The room was excellent in every way comfort, cleanliness supplies and maintaience. full of character building preserved beutifully. Parking is not an issue go out of the building turn left after the river bridge turn right on street free from 6 untill 11 or dont turn at bridge and park roadside for free unrestricted

The service in the downstairs bar was beyond unacceptable waiting times for service was rediculous staff wandered off to do other things being told we are understaffed is not customers problem we used the London Inn opposite just as cheap for food and drink served promptly with a smile

The room was very nice with excellent bathroom and a nice electric Kettle and everything you'd need

We had two frustrations. The first one was with the parking. The Hotel doesn't have an arrangement with the parking areas in front of it - we were sent to park on a street near by which wasn't so bad when we moved the car from the car park where we paid for it, but it wasn't pleasant when we had to go there with our laggage the following morning. The Other issue was with the downstairs pub/restaurant - on arrival we had supper there as it was very wet outside - but a pasta dish which we order turned out to be very very small - especially in comparison to the other dishes - it meant we had to order something else to call it supper.

Room was modern, clean and well stocked with tea/ coffee/ water. Room was serviced daily. Hotel had secure door between pub and hotel which made us feel safe and there was no disturbance from pub goers. Parking available a short walk away, as explained on website prior to booking. Breakfast and dinner not included but we had no issues with getting a table and ordering from Wetherspoons app in the pub downstairs.

The only downside to this stay was the parking but it is clearly explained on website prior to booking. Staff were informative in offering directions and information regarding long and short stay car parks nearby. It would have been helpful to have had a loading/ unloading bay to save walking with lots of luggage.

The Hotel was excellent, the executive family room was fab, very clean with comfy beds, great shower. The Staff were so good, we were able to go, to our room when we arrived approx 1pm, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel is in a lovely position great for walking and cycling on Dartmoor.

The room we had was directly above the bar, it was very noisy, particularly when the pub closed at 1am, customers took a while to leave. I appreciate there’s not a lot you do about this, also we could hear other guests chat until 3am…. This is an observation, not a criticism of the Hotel…..just wish I took some ear plugs!

Our room and en-suite were both very clean and well equipped. The breakfast choice was very good with variations on the English breakfast including wraps etc.

The parking! Oh what a shame. We have stayed here a few times. My husband is disabled and we have always been able to park at the rear of the building. However during the Covid-19 pandemic the garden seating was extended and this meant less disabled spaces. Now I totally understand that the company did this to survive the pandemic however they have not returned the spaces and I understand they are going to make some sort of permanent building there. There is parking on the roads (with time restrictions) and a car park nearby but it wasn’t the same.

Lovely, airy rooms with plenty of space. Comfortable beds and a proper shower. There are great tea/coffee facilities and ironing gear too. The rooms are surprisingly quiet, given they mostly face the main street. The staff here are brilliant, and should be commended for being helpful, friendly and accommodating. They really make you feel welcome. It's also handy to have food and drink at decent prices just downstairs. The hotel is friendly to cyclists and walkers too, with some bike storage facilities for example. I wouldn't go anywhere else on my visits to Okehampton.

The plumbing can be a little noisy, and there are one or two creaky floorboards, which may bother light sleepers, but it's just the nature of an historic building. The dining area downstairs was a bit chilly in the evenings for some reason, but I'm nitpicking to be honest!

The hotel is in the centre of the town and is a building of character and historical interest. It is more in the way of a big pub with many alcoves downstairs and with rooms upstairs. It also has an attractive beer garden. The room we had was clean, warm and comfortable. Everything worked. The staff were helpful.

We did not like the total lack of parking [except for unloading] and had to find parking a few roads away where parking is permitted after 17:00 until 10:00 the following morning. But the day after arrival we found space early in the morning at a pay and display [for about 10 cars] directly across the road from the hotel. [Standing at the hotel front door it is at the 10 o'clock position]. A bonus was that the pay meter instructions were in intelligible English, there was a graphic display of steps to follow, it took cash only, and it worked. Otherwise the kitchen needs to get a new toaster. Much of the toast was burned.

Beautiful room in the attic space. Small dorma windows looking over the street. And they open! Fantastic. Clean and fresh. Everything you need. Bed was amazingly comfy and the pillows too. There are stairs to most rooms... I would recommend checking...we were in the attic space. Fine for us but 3 and a half flights up! Receptionist was super friendly and so welcoming. We booked a second stay! And of course you have the option of eating your meals or having a drink downstairs too. Parking is available onstreet in Castle Road. Double check your parking times. It 'was' 6pm til 10 am. 3min walk away... Perfect!

The wetherspoon group has put a lot of money into making their rooms and the hotel part really well groomed; everything works and is to high spec. Okehampton where I stayed Is a really good example of the whole piece working, keep it up and don't change anything ! (the model does work)- However, if you went to Rochester in Kent, Hotel/Wetherspoon's you need to completely change the staff as they are Medway entitled types and detract from a prime example of something good like Okehampton, Devon.

Crikey- nothing, I even asked for some writing paper that they did not have and said have you any A4 and a biro... answer was yes we can help with that... VERY RARE to SEE this !!!!

This hotel is excellent . It is always a good place to stay and always meets above my expectations. Staff are good and reception staff outstanding. The location is good with good bus services and a bus stop opposite which enables transport up the hill to the station which has an excellent service to Exeter. Okehampton is a small town but has a good, classic Victorian park with extended walks. There is the castle and it is the start of The Granite Way along the disused part of the old railway. The hotel is bang in the middle of town and next to tourist information. I have learnt that Wetherspoons hotels are always good but this one is outstanding - highly recommended. Staff incredibly knowledgeable. Rooms are high spec.
