Great location just off the motorway so easily accessible, nice sized rooms with a very comfortable bed. Toiletries are provided white company so good quality. Mattress was nice and soft. Spa pool and steam room are lovely.

Im vegan which was stated on booking but the bedding is goose down. The restaurant is rather over priced it was nice food but jothing exceptional and it comes with an exceptional price tag. Jacuzzi is very underpowered and luke warm and as a couples trip I want to sit and chat to my partner in the sauna but it was in the changing room so single gender. I don't think it would be that difficult to rearrange doors so that couples or mixed gender friends could sit and chat when using facilities rather than be in separate rooms. Breakfast was a slightly odd process. I'm used to buffet style ordering a starter and a cooked breakfast with no sight of quantities was difficult to judge how much I'd want.

The breakfast was very good. Liked the table service for the main course.

Booking.com customers had to pay £15 per person for a 48hour pass to the pool facilities. The menu for evening meals was quite limited.

Loved the open fire places, all the staff we encountered were warm & friendly, bed super comfortable, close to commute to the other places we wanted to visit. Really close to a retail park if you’ve forgotten something or want to buy snacks/drinks. Dinner was superb!

I would recommend earplugs if you find noise a problem. Sound proofing in our room at least was very poor. Door also rattled if anyone nearby slammed their door or walked past with trolley etc. We solved that by sticking a towel under the door when in the room. Important to note that the reception team were accommodating about a room move if needed which was great (at first I thought it just was the adjoining door which was the issue).

The food was excellent, staff were lovely (there was a dog behind reception which my toddler LOVED!) The swimming pool was lovely and we got to enjoy great family time. The beds were super comfy and the milk dispenser in the corridor was a great touch for us, saved a trip up/down each morning and before bedtime for a glass of milk. Our son also enjoyed his personalised cookie upon check-in. Wonderful hotel for kids and families. Highly recommend!

Only that the pool wasn't super warm when we first got in, seems very nitpicky to even say it as everything else was wonderful at the hotel and you soon warmed up once you got moving in the water.

The spa and pool although we were charged to use the facilities but nobody checked if we had paid, so anyone could just walk in and other’s had paid at reception.

We asked for another robe in our room as there was only one and myself and husband wanted to use them to go to the pool, housekeeping brought me one and said “ you already have one in your room “ to which my husband replied we need 2. When I put the robe on it was soaking wet inside and in the pockets, it was obvious that my robe had been brought up from the spa and it was one that someone had worn earlier when they were wet from the pool.

I was given a really warm welcome as a solo traveller needing a room as a stop gap. Amazing food, breakfast and evening meal were delicious. Cute china Herdy mugs in the room were a nice touch. Coffee bags rather than sachets too. The open fires were gorgeous, and loved the decor and wooden beam ceilings. Lovely spa facilities. See note below. Overall I loved my night at this hotel and will definitely be back.

Having to pay extra for the spa was unclear which was a shame, several people checking in in front of me said the same. A hotel with a pool shouldn’t be charging extra for the pool when you arrive ! The reason people book a hotel with a pool is because they want to use it.

Lovely hotel in Penrith. Perfect location for exploring the north lakes if you’ve got a car. They have a very nice restaurant and the spa facilities are available for a small charge. Room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. They also provide little fresh milk bottles with the coffee and biscuits in the room which was a lovely touch.

The only thing was how thin the walls were. You could hear almost everything going on outside the room which is a little problematic for light sleepers. However they do provide ear plugs.

we loved the pool and facilities, enjoyed a massage this time which was wonderful. The Chateaubriand in the restaurant is to die for. Room was lovely and clean, bed was very comfortable. we use this as a halfway stop to my daughter in Dundee.

Everything about the property was spot on. only one little niggle and we would like it to be noted please, Carmen in the restaurant serving us was completely anti social and very much lacked any of the usual gaiety/ charm whichever way you would put it, the pleasantry and smile you would normally expect from a restaurant waitress of this caliber of establishment.

The breakfast and dinner were excellent. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge by the fire and having a drink. The room was clean, and the shower was great. If it's a rainy day, there is always something to do, like swimming, sauna, or using the fitness facility.

We have nothing to complain about the place. On Saturday evening, it can get lively with a lot of young people, but we didn't mind. It was lovely to see young women enjoying life. Easy place to find

Really nice modern room with quality fixtures. We had dinner on day 1 and bar small plates on day 2 and the food was great both on both occasions. Nice outdoor area to eat and drink and relax.

Breakfast or rather lack of it! Could'nt get an acceptable time. Can't believe a hotel of this stature cannot provide breakfast at a time convenient to guests. Spoke a few days before to book and they could only offer 8.15am or 10am which did not fit our plans. Offered in room but no table and we prefer the restaurant. Tried booking Day 2 breccy but they could only 'squeeze in' 7.15am which was no good so we had to go elsewhere, which was very good. We're in our 60's and travel all over UK/Euro and never come across this issue anywhere and have stayed at many similarly nice hotels.
