Beautiful grounds, nice bedrooms, staff was friendly and helpful. Pool was nice although changing rooms could do with updating.

The big thing that let it down for us was the Linden Tree pub. Staff weren’t exactly friendly. Food and Drink massively over priced!!! Was over charged then asked for money back and staff weren’t happy about this is be aware of your receipts before leaving. Such a shame because this was the only thing that let it down in our eyes. I also heard another family complaining. I don’t mind paying for nice food and good service but unfortunately you get neither here.

The location was perfect as an overnight stay ahead of a working day on Monday. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The breakfast quoted at £24 per head was far too expensive hence we opted to make alternative arrangements, dinner same at £48 per head seemed too high hence we ventured out on Sunday evening and enjoyed a meal for 2 for around £50. The bathroom was not entirely satisfactory with messy paint around the toilet seat and limescale around the sink and shower plus the bathroom door did not easily close.

beautiful gardens , gorgeous lounges and common areas, great dog friendly room with corridor access to car park. great staff, really accommodating. very clean and tidy. lovely clean spa with steam and sauna. great dog walking path in front of hotel and along side of golf course, and good pub within grounds with open fire and classic food well done. all for a reasonable price.

I would have to be picky to find something here. there were a few too many messages between booking and staying, promotions mainly and encouraging the fine dining. the only one about the hotel is the lighting in the grounds front of hotel. it’s so beautifully designed with mature gardens and lawns. the garden lights are like a hockey pitch in your face. they should be angled up or down away from direct eyesight to highlight paths or trees of parts of buildings, but they are just in your face not showing off anything and very unsexy. an easy fix

Reception on arrival very poor . Too busy on phone on arrival talking to house keeping for a room upgrade . After 10 minutes after her call ended checked in!!! No greeting hello anything 😭 1st impression was NILx0 shocking nearly walked out the door to go home on a very bad night weather wise ( Very icy cold and snowing at 7pm check in) 1st December 2023. At Linden hall hotel. Charged me £180 but corrected it finally 5 minutes later it was on booking .com at £119.20 room only and was charged for 2 breakfast at £18 per head X2 = £36. Total cost £155.20p. Treatments etc charged to the room. Sharon was her name very sharp, rude needs a learn or retraining in customer service very old school !!!!1/10 let's the full team down which all turned out to be outstandingfrom managers, spa staff, restaurant breakfast staff only. Bar man very good over and above and went that extra mile for us!.

Reception on arrival only. Rooms little tried stained carpets ,walls cracked, 122 room Lots of marks on the ceiling and dirty stained marked carpets 😭 which need attention to detail on a 4 star hotel .

It felt special to stay in these large private grounds, in an old stately home. Good location for exploring Holy Island, Alnwick and other tourist spots.

A pity that on the 1 fine day we were there, the Golf clubhouse was closed by 5pm, so we could not enjoy an evening round of golf in the sun. The 3rd bed requested for an additional child in 2 rooms was really only suitable for small children, not 11+ yrs old! It wasn't full size and only had a thin mattress. We requested a thicker mattress but had to make do with 2 thin mattresses put on top of each other... not ideal but we managed.

The room was very nice apart from it obviously could be used as a communicating room with next door and we could hear everything they said in the next room which was disappointing and annoying. The evening meal in the evening was very good.

I thought the breakfast was pretty lack lustre for £18 continental and £24 for cooked breakfast. I only ever have coffee, cereals and toast so to pay £18 I felt was over the top. The cereals were pretty ordinary and nothing special in the fresh fruit and yogurt departments either and ordinary sliced bread for the toast - not the best breakfast I have had. Perhaps they should look at incorporating the breakfast into the price for the room - I definitely wouldn’t pay that again !

Staff in all departments were nice and friendly. Bedroom was a lovely size and plenty tea/coffee making for the room. Entering the swimming pool area was fine and easy. Evening meal was lovely and the dining room was spacious. Never felt rushed in any way even though they were busy. Breakfast was great, lots of choice for continental or cooked. Service at both these meals was lovely. Would like to come back one day, hopefully. Gardens looked lovely around the property, unfortunatley weather was not on our side to take a walk around before we had to leave. Nice big FREE car parking for your vehicle

My only thing was passing through the small corridor where the treatment rooms are, the doors were a bit on the smeared look with products??? Oily marks, not great on your outdoor clothes.

Food in courtyard bar was good and staff here were superb. Lounge areas were quiet and comfortable. Enjoyable breakfast in the dining room - pity dining room was shut through the week for dinner. Breakfast staff were friendly and efficient. The gardens and walks in the grounds were lovely.

The bedrooms were a bit tired, dark and situation above service area was a bit noisy and not an attractive outlook. The shower head fell on me from a broken shower head holder - fortunately no injury. This was promptly actioned by house staff and maintenance team.

I had a very enjoyable break with my sisters and brothers-in-law.The grounds around the hotel are beautifully kept and there were nice walking paths. Food and drink were available I the Linden Tree throughout the day. We were very lucky to have excellent weather and could enjoy the sun loungers at the spa centre.

On arrival I was allocated an attic room on the second floor. The ceiling sloped and the window was so high up that I would have had to stand on a chair to look out. When I went to reception there was no trouble moving me to a first floor room with a proper window. I often find as a solo traveller I am put into inferior rooms. I feel this is discrimination in the hotel business. I was told it was because I would have a smaller restaurant spend. I cannot see that the quantity that I eat and drink is related to the size or quality of my bedroom.

Some very kind, helpful staff, particularly the night porter. Lovely setting, warm and cozy in the cold weather. The room was cleaned to a good standard.

We had wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant on our first evening for a birthday celebration. We booked via the text link we were sent. The restaurant wasn't open and we were booked into the pub on site. We did not understand this and it was not made clear to us. It was very nice and the meal was good but not the experience we had hoped for.
