in the Bar (which could be heard in the Restaurant at times) was something to keep away from.

Our 2 night visit was for a wedding being held at the venue. Every detail, start to finish, was exceptional. You could not hope to find better staff, at every level, or service, everyone, and every detail, was over and above. Very family friendly too with staff actively engaging with children and seemingly enjoying this.

One minor niggle re the teas and coffees in room. Only one sachet each.on arrival. A basket with plenty of sachets for the stay would have been appreciated.

The surrounding grounds were lovely the two seater swinging chair is a great touch and the outdoor snugs looked nice but were a bit dusty and covered in leaves due to the wind room was amazing we had an executive suit fully recommended spa was clean and the facilities excellent

apart from the outdoor snug the passion fruit cocktail off the tap was un drinkable , we asked for these to be removed from our bill and there were no questions ask and reception staff removed them

I booked my parents in for two nights and they really enjoyed their stay, staff were so friendly, room was nice and clean and bed comfortable. My dad was a bit disappointed in his full English but no other complaints. I think the room rate I paid should have included breakfast, when I realised it didn't I rang to pay for it, which was no fuss and simple to do, but then I thought total price was a bit high for the room they had which looked over a car park at the entrance
