Brilliant location, lovely staff, good food and entertainment. We took our 9 year old granddaughter, the hotel is mostly geared up for adults but they cooked different food for her and made her very welcome. We loved the conservatory, lots of seating to relax by the sea. We had a patio area which gave access to public garden, pretty to walk out into. 5 min walk to the ferry or bus station, 1 min to the beach.

The hotel needs a little tlc in places but it was comfortable for a short stay. Our room was below the dining room so a little noisy in the morning but I would definitely stay there again in a different room.

Great location on Paignton seafront & friendly staff. Sitting rooms with sea views and comfy lounge for evening entertainment. Our twin room was ample size, en-suite plus garden views. Great breakfasts had lots of choice, table service with a smile, nice Garden views and partial sea views were a pleasant bonus. & no washing up! FREE Car Park at front of hotel plus few more spaces and coach parking off street.

Very minor points :- Wi-fi only connected near the bar not throughout. The Elevator worked great but several steps to some rooms provided less mobility.

A clean and comfortable hotel in a prime location on the esplanade. The room was bright, tastefully decorated and a good size. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Entertainment was provided in the bar during the evenings.

The shower was not very powerful. The food at breakfast was quite variable. Car parking at the hotel is a bit of a lottery as spaces cannot be reserved. With the hotel offering all-day parking for £5 to non-residents, this only compounded the parking situation. On checking in, we were not asked to sign in or give our vehicle registration number. This was rectified later after we had spoken to another member of staff.

We especially liked some of the staff especially molly and the other young ladies serving behind the bar .. The young man who said he had been there for 18 years was a little abrupt at times but fairly Proffesional.. The food was good that we had but we only had breakfast

I personally think charging £10 a night for our pet is unfair because it wasn't made clear to us until we got there and if they want to charge people should be told so as not to get a nasty surprise when they arrive .. We had even called the hotel prior to going and the lady on reception didn't tell us then and to be fair what is the money for the dog just sleeps on the floor in our room so if the hotel wants to attract pet owners to I don't believe there should a cost ..

Everything was good. They changed our room because it was a lower ground floor that was on street level and the window was accessable for anyone to climb in Also the rubbish bins were stored just outside our window They gave us a room on the first floor with a wonderful view of the sea Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from staff were very polite friendly. Nothing was too much trouble We tried to stay another night. But unfortunately all their rooms were booked

Staff were helpful and happy to serve. They were also hilarious and a good laugh after we got to know each other Treated us to a cream tea even when we booked in just after they stopped serving the lunch time menu. The bar was also good place to relax. Ended up on the enclosed veranda overlooking the sea enjoying a beer and the sun most evenings. Breakfast was great. I expected a buffet style, serve yourself arrangement but was pleasantly surprised by waiter service. Food was good. They didn't skimp on the beans, mushrooms and fried tomato for health. The inclusion of half a slice of fried bread was an added treat and is sadly becoming something of a rarity (along with black pudding) on so called breakfast included deals. Bed was comfy and the room had everything we needed (and a hairdryer for the better half). Bathroom was a little small but the shower was powerful and hot.

Décor is becoming tired in places. I mention this only to manage expectations. This is a functional hotel offering all the essential amenities in a great location for a great price. Look elsewhere if you want boutique, stunning architecture or a jacuzzi.

Breakfast was great,a few choices table service and exceptional staff.especially molly,Millie and Sam.Chou can choose from full English,poached egg on toast,scrambled eggs,kippers,egg and soldiers.toast ,marmalade,tea/coffee.we booked evening meals aswell,there was as good choice,starter,main,and desert.but would have liked a plainer menu that’s just our opinion.prefer more traditional food,like apple pie,custard,sticky toffee pudding etc..And we found dinner rather to up market for us but loved the tomatoe and pepper soup.but. It was all worth the price.The room were very clean in fact everywhere was spotless.the staff well,they were fantastic,happy accommodating nothing was to much trouble.well done all .

Nothing we didn’t like atall,everything was as it should be,you can even substitute something you didn’t like for something else on the menu.I.E if you don’t like mushrooms you could substitute for a extra egg or sausage etc.

The hotel is on the sea front, very clear rooms, excellent value for money. Dog friendly, room provided at breakfast time so my dog could stay with me during breakfast and a good breakfast. A small portable oil radiator was provided in the room friendly and welcoming staff On site parking but first come. Wi-Fi but only in the bar area

The shower water did not warm up even after running the shower for a period of time. The heating was on a timer and the room was cold in the evenings. On the first morning of my stay, I was informed when entering the breakfast area that dogs were not allowed in. (Although I pre booked and paid for the dog to stay) However, they did take my order and brought my breakfast down to my bedroom. This was sorted on the second morning and a separate room was provided.

Everything from 1st contact with the staff at reception to check out the staff were welcoming friendly nothing was to much trouble.the breakfast was lovely with a very good choice with table service which was served brilliantly served by the breakfast staff The reception bar restaurant area's were clean and well kept,the route from the lift was to our room was down 4 steps and up another 4 steps the room was clean tidy with plenty of clothing space,there was a good supply of tea and coffee. We paid extra for a sea view room and wasn't disappointed there was a large window with two lounge chairs and a side table to sit with a cuppa and watch the world to go by

Staff were excellent. Room was lovely and warm, drain worked and shower was piping hot also! Location was brilliant, it felt magical almost, never been to Paignton before. The room had a little corridor and then the room and a bathroom with a shower and the hottest towel rail ever. So cosy and soft white towels. Clean and comfortable for a one night stay. Breakfast was served and waited by kind, well mannered and patient staff, good choices of starter and main breakfast choices. Chairs and tablecloths seemed new and well laundered. Staff were working like bees getting the place ready and there is some nice corniche is it on the ceiling in the bar area... I don't drink, just being nosy before I left. The place looked massive in the morning and the car park is a challenge, like most little car parks on the coast! However, there are spaces and they do try to accommodate. Dogs can be walked on the beach, I am not sure if there is a lead order locally. Lots of ppl seemed to be walking their dog offlead (still March, not April yet) The beach itself is peaceful. Mixture of sand and stone and the waves were quite gentle and seemed mesmerising, there are plenty of lights including some town led lights that seem to be quite pretty and lots of steps down to the beach. Really mellow there, like a cross between Teignmouth and WSM. Looks like the train station is pretty close too, but we drove down this time.

You know, I got this place for a very reasonable price and with breakfast and I was expecting something worse and it was really nice. Lots of little touches and I can't say that I didn't like anything.
