Breakfast was excellent, just as we ordered, served swiftly on hot plates, tasty and plentiful. Porridge deserves particular mention, creamy and delicious. The central village location was ideal for our needs (visiting family nearby). Pleasant area at the rear of the property with outdoor seating - no view, but then we didn’t expect one!

Our room was one of several self contained chalets situated across the pub yard/car park. Clean and with all the basic facilities expected of overnight accommodation these days, it initially felt a bit stark. I didn’t like the bright lights around the bathroom mirror - but we weren’t in the place long enough to even take the time to find out how to turn them off - and I suppose they were useful for the inevitable night time visits!! So very little not to like really.

Chalet room away from pub and parking outside. Large, comfortable bed and brilliant sleep! Large room and bathroom. Plenty of plug sockets.

No information pack or indication of Wi-fi password in room. Only realised this once in bed, so rang up to enquire. Connected straight to answer phone (9.30pm), but never received a reply. Hence, unable to use laptop ... extremely frustrating and inconvenient. Having to pay extra for breakfast, even though it was good, plus exceptionally loud music in dining area.

ideal stop off on our cycle route on King Alfred’s Way about 80k from the start at Winchester very friendly staff good food , beer and especially good breakfast Debbie and the team were great. Arnie the Great Dane was a real star! the rooms were perfect - the large room comfortably accommodated 4 plus our bikes . the ride back up the hill to get back on the route was a perfect warm up for the rest of the second day,,

Great location just off King Alfred's Way. Able to keep our bikes in our room which is great and saves worrying about their security. Good food with large helpings for dinner in the pub. Very friendly staff and Great Dane - Arnie. Cooked breakfast was excellent.

Slight mix up in the rooms meant only one duvet on our twin beds had a cover on, and when asked for another cover we were given a sheet. Although the cooked breakfast was very good, it would have been great to have some buffet cereals and fruit/yoghurt available alongside.

Stayed here during a bike ride on King Alfred’s Way. Had a lovely warm welcome from the Landlady who let us hose the dust off our bikes and store them in our rooms. Rooms are a very good size with all facilities needed. The pub is a really good local with great friendly staff. Food is good pub fare and we had the pie of the day which was the best steak pie I’ve had in a long time. Great breakfast in the morning. Fully recommend the Green Dragon

The big hill to ride in the morning, but that’s more to do with my legs than the Green Dragon😂

Room was lovely, brightly furnished, spotlessly clean with a great shower. Food was excellent, lots of vegetarian options, great and a great selection of local beers. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful staff. No complaints. A great stay and perfect for the Wessex Ridgeway.

TV had so many stations that it was almost impossible to find anything to watch. To much choice!

The pub was excellent and I was impressed with th hospitality and atmosphere very good service. Parking was located to the rear and the garden and garden huts were most attractive and practical. Being in the centre of the village added to the interest.

The drain to the shower area in the disabled facilities needed cleaning judging by the spread of the water I think it may have been partially blocked needs attention Minor did not spoil my stay at all and I mention it so that it can be checked before it becomes more serious.

Breakfast was very good, but having been asked for a specific time, and opted for the earliest time offered it was disappointing to have to wait 15minutes or more before it arrived, when the time available was short. Unobtrusive but very effective air conditioning to the bedrooms was a godsend for the very hot weekend we stayed.

See above but it seems the only breakfast available was a selection from the composite parts or the "full English". Cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread/toast options with spreads would have been a welcome alternative.

Extremely spacious room, staff were extremely accomodating. The added bonus of a resident Great Dane in the pub was a fan added extra, what a gentle giant. The kids adored him. Staff got me a cot and offered to help set up. Room was lovely and warm and had all we could need.

Beautiful little pub, everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, were the rooms are it's away from the pub so it was surprisingly quiet so it's perfect to relax, breakfast and the roast were lovely if I am ever around this area again I will deffently try to book again
