The warm welcome from the moment of our arrival set the tone for the week. Graham and Katarina are amazing friendly hosts. The breakfast was always freshly cooked and plentiful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beds were very comfortable what more could we want. Location was perfect too, 2 minutes to the beach and shops and 5 minutes to the train station. Very child friendly too, my grandchildren were spoilt by Katarina and Graham. We all loved the resident cats Coco and Dave! We will definitley stay here again.

Very good location, friendly owners, 2 nice cats! Everything I needed in room. Very good quality breakfast and pleasant breakfast room with view of flowers in front garden. Immaculately clean and traditional b+b ambiance.

No on street parking but knew this in advance so parked in known free parking area about 8 mins walk away. For me the pressure of the shower wasn't very good but have to bear in mind I got very good price so not complaining too much. Not the owners fault but smoking allowed on front patio and 2 smokers sat down there at same time so I had to move away.

Location convenient for walking into town or along the sea front. Also within easy reach of station and bus routes. Attractive decoration in public rooms. Cooked breakfast (with items chosen the previous evening) served fresh and was good quality. Reasonable choice of fruit and cereals for a small hotel. Bedroom small but well presented.

Bathroom (shower + loo) very small with basin outside in the bedroom. Nearest car park (Victoria), is run down, difficult to use (narrow bays, poor signage, dimly lit) and I would be unwilling to go there alone at night. While only the major hotels in this area have their own car parks, and on-street parking is understandably restricted, it would have been helpful to have better advance advice on parking options.

The welcomed and homely feeling that was provided throughout. The food was amazing, I loved every minute being there. The place was clean and the decor was beautiful, loved the paintings in the dining room. The hosts were lovely, kind, and humorous; which made me smile and am grateful for. The little tiny door decoration in the hallway was a cute little touch. Leaflets were available to show activities nearby. Toilet was great too, provided the necessities and more too. It was perfect for a 'one person' stay :)

That I was too busy during the day and needing to be at a friend's weddings to really enjoy the amenities and other things that the guest house had to offer. And that I was too shy to socialise with the hosts who were very sweet !

Amazing location, lovely staff, breakfast was incredible and got to choose exactly what we wanted which was perfect as my son was able to just have his beans on toast (he's autistic so a little fussy) but the staff were great with him! rooms were lovely and clean and homely with personal touches!

Nothing I didn't like - only a minor suggestion would be to have a fan. As the room was very warm, and when windows were open the seagulls were very loud (I know it's by the sea) and I love that sound. But not all night, so a fan would go down well so you are able to close windows so a little quieter :)

The hotel was perfectly situated and walking distance to the beach, shops, cinema, fair, train station, plenty of food options locally. We managed to park the car up and walk everywhere. The hotel was lovely and very welcoming, the hosts where amazing friendly, they could not do enough for us even making our little grandson pancakes and Nutella every morning, which he loved, the hotel was clean and comfortable. Graham and his wife are so lovely, we will definitely be back next year and would highly recommend to anyone. Fantastic!!!! ❤️

Nothing it was great

The owners are the best !! They made us feel so welcome and we’re very helpful. The rooms are spotless, fresh towels and items being replenished ( toilet rolls , coffees, milk ) The breakfast at the Haldon is wonderful as my son said each morning “ This is the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever eaten “ the cooked breakfast is of great quality with cereals and even homemade danishes. Fresh coffee / juice waiting for you . The location is perfect, situated right next to the sea front and all amenities. This is our second stay at the Haldon and we will definitely be returning for a third . Looking forward to our next stay in 2024.

Loved it all !!

Central location close to all amenities and the beach! My room was very clean and very comfortable, the duvet was super soft and warm. My bathroom was of a similar standard. The house itself was spotless. The owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. My stay was also great value for money. I will certainly be staying again when visiting Paignton!

Nothing was wrong at all with my stay at the Haldon.

The owners are fabulous. So welcoming and friendly. They took an interest in what I was doing and helped with suggestions. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The location was excellent. The breakfast was very tasty. The room was spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay again as you're made to feel more like a family member than a guest.

The bed was a little uncomfortable for me.

The location, close to all you could want. The breakfast was excellent. The room was cosy.

There was a minor problem with noise due to nearby demolition work. If you don't like cats (I do) then this place may not be for you but if you want an affordable place in a central location to use as a base while you explore, this place is fine. I was unable to raise the temperature of the shower on day 1 but I could on Day 2.
