Great location in a peaceful village. Ample parking. Very well maintained property. Very friendly & helpful staff. Very modern & well presented room & bathroom. Nice large shower tray. 10/10 for cleanliness. The owners have put a lot of thought into some very nice little touches like a small refrigerator in the hallway stocked with bottled water and fresh milk. Also extra tea/coffee etc available in the hallway should you need it. A proper Cafatiere with fresh coffee in the room which I have never seen in a B&B before! The evening meals and breakfasts we had were both excellent and very enjoyable (10/10 to both chefs) The food & drinks that we enjoyed were very reasonably priced. The next time I am visiting this area I will definitely be booking a room at the Rose & Crown.
There is literally nothing about this B&B that warrants a complaint.

Faultless. Beds best I’ve ever slept in, food mostly prepared and cooked to order, pleasant family proprietors, superb modern room, breakfasts great, service excellent. We chose this place because it is also very strategically placed if you’re planning to visit Poole, Swanage, Sandbanks etc – it means you can go in either southerly direction to get to your destination rather than worrying about Poole harbour and the 30 mile detour around it all the time. If you’re hesitating – book it! The style of the menus screams “boil in the bag” but it definitely is not and it is the only modern pub we’ve been to that is any good.
nothing.

Access to the bedrooms is up an external staircase, with a spacious entrance hall/landing offering drinks-making facilities and local information, with fresh milk in a fridge. The bedroom was light and welcoming too, with kettle, coffee jug, biscuits, mugs etc, and two bottles of fresh water. The superking bed was a bonus, with a very comfortable mattress. The shower was a good size and worked well. Breakfast, unusually, did not have a help-yourself area, but the service was quick and our cooked breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant, where there was a specials list on the board in addition to the printed menu.
There was a 10.5 tog duvet on the bed, which was much too hot for August and we didn't sleep well. Previous occupants had evidently sweated too, as the duvet itself smelled of stale sweat, which had permeated through to the duvet cover. The toilet seat was loose and swivelled sideways when sat on (a downstairs toilet serving the bar/dining room had the same problem).

Booked as close to port, and our usual hotel was full - however am so pleased it was, as the Rose and Crown was a lot nicer! Super comfy beds, very nice shower room with good pressure and lots of hot water, with everything spotless and up to date. Bonus was the several little touches that I really appreciated - such as nice soap and shower wash, real milk for tea and coffee, with the ability to have as much tea and coffee as desired without having to request more, there is also a water machine in the hall, with bottled water also available (all complimentary for us to help ourselves to). The towels were larger than many hotels, and soft too. Parking was dedicated for each room, and had easy access. Added benefit was the pub / restaurant downstairs- really enjoyed my evening meal, and breakfast (included) was large. I was initially concerned it might be noisy as we stayed a Saturday night, but didn’t hear a thing! Will definitely stay there again and recommend to others.
Absolutely nothing! Almost unheard of for me not to have something to suggest….

Lovely clean room, really comfortable bed. Lovely idea having a fridge and water available outside the room at the entrance. Fire escape type stairs to reach the rooms so it wouldn't suit everyone. However, it was perfect for us, with a great location, not far from Poole and the ferry terminal. We only had fresh fruit and yoghurt, along with toast for breakfast, so we could not comment on the cooked breakfast. Our breakfast was very nice. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here.
The communal fridge could have been checked more frequently and restocked.

Thus place is amazing, staff pleasant friendly, room amazing facilities fantastic. Food really nice especially breakfast. Love the fridge with water and milk on the landing. This place really exceeded our expectations, arrived on the Friday night which was a quizz night and they were fully booked but they squeezed us in and even moved a table from another room to get us joined in the quiz. From the minute we arrived we were greeted with friendly pleasant staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Definetley be returning Thankyou for an amazing stay
Nothing everything was outstanding

There was a warm welcome at the Rose and Crown. Large room, feels more like a boutique hotel. Large bed with great linen. Excellent powerful shower. Complimentary fresh milk and water were nice. Good quality pub food in the restaurant. Was busy for a Tuesday evening when we stayed and there was a good atmosphere. Heather and Marcus kindly let us have breakfast slightly earlier as we had a ferry to catch. Would definitely return. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had the windows open so there can be some road noise.

Warm welcome, comfy bed, good food and drinks, excellent breakfast. I liked that we had allocated parking for our room. Also cold water and a fridge in the hallway outside the rooms. Room was modern and much nicer than expected. We were there Sunday evening and enjoyed a delicious roast dinner. We were very grateful for an early breakfast (pre-ordered) as we were catching a ferry. The village is good for an after dinner stroll, there's a Tesco express and another nice pub up the road. I'd definitely stay here again.
Nothing.

The full English Breakfast was outstanding. Hot, tasty and filling. The coffee was some if the best I have tasted for ages. The room was very well appointed and both the main room and bathroom were modern, very clean and spacious.
The room was cold upon arrival and although the heating was tweaked up it remained cold throughout the stay. The bathroom in particular. Entry and exit to/from the room was well conyltrolled security wise. The access steps as the side of the building is hidden from the main building and although lit could be better secured by CCTV (if its there I couldn't see it) Access to rooms for people with mobility issues would be a problem

Comfortable, fully equipped and nicely decorated room with amazingly comfy bed. Warm and welcoming staff. Fabulous breakfasts and evening meal. Good tea making facilities in the room and it was a nice touch to have additional fridge for water and milk in the communal area.
Only miner point was the size of our shower (room1) which was a bit tight. Though the bathroom was fine , with good products and the shower was powerful
