The staff were fantastically friendly and helpful, organising early check in and taxis. The hotel and pub is also dog friendly which was great.
Only slight issue was that I had thought that our rate included breakfast. In the rooms it said that it didn't and I couldn't access my original booking just the rooms type on Booking.com so couldn't verify that. The breakfast we did have was delicious and very good value. No view from the room - well except the car park but that was not an issue for us as were literally just sleeping there. The hotel is very close to a major road but there was no noise from there although there was a bit of noise from School Lane where the hotel is located.

We entered the bar/reception area ,greeted nicely and checked in with no problems. Immediately the atmosphere smell of food and all round quality of our surroundings hit us. We had the Weaver room on the first floor and again quality, space and cleanliness was abundant. The property retains an old type of charm but a touch of luxury here and there. Some creaks with lot's of chic if you will. We had a delicious evening meal and a few pints of the local beer. We slept really well and our bathroom facilities were excellent. We didn't have breakfast and checked out very happy indeed.
The breakfast option is pay as you go, our opinion was you could rack up quite a bill buying a decent breakfast having individual items. The hotel is obviously happy with this arrangement and I'm sure the breakfast would be every bit as good as the evening fayre but not for us unfortunately.

Best hotel in Hartford; very lively bar and restaurant area that is nicely decorated; large menu and good food; nice sized rooms with cute decor.
Because this is an older building, the floors creak and the rooms, although very nicely styled, feel a bit damp due to the wet weather in this part of the country. It has absolutely not stopped me staying in the hotel numerous times, but is perhaps good to know.

Excellent Breakfast menu , comfortable large bed , helpful staff available to cater for any requests , good evening meal. Nice setting in the cheshire country side with a real rural pub feel.
Very old historic building, the ancient uneven squeaky floor boards outside of the room in the corridor although intially charming became an annoyance with people continually passing the bedroom door, during the heat wave in June it was a very warm room under the eves with only a small desk fan to try an cool us down;

Only stayed one night for a wedding staff excellent
Room bit all over really looked like modern features were tried to be had with old colours on walls carpet not good and the modern lamps did not go at all in the room . Lamp over load so looked cramped full of lamps and did not go with the drab paint colours. Think that someone tried to modernise the room with various modern touches but did not work with paint colour and old carpet . Given room price without breakfast feel its over priced

The room was absolutely stunning and so comfortable. Beautiful soft furnishings and decor. Great radio, nespresso machine and lots of space. Would stay again as room was very high standard and perfect temperature.
Decided to eat in the pub itself- BIG MISTAKE! The menu choices sounded delicious and very tempting but did not live up to expectation. The service was non-existent as if we were invisible. Staff having length conversations with each other and really didn't want to be there. Zero customer service. Ordered a bottle of wine which was plonked on the table and left so we took the top off and served ourselves. Long wait to order and between courses. Food tasted of grease and deep fry and was a very poor standard. Would NOT recommend eating at this venue.

Absolutely loved the decor, the location, the coffee machine and the friendly, helpful staff. We had dinner at the pub one night and it was absolutely delicious. The location is great for daytrips to Chester Zoo or elsewhere.
How noisy it was from the main road- there were many boy racers who raced up and down the road and as the windows were single glazed, you could hear everything. I also found the mattress too hard, but I do have back issues so that's a "me problem". It would also be nice to have a better soundproofed door to the room as you can hear everything from the corridor. Oh, and a bathroom towel rail that can be turned on in the room in order to dry the towels.

The room was lovely, unfortunatley that the upstairs neighbours were rather heavy footed, but it was still a lovely stay. Enjoyed the additional touches like the coffee machine, complementary water, snack and a helpful fact sheet. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very nicely decorated and even provided a fan which was great with the warm weather.
Literally the only think is that in our room there was a very lovely vintage mirror with a shelf chained to it (was a drop down shelf from the mirror) above our sink, as lovely as it looked however, it made it quite annoying when brushing your teeth or trying to wash your face as you couldn't access the sink properly without putting your head right under the shelf, so was a bit of a pain, but that is literally it.

The friendly barside check-in. The service and food quality at dinner. Quiet sloping gardens at rear for the dog to run about. Room well appointed. Great shower.
Breakfast service was less clued up. The 12.50 breakfast option as advertised was not on after all. Instead, it was a la carte. A full proper breakfast with all the drinks would have been around 20.00 each. It was great quality but just wasn't what we were expecting. Some peeling paint and tired window catch in the room but very comfortable overall.

The hotel was beautifully clean and the rooms were tastefully furnished. It felt very high-end. It is twice/three times as nice as the well-known nearest chain rival and all the better for being away from the busy dual carriageway. It is really well-located yet still lovely and quiet.
Nothing to complain about, except check- in was in the bar and it was a little frantic as a result, because staff were multitasking. But it was Boxing Day. This is a very upmarket motel really, with a great bar/pub at the front end and a well-organised annex off to the side. You need to go out and back in again to get to the rooms.
