Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming, food was seriously good and the room spotless and beds comfortable. Decor was luxurious and we loved the high ceilings and exposed beams. The Running Fox across the road does fantastic breakfasts!!
Unfortunately we didn’t sleep very well at all because of the extremely noisy floorboards and lack of soundproofing upstairs. Very uncomfortable hearing fellow guests using their toilet and not just the flush. Didn’t help that cleaner started her work seconds after a room was vacated so couldn’t even nod off again. £226 a lot of money for three nights stay when you haven’t had one good nights sleep ☹️☹️

Accommodation was good, friendly staff, food excellent, the best fish finger sandwich I have ever had!! Josh the bar man, waiter, chamber maid, is the only man I have ever seen that can multitask!!
Music too loud, rooms were over the bar and music was playing until 11pm, I went to bed about 10pm as I had driven 230 miles and taken five hours, could get to sleep for the music playing!! Second night was better, as I had mentioned it to the lovely lady behind the bar, and she turn it down.

Location was close to where we needed to be. The carvery was very good quality and tasty well worth the visit for that alone. The staff were very friendly even when there was an unexpected influx of customers from a club everything went smoothly.
The only downside for me was the music from the bar and that's purely because I have the hearing of a bat it did stop at 11.00 pm . It would not stop me from booking again as the one little negative out weighs all the positives.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly. The inn was well above our expectations, very nice. The room was very good, bed was very comfortable and the kettle for teas n coffees were a nice touch. Overall a great time at the village inn.
Not much to talk about here, only thing was the WiFi wasn’t able to reach our room. We would have connection all throughout the building until we went into the room.

Good food, very pleasant and helpful staff. Booking.com had double booked us which was not what we needed after driving nearly 300 miles in horrendous weather. However Josh from the Village Inn contacted them and sorted it. Very convenient for visiting all the places we wanted to see.
Room was a bit noisy as it was above the bar. Parking limited.

Stopped for one night on our way up to Scotland, we wanted somewhere close to Bamburgh Castle to visit on the day. It was a beautiful and peaceful area and an excellent establishment. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had dinner at the pub below; the pub itself is excellent, the food was lovely and the decor was really quirky and different. The staff were extremely helpful and cheerful, and check in/out was super easy.
Absolutely nothing, we enjoyed all of it. We saw some complaints in reviews that the Inn didn't serve breakfast but we had no issue with that as we went across the road to the Fox cafe which was amazing!

Bed was super comfortable, and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and bedding was lovely. Even tho we arrived very late we had a very warm welcome.
No breakfast available. We knew it wasn't included in the price but didn't realise that there wasn't breakfast there, although very lovely cafe across road. For the price the room was very small - just really the size of the bed, and the doors were all bare wood - looked unfinished, and there was a lot of dust and cobwebs on the beams over the bed - although the room itself was very clean.

Very nice place to stay. Comfy bed and nice clean room with a good shower. We had dinner which was tasty, lasagne and a superb veggy and gluten free burger with salad. I am ceoliac and was very happy to find a tasty gf burger, full marks to the chef. Bar staff very pleasant. Was very busy but they managed to fit us in at short notice.

Pub with friendly and helpful staff. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet and the heavy curtain kept out the light nicely, so we had a good night's sleep. Had a nice dinner of steak frites and a drop of decent local ale. Breakfast is provided in the cafe across the road, and it was good. Very good value for money.

Staff are lovely!! Prefer giving breakfast order the night before and much prefer the portion sizes of food. Room spotless & staff excellent!
Breakfast - food is great, I ordered a roll & sausage - was perfect - however on previous visits breakfast included either a pot of tea or a pot of coffee that was made at the bar. Good quality coffee in a cafetière. Was very disappointed to have the same coffee/tea sachets for breakfast that are available in most hotel rooms. For me, it’s unacceptable to have coffee sachets at breakfast. Takes less time to fire out a few coffee pots than wait for large urn to boil! Ditch the huge urn!!!
