quite surprised about this hotel, been a world master traveller after travelling the world over the last 25 years i thought i`d seen it all but this place ticks all my boxes. Was given a room right next to that magnificent river Thames, so much so i rarely left the room as everything i needed was just there, just a few steps from the river, having the patio doors was able to pop out for food and groceries just round the corner. As the hotel is about 10 miles from the city of London, u can see the red lights (yes red) of the city at night. Here for 5 days and enjoyed every minute, the place is covered in scaffolding but the room and that location were surperb.

Hidden gem, property sits directly on the Thames and is just a short walk from train station, staff were very accommodating, parking was free! Lovely bar attached with beer garden next to Thames. Room was perfect size, check in & check out was very simple. All of this into consideration serves it as a great value for money, would definitely return next time visiting London.

Room didn't get serviced as we were inside at the time the staff attended, however this isn't a huge issue and is understandable from the hotel.

separate building. great location with a river view. spacious room with facilities ie heater, fan, tv, tea and coffee. peaceful.

my first impression when I pulled into the car park was oh no. the exterior looked like a prison. the windows of the building facing the car park were heavily armoured as though it was empty. the number code to the annexe was dark and made it difficult to put the number code in due to poor lighting. advertising boards or hanging baskets brighter colour rather than grey would make it less intimidating. once inside I was pleasantly surprised

Privacy, very little noise. Excellent parking facility much better than I expected. Excellent staff. The room I was in had potential security issues- being on the ground floor with the door opening outwards was a security risk for me but no one broke into my room and staff didn't come into my room when I was away which was my no1 priority. My second time of staying here and it is better than the 1st it feels like home.

Security could have been better. No issues actually occurred but the potential was there. The door to the room could have been fitted better the bolt of the lock was exposed and this is where the security issue lie.

Double room for £45 with private bathroom . Room was huge. very clean. Nothing was broken . Bloke at reception was so polite and non judgmental (we looked pretty rough after a weekend of boozing ) . Bed was HUGE everything was amazing the view was lovely …£45 .. mind blown. cheapest in London is around £50/£60 and you can guarantee it will be the most disgusting tiniest room you’ve ever stayed in (in my experiences) So well done to this place and them man there .

There wasn’t enough sugars or milks for the tea in the morning but that’s a minor The young locals coming in an out of the bar whilst standing at reception was kinda awkward but thats literally my own insecurities and no one else’s problem so can’t count that as a bad thing

The Royal Hotel was ideal for my 1 night business trip. I had a ground floor room with a view of the river (Thames). The TV was a good size and modern. The bed was a king size too (nice surprise). I didn't eat in the hotel but the bar sounded lively. Car parking was a little tight . Good value for money considering it's on the edge of London.

Car parking was a little congested. I was luck to find a parking spot. It's a little far from local amenities too but that wasn't too much of an issue.

Very friendly and considerate staff. Being 70 years old, I especially appreciated being allocated a room on the ground floor near the hotel entrance. Room was very clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom. Overall the best budget hotel in the area and very good value for money. Lovely Riverside views. Short walk to the train station and buses stop outside. Very much enjoyed my stay.

Not much. A few small improvements would make the room even better, like a larger hand basin with shelf above for toiletries etc. Thicker, darker curtains would make sleeping easier as the room is next to the very brightly lit hotel entrance and car park.

When we arrived we heard loud music being blasted out and did winder what our night had install. After visiting London Central and getting back to the hotel the music had.finished and we had one of the quietest nights sleep in a hotel for a long time. It was comfortable, quiet (eventually lol) and clean.

The room could do with a bit of a makeover but nothing too drastic. Change the bath panels to something not made from mdf which really isn't the best to be used in bathrooms around moisture

Quiet area right next to the Thames booked a river view thought I might see some ships .didn't see a single one . Not the hotels fault lol nice hotel would stay there again . There isn't much to do near the hotel train station about a 5 minute walk not far from the Dartford crossing

The room I was in had extremely creak floorboards . Apart from that nice hotel would recommend it

The staff were very helpful. I had a room upgrade which I discovered when I went to my room. A very nice surprise. The restaurant is not open yet, but I could order food and eat it in the Bar or my room. I had a lovely stay. Thanks 😊

The rooms are a little tired looking. However, they are due to be refurbished.
