The owners Chris and Maria were very friendly; Breakfast was cooked to my needs between 8 and 9 every morning; There was enough space in the private driveway for my car; The location was only a few minutes walk from the beach/train station/other tourist destinations at the heart of Paignton and right opposite to the entrance to Victoria Park. I was in the single room which had a comfortable double bed and was decorated in a modern design.

Being in the only Single room the only downside was there was no en-suite, but I did have sole access to a private bathroom a short distance down the hallway so this wasn't as much of an issue if it was a communal one.

Stayed sept 10th to 17th 2021 Chris & Maria where exceptional and made you feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had car trouble as battery decided to pack up and Chris jumped started us as was going out that day and told us to call him if trouble getting back and would come out to us and get us started.. how many would do this? Was like visiting friends so much so we have already booked with them for next year Breakfast was superb and was great to have a time option s In an ideal location for beach pier and shops Couldn’t fault it or Chris & Maria in any way as we have been to B&Bs over the years and this one is defiantly up there and would highly recommend to anyone that are looking for B&B in this area can’t rate it enough 😀

If I have to do a very small negative shower low in pressure, however I do know Chris & Maria are doing house up for next year so May be a job on there list?

Comfortable bed 🛌, attention to detail, unobtrusive but friendly owners, cute and friendly dog, only introduced on request, good facilities, local knowledge accessible and very helpful. EXCELLENT full English 👌🏻 breakfast with the best poached egg 🥚 🪺 I've ever tasted and has a 🚗 car parking space. There is so much to do and see in Paignton. Beautiful, clean beach ⛱️.

Single accommodation does not have an en suite. It's not ideal for those middle of night trips. However, it is well lit. The light switch is outside the bathroom.

Breakfast was superb with bacon, choice of egg, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans, butcher’s sausage and hogs pudding, toast with homemade bread and marmalade, fresh fruit, fruit juice a selection of cereals. The hosts were extremely friendly and generous. The room and whole guest house was tastefully decorated and spotless. There’s even a suntrap front garden area where guests are welcome to sit. We had tea making facilities in our room with fresh tap water supplied daily and a variety of complimentary teas, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits. The location is ideal for visiting Paignton with the beach, shops etc in walking distance. The Belle Dene is also a good base from which to visit any of the English Riviera or South Devon. We could not fault this gem of a guest house!

Chris and Maria were exceptional hosts and made us feel very welcome from the off. The breakfast was outstanding and the opportunity to tailor it to your liking (e.g. white/brown bread) was a lovely touch. The rooms were spotless with plenty of cute extras and amenities. Location was perfect and there was a helpful guide in our rooms to help us with restaurants for the evenings. We got a great night's sleep and the hotel was quiet! We would definitely recommend this B&B and we hope to return someday soon!

I spent two wonderful days in Paignton despite the bad weather. Chris and Maria did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They are wonderful hosts who make you feel very safe and welcome. The breakfast was very lovingly prepared and served according to taste. The room was cosily furnished with a very comfortable bed and everything else you might need. I will definitely come again.

Nothing to complain about.

We were met by Chris and Marie when we arrived and from the moment we got there, they were so friendly and helpful, offered to carry our case, showed us to the room which was spotless and comfortable and very quiet and had tea and coffee making facilities. There was a great manual in the room showing places to eat and things to do in the area. We pre-ordered our breakfast and there was a wide choice for the next morning and it was freshly cooked when we got down and tasted lovely, there was plenty of tea, coffee fruit as well. The location was only a few minutes walk to the Pier and the beach. We needed a taxi for the Saturday evening and Chris even drove us where we needed to be, really going above and beyond our expectations. They really were great hosts and if we visit Paignton again we would definitely stay with them again.

Hosts were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Guesthouse was spotless and the breakfast was exceptionally good in fact everything about the stay exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and we would also stay there again.

Everything was excellent.

We were amongst the first guests for the new owners, so I think they were settling in as much as we were! The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. We had a great welcome, even a fresh cuppa and a slice of cake before we went to our room! A homely feel with very friendly hosts

Not really a criticism, especially as the owners were new but we booked breakfast for 8am and it didn't arrive for 40 mins. We were there for leisure but had we needed to be on our way sooner, this might have caused an issue. However, the breakfast was well catered and very tasty, with a myriad of options to suit most tastes and requirements.

The hosts were so kind and accommodating, it really sets apart what you get from a guest house compared to a traditional hotel. The breakfast was lovely and quite customisable to suit your needs. Cleanliness was spot on, what a lovely stay.

Very hard to give any form of criticism, although the room could have had some more plug sockets near the beds (twin room) and the shower could have had more pressure.
