Outstanding hotel, from the location to the friendly helpful staff to the excellent food and service to the view from my room on the 14th floor. The room was excellent, so clean and so many nice touches. Breakfast was very good with so many choices and the staff were very polite and helpful.

The unannounced '5% Accommodation Service Charge' which is added to your bill at check-out. No mention is made of this on the hotel website. I was assured by the staff member on reception when checking out that this service charge is paid to all staff members. I hope this is the case and not just paid to directors/shareholders. These service charges [of varying percentages] are added to all guest transactions at the hotel and they are of course 'Discretionary'. However the word discretionary never gets mentioned even on the invoice presented to me at check-out. The Royal Lancaster Hotel could easily mention and explain this service charge on their website for all to see. Not doing so could imply the charge is a 'sneaky little extra' to add on to the guest's bill?

The Royal Lancaster is the pinnacle of service. We were spoiled by the entire staff from the moment we arrived to the day we departed. The hotel itself is very stylish inside and out. The lobby and restaurants are elegant and the staff polished. Although everyone is exceedingly polite, they are also warm and friendly. Anytime we called reception to request something (usually more coffee... because we drink TOO much of it) it was delivered in minutes by a cheerful staff member. Our room was sensational with a terrific view of London and Hyde Park. It was well furnished and very comfortable. We took advantage of the heated towel racks to dry our towels for use the next day. The Royal Lancaster is keen on conservation; reducing water usage is a priority for them and something we applaud. We'd like to give our sincere thanks to the concierge Sebastián who is a consummate foody and a lovely man. He made several dinner recommendations for us and took care of the reservations. Every place he sent us to was outstanding. Our gratitude also goes to Ernestas at the concierge desk who secured cabs for us and Vlad who welcomed us back after our long days of sightseeing. Special thanks to Cindy, the guest relations manager who made sure our afternoon tea in the café was flawless and that, as guests, we felt appreciated. She had lovely tea cakes delivered to our room several times. I would like to note that the hotel is in a perfect location whether you're a first time visitor to London or a seasoned traveler. It's not only quiet but the Lancaster Gate tube station is just around the corner as well as a bus stop on both sides of Bayswater. We took advantage of their excellent location to public transportation. The Royal Lancaster was, by far, the best experience we've ever had at a hotel. In a word, Magnificent! We're looking forward to returning as soon as possible.

nothing... it was perfect!

staff were really helpful, hotel smelt nice

No choice of room offered, as we would have preferred a view of London city rather than the other direction. The TV remote was dusty suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned and the shower door leaked all over the floor

Royal Lancaster is a superb 5* asset. It looks to have been fully refurbished not so long ago and rooms and common areas look impeccable. Service and staff are all at 5* level. The hotel is 7 minutes walk from Paddington which gives great tube and train connections and right at the edge of Hyde Park. Value for money is excellent, which makes this property stand out from other, more expensive hotels nearby.

No faults. My room (Deluxe) was perhaps smaller than what I expected, but for a single traveller it was still about right. I rarely give 10 out of 10, but this one deserves it fully.

So easy to find from Lancaster Gate tube station. I was attending an awards ceremony at the hotel and although I live in London I thought I would treat myself to a night here. As soon as you go into the hotel, you’re welcomed by the staff. I checked in with ease and when I went to my room I was struck by the amazing view. It was great overlooking Hyde Park. The room and bathroom were super clean and plenty of free bottled water as well as coffee and team making facilities. The shower was great and the bath towels sumptuous and large. I slept so well and it was so nice not to be struggling back on the tube after the awards ceremony (icing in the cake is that my team won in our category!). This hotel is fantastic value for money for a central location and I would stay here again. Thank you Royal Lancaster Hotel

the location of this hotel is perfect, it`s near the hyde park, also there is an arabian grocery store near by, you can reach the hotel easily through elizabeth line when you arrive the airport, the rooms were clean, reasonable size, and soundproofed. there is a constant taxi car in front of the hotel. quiet neighborhood, nice stuff fast check in and out.

the room total charge was not clear until check out, there is an accommodation service charge that was not included in the total amount that was showing in booking. this could lead to some financial planning issue so make sure that you included this 5% of the total room price in your plan.

When I'm in London I normally like traditional hotels. The Royal Lancaster is more modern but spotlessly clean and very elegant. The location was great, the view from the room magnificent (overlooking Hyde Park) and the room very comfortable and well-appointed. Residential area but very close to central London.

Actually, the hotel was excellent save two things. First, the room was small so it was a tight squeeze to store the luggage. That was minor. The ONLY thing keeping me from giving the hotel a near perfect rating was that I learned only upon my return to America that I was charged a five percent (5%) per day "voluntary" service fee for both rooms I booked. This fee was NEVER disclosed to me at any time before, during or at the end of my stay. I only learned of it when I saw my credit card statement. To be fair, when I called the hotel, they apologized for the supposed oversight and refunded the fee to me.

There was a plump waiter at the front desk who was very enthusiastic. I wanted to thank her when I left, but I didn't find her. I'm terribly sorry. Can you reach her? I forgot her name. She saw me off to my room that day and where to stay next time. I hope the room floor will be more perfect.
