As the hotel is closing at the end of October this info might be superfluous. The hotel was in a lovely location and the rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge chatting over a drink in the evenings. Staff were very polite and helpful, especially when being asked for extra hangers and a fan, as no air conditioning , as well as another light bulb. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of dishes.
I'm afraid our bugbear was the price of the menu in the dining room. So expensive. We ate there only one night of our stay from the limited lounge menu then ate out before our return.

Beautiful old home in superb setting with gorgeous garden. Rooms were comfortable although one has to make allowances in any old building for absence of air conditioning and so on. On the plus side it was quiet and peaceful without the hum and usual noises of modern hotels. I loved everything about this hotel from the staff to the decor in the library bar and lounge. Sadly we ate in the ballroom with its cheap imitation wood floor instead of the dining rooms, but the food was good and it was a truly fine dining experience so rare in the world today. Craig in the bar was a local we all loved and made our stay memorable. I hate giving good reviews because all it means is I can never get a room when I want one but my whole family and our guests loved this place. what more can I say?
The few small things I disliked did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for this hotel

The Hall is a beautiful, imposing country house and gardens nestled amongst some woodland by the small village of Eshott. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who checked us in and showed us where our dogs were welcome. Our room was light and comfortable with a huge bathroom including a bath and separate shower. We had views over the garden and stables. It was a winter night away and our room was toasty warm. There was tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water, even the dogs had a packet of treats each! We didn't dine in that evening but we had drinks in the cosy library where the dogs were happy to chill out with us. The barman was clearly a gentleman who was very experienced at working in his role and had the air of a butler. We slept well and went down for breakfast feeling well rested. We sat with the dogs in a smaller room just next to the main dining room. A fabulous waitress asked if our dogs would like sausages and she would organise that before seeing to us which was typical Northumbrian humour. We had continental style breakfast to begin with followed by Eshott breakfast for my husband and kippers for myself, all of which was delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was served in cafetieres and was good. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The setting was stunning and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly with no air of pretentiousness.
I cannot say there was anything I didn't like. Maybe my toast was a touch dark and that is me digging deep to find something. I'm sure if I'd said something they would have brought me more over.

The hotel and staff were incredibly nice.
Water pressure in the room was very poor and the breakfast was huge disappointment. I was actually shocked that such a splendid hotel would think this is acceptable. The full English was a plate which consisted of dry bacon, dry sausage, dry mushrooms, dry egg., dry and over cooked black pudding. The size of the portion could have been served in a small child’s bowl. You’re eating in a very very respectable hotel yet this was a embarrassment for the price paid. I for this wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely stay here with our cocker spaniel. There are plenty of positives to report, the surroundings, the grounds, the staff, the welcome, the linen, the food, the reception rooms, the building itself WOW.
However, for us the downside was the shower as the pressure of water in the bathroom (we were in Stable View) was very weak so the shower was not good enough for me to wash my hair. Also, the carpets could benefit from being cleaned in the corridors and our room and a deep clean removing dust from the bed frame and other areas would be beneficial. However, that said, we will definitely be returning although we would ask for a room with a shower that was more powerful.

Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic food for both breakfast and evening meal. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Bedroom was large, well lit, warm and comfortable. Lots of clothes storage space, hangers, drawers and bedside cabinets. Tea and coffee facilities available. TV and radio available. Free internet. Free on-site parking.
Nothing The only slight fault was that the cleanliness behind bedside tables could have been a little better, there were a few cobwebs.

Nice location in a quiet village, good spot to explore Northumberland . Grounds are impressive. Slept like a baby and breakfast was excellent. Would have no issues returning. Can see it would be a great wedding venue.
I stayed in the grange which was ok but as it’s a converted house you can hear upstairs footsteps and people coming in and out the front door ( I think the latter was more a lack of condensation from other guests) The room was comfortable but a little tired, you could see some previous painted over mould by the wardrobe and the bathroom floor grouting needed a proper clean. The hotel itself is quite dated but I understand I am clearly not the target demographic, would be nice to have an informal bar area to be able to drink in rather than the over formal lounge and dining offered.

A large country house in the countryside, near the A1. Rooms are large (with very high ceilings) and beds are comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Plentiful parking is available by the side of the hotel, and you can walk around the grounds. The evening restaurant serves a good dinner, with good food and excellent service.
Unfortunately the breakfast crew are not nearly as on-point as the evening dinner crew. One day it took a very long time to order breakfast, and another day the Full English breakfast items had clearly been cooked some time earlier and held under a hot lamp, so they were dry.

Our son had his wedding service and reception at Eshott - everything was absolutely fantastic the location the food the rooms all lovely, all the staff were so lovely and friendly and couldn’t have done more - the day went without a hitch, it was tremendous and made for an absolutely unforgettable day. Anybody looking for an wedding venue should certainly look to Eshott.
As I said previously our son had his wedding on the Saturday. We booked to stay the Friday night and the Saturday night of the wedding. We were advised that we could not have the same room for both nights so had to change on the morning of the wedding. The staff did their best to ensure a smooth changeover but for, obvious reasons it was very inconvenient.

We were in one of the stable rooms separate to the main building which made it very private which was really nice. The bathroom was massive with big walk in shower and a roll top bath fit for 2. On arrival and spotting lots of dogs, we enquired about dogs staying...they don't mention on Booking but is on their website...pet friendly! just say in advance as think some rooms may not be, we were lucky to already have been allocated one of those rooms, dog sitter no longer required. Dogs get a free sausage at breakfast time! Lovely walk around the property and woods. Was able to get a wine cooler and glasses from the bar to take to the room.
For the big roll top bath, I would expect bath robes to really enjoy the experience. Unfortunaly there were some staffing problems at breakfast which made for very slow service but they let us have a extended late check out for free and were allowed to stay on site to go for a walk. The WiFi was terrible, possibly due to being the furthest away room but for the price should have boosters. My phone couldn't pick it up at all but my partner just managed to get a dodgy signal with phone balanced on the head board.
