This is a beautiful place in a great location. My son and I enjoyed sitting in the sun, next to the river, drinking lager after a hard day's riding at the Dave Thorpe Honda Off-road Centre. The staff and other guests were really friendly, the food was excellent and the rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The cost of drinks would probably stop me from visiting again.

The breakfasts were AMAZING! The staff are all so friendly and just lovely. The food in the bar/restaurant was really good. We had such a great experience that I'd recommend this hotel to everyone that wanted a good base for North Devon and Exmoor National Park.

The beds were a bit hard for us, however you can't please everyone's personal mattress taste!

Great staff, food and location for hiking.

No water pressure in the shower, although pressure in the faucet worked well. Owner must have put a plug into the pipe to save water, resulting in a 15 minute hair wash. It was heavily raining and water is definitely NOT a rare source. Even walls were wet and lots of very unhealthy mold visible in our ‚superior‘ room.

Our room was very well appointed, comfortable and very clean, including the ensuite. Food was exceptionally good ...we dined in the restaurant but the bar food looked delicious too. My husband appreciated the vast choice of quality whisky. We stayed over a weekend and it was lovely to see the place bustling. Very friendly staff.

The only slightly negative comment we would make is that our room had no view other than rooftops, but it was a very last minute booking so probably the last room available.

The breakfast was excellent, staff super friendly and welcoming. The cleanliness of the room was excellent and our pet was most welcome too. The location really good for touring Exmoor. A great place to stay

Absolutely nothing.

Breakfast was Superb with all anyone could expect. Staff were approachable and friendly. The Inn had a great ambiance and the meal menu good and well cooked and presented

There was nothing to dislike.

Lovely quiet country Inn. Great breakfasts. Comfy beds. Historical building. As a horsey person, it was lovely seeing the horses go by in the morning.

Needs some renovation. Not quite as photos suggest. Not cleaned under bed. Not sure what the pillows were as they felt more like cushions.

We booked a four night stay and ended up being caught in storm Franklin! Hence no electricity after our first night. All the staff went out of their way to look after us with the limited resources they had.. We were offered a thermos of hot water to take to the room for morning hot drinks. The wood burning stoves provided heat, and somehow they managed to produce a full breakfast each morning. All the staff were informative and kept us up to date with the village being cut off due to fallen trees. An incredible team which means we will be going back again.

It was a shame about the weather, but the White Horse is not to blame for that.

Lovely country side stay, room was comfortable and has everything you need. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. A lot of walks around the area with beautiful views.

Only thing is that our window opens to the car park so not much of a view.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff couldn't have been friendlier but not obtrusive. The hotel retained an old fashion charm, but had been modernised to expected standards. They have managed to get the right balance.

Checkin was from 3. We arrived at 4.50. We were only there for one night and we had a complimentary cream tea each, between 3-5. Had we known, we would have arrived nearer 3. I am sure that it would have been delicious.
