Very friendly hosts, the breakfast was great. Plenty there and they made sure they found out exactly what we liked and didn't like, making adjustments for this. The room was clean and tidy with traditional decorating which made it feel homely and cosy. Good sized shower cubicle and good water pressure. Everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. Free parking available on the street with provided permit or round the back if room. Short walk into the town, and a Sainsbury's just round the corner.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

The owners were very accommodating we were there to take part in a local sponsored walking event. We had the attic room booked however due to very warm weather it was pretty hot. They did relocate us to a cooler room in the property. The hosts were lovely, breakfast was good and all round atmosphere was excellent.

We booked an attic room as we needed a twin room, weather not the owners fault obviously but the heat was overpowering however they did provide a fan which helped enormously!

What a great b’n’b! We needed to break our journey south from the Highlands and like staying in Penrith, such a friendly town, and were lucky to find a room here on a Saturday night with the Drovers Winter Festival in full swing. We had a delightful attic room, everything we needed, compact but very comfortable. We had a moment of panic when we couldn’t park behind the guest house as it was already full, but our charming host said we could park next door, a reciprocal arrangement which suited us well. As everyone says, the breakfast in the morning was exceptional and set us up for the day - cooked with such care and trouble; thank you! We particularly enjoyed the tank of beautiful fish in the hallway, and the whole house was really cosily presented and so well looked after.

Nothing.

We booked as a group of 3 friends as we were doing a charity walk for macmillan. We had to be at the walk start line for 7:15am. We requested breakfast to take with us expecting a little packed continental breakfast. We were asked if we would like a bacon sandwich making to take with us which was fantastic. We were also given a banana and a satsuma. Which was very thoughtful. Should we decide to do the lake district walk again we will definitely stay at the tynedale again

Warm welcome, very friendly chap. Convenient location within walking distance of the town centre. The room was comfortable and very clean. Tea making facilities with biscuits in room. hair dryer and extra cushions in room. Comfortable bed with crisp clean bedding, space for hanging clothes and drawers. small en-suite with toiletries and lovely fluffy towels. I was greeted in the morning by a lovely lady. Breakfast, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast with honey, cereal and a banana, decaf tea and OJ, cooked items well prepared. Attentive waiting lady. There were some cyclists on a nearby table with full English which also looked well prepared. They were offered more fruit upon leaving as well as filling of water bottles. Small parking area behind the hotel and (road parking at the front parking clock needed 0800-1800 max 2 hours parking.) This didn't matter as I arrived at 1600 and left 0900 so just changed the clock on the dash.

I had a double room located at the front of the hotel (room 1) which, as it was very warm weather had the windows open, this made the traffic noise very loud as it is directly on the main road, however, when I shut the windows I could hardly hear any traffic noise apart from the occasional car with a big exhaust and emergency vehicle. As Penrith hospital is not 24 hour A & E these did not go on all night. En-suite is very small which was ok for me but a larger person may struggle. The hotel does have rooms with separate toilet so if you feel you need more space this may be a good request.

The breakfast was substantial with high quality produce. The room was fine for 1 or 2 nights - slightly inconvenienced by the bathroom being separate and at the bottom of the stairs.

There is parking - but it isn't ample - you have to park one car behind another. If you park on the road you required a pass which only gives you two hours permitted parking. All this is fine if you are not travelling by car.

It was a very late booking because a previous booking had cancelled on us. The owners were very pleasant.

We had to be away early to travel to Scotland to join a cruise and had parked in a position to enable other cars to park without impeding ours. However the other cars had parked so that it was impossible to get our car out despite a deserate attempt on my husband's part. Another resident had to be called down to move his car back the foot or so that was required. Once this was done it was easy to complete the manouver.

Room was very clean and tidy nice shower ( if a little small ). The owners were lovely and friendly very nice. The whole b and b was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was full English with tea or coffe and orange juice, it was lovely very tasty and again the couple were excellent offering more drinks for us. I would stay again as it was very convenient for where we needed .

We were in room six which was in the loft , room cosy as I'm 6 foot 3 with another person 6 foot but was clean and tidy. My only critasism was the beds were not comfortable at all. The springs in the matterass made the bed very uncomfortable. I didn't sleep much at all. But this is the only critasism I have about my stay the rest of the b and b like I said was very clean and tidy.

Needed a 1 night stay close to the M6 en route to Blackpool to break up the journey. Location was easy to find with on street parking. Was given a parking permit for the 2 hours overstay 8am to 10am as we arrived after 6pm when overnight parking was free. Was given the option of 2 double rooms to choose from. We chose a double front facing room. The room had everything we needed. It was clean and very comfortable with a small en suite bathroom with a shower. Tea coffee and snacks where provided, excellent wifi. The accomodation was close to a few places where we could eat. The bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was a fully cooked english fry up.

Breakfast was a little too large for us. Would have been nice to be asked what we wanted on our breakfast as we felt guilty for having to leave so much food. You will definately not leave hungry.

Deepa & Bandula, the charming Sri Lankan hosts of the Guest House, have really created a 'home from home' with their hotel. Both were very welcoming throughout our 2 night stay, & nothing was too much trouble.

Only very minor gripe was that the hot water in the washbasins was incredibly hot, due to there not being any mixer taps - beware ! The electric showers were absolutely fine, though.
