A fantastic stay, cannot thank the staff enough for the very warm welcome, and all my needs were met. The location is great as you can jump on the tram which is 2 mins walk away and get into the city centre very cheaply. The rooms were nicely fitted and well looked after

Probably only two small things I could point out. One is the balcony door did not seem to shut or lock correctly, as the balcony area is shared this did present a small worry. And at night, as the location is near a busy road, you can still hear the hum of traffic, however I knew the location when I booked so was mostly prepared for this. Perhaps if the balcony door could be fully shut, the soundproofing would be better.

Absolutely everything!!! The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable for us (1 adult, 3 children). The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Especially to families woth small children and pets. The restaurant also served delicious food. Which was perfect after an 8 hour drive. The swimming pool, steam room, and gym are compact, but pack a punch. The kids and I enjoyed splashing around and relaxing after each day in the city. The tram is a stone throw away from the hotel and makes for quick, cheap travel to and from the city at only £20 for 3 days for all of us. As well as the tram. There are tesco, aldi, and home bargains across the street for anything you may need. As well as a KFC and Krispy Kreme doughnut shop. Parking is also very cheap at only £6 per day if you sign up for the membership, which is completely free. Earning you points for future stays, upgrades, etc. We will definitely be staying here again when we next venture to Edinburgh!!!

There wasn't anything to dislike!!!

The staff were nice, helpful, and professional. The room was pretty big, with good sized beds and a big window. All the appliances were in a good working condition and everything in the room was clean. And the breakfasts were VERY GOOD. Also the hotel is right next to a tram station, so don’t be intimidated by the distance from it to the center of Edinburgh.

The floor in the shower was slippery, and if you used a shower gel/shampoo/conditioner and it got on that floor it could actually be dangerous. Luckily we found the rubber mat under the sink before we got hurt, but there was a close call before that. That’s just something to watch out for.

Breakfast was absolutely delish, I loved that it included a few Scottish treats! My bed was so comfy, and my pillow was the best I've ever slept on, I would love it if someone could contact me and tell me where I could get one the same, I looked at the pillow but found no labels, I thought I could easily find one online the same, but I've failed too, so please let me know! we used the pool and spa twice and loved it, would have liked robes and slippers to wear down to the pool area, like in other hotels I've stayed in, loved that it had a mini fridge, the hotel staff on reception were excellent and saved us some money on car park by becoming a member, and gave us extra teas when asked.

tv programmes available were poor, no menu on the remote, tried to log in to our iPlayer and it wouldn't work, assume this was to do with no internet access. would have liked to have been able to order a film and watch it with my family. we had a room for four, but only 2 mugs were supplied, 2 towels, 2 glasses etc When we asked for extra it was supplied so not a problem but I think this should have been thought of beforehand. robes and slippers for going down to the pool, I've had this in other hotels and this is such a good idea if if you have a pool.

Easy access to Edinburgh city center with the tramway. The swimming pool was a definite plus, the water is warm and it is a great way to wrap up a day, especially when you are travelling with children. The staff was very nice. Excellent breakfast.

Our room was supposed to fit 4 people, with one double bed and one sofa bed but the sofa bed was very narrow. I would not say the sofa bed could fit 2 people: its width was for sure less than the standard 140 cm. We managed, as one of the persons sleeping on the sofa bed was a child, but it was not particularly comfortable. Some of the outside traffic noise filtered through the windows when closed, but I suppose that's normal when you are near a busy road. I used earplugs and managed to sleep.

Love the hotel. Comfortable room, bathroom came with bath tubs which is suitable with family of 4 with small kids like us. The hotel is (very) close to stations (5-10 mins to city via train). The kids really enjoy the swimming pool which is warm (steam room is nice too!) No booking needed and it was not busy during our stay. It also close to the retail park (tesco, b&q, halfords, decathlon). Overall, recommended for a family of 4. 🙂

Nothing. But yes to manage other expectation, 1. Parking need to be paid. Cheap rate if you become a member! 2. Yes. Bathroom door can’t be locked. I just need to remind my kids not to open the door when someone is using it. 3. Breakfast. The bakery, coffee all nice but we could not enjoy much as we have a bit of limitations on food.

This was my first time staying in a big hotel like this. The staff was very friendly and nice, when I arrived in my room I had two issues, I found a dirty pair of underwear on the top shelf of my closet and my chrome casting didn't work. The staff was quickly to help me out with those two issues and even compensated me with a few free drinks. The room is spacey, with a fridge and tea set with kettle ontop so it was easy to make some tea as they provided the milk, cups and teabags. The view was nice, eventhough I was on the first floor I could still see the mountains/hills peek over the KFC and Krispy Kremes across the street. The breakfast was nice and you had alot of options, they did vary a little bit as one day you could get pancakes and the next day you had haggis and bloodpudding, all in all you could find something you like. Breakfast is a self service one. Connection to the hotel is good too, you have the tram that connects you to the airport and city centre, you have ScotRail if you want a quicker connection to the city centre, and a bus route. You have a retail park near the hotel where you can get some drinks and snacks to consume in your hotel room if you are a late night owl like me. The hotel has a pool and gym and if you are lucky the pool can be empty so you have the pool all to your self. I haven't used the gym though but it did look clean. The pool also has a sauna which is good for your skin etc. The bar next to the restaurant is nice too, as I had two vouchers for a free drink I decided to go down there, the options of alchoholic beverages and soft drink is quite big, I don't drink alchohol though so I sticked with coke and ice but if you do enjoy some whiskey or wine then I am sure they have something for you.

The toilet didn't flush that nicely, I sometimes had to flush two times just to flush down toilet paper I used to clean the seat off. It has to do with the button itself I think as you have to press quite hardly on it.

We were able to get in the rooms quickly. We were able to get a room with a tub, a great comfort after 2 days of our flight being cancelled TWICE by British Airways. We loved the mini milk containers in the fridge. Nothing can beat making oneself a nice cuppa after a long day outside. The teenagers looved KFC and Krispy Creme at the foot of the building. We also realized there was a whole shopping mall at short walking distance where we could have spent a few hours. Will tick that during a future stay. Loved the Hansgrohe plumbing, excellent quality. The bathroom decoration was lovely, classy. The young reception clerk, Kate, could not have been lovelier and more helpful. She is a keeper. And the night reception was very helpful as well.

There is no air conditioning in the room! Wake uuuuuup! It is global warming for you! It was a sunny day in July day and we were quite hot in the room. I can t imagine how the room will be in August... Is it because French people do not use air conditioned and thus the French Accor group, which owns Novotel, does not believe their customers will enjoy the air con? Big mistake gentlemen! A damp, hot room is very uncomfortable at night. Install air con in your hotels!!! Sil vous plait !

Ideal location if travelling by train as its literally next door, KFC is opposite to which is handy . Not being funny by saying this but there's no English/Scottish work there its all foreign workers which hats off to them really as no English or Scottish must want employment there . Nice entrance smart in appearance. Rooms ain't too bad cheap amd cheerful really. No booklet to explain anything at all..I could t work the lamps there as had no switch. No pen or pad for writing..bathroom is nice I travelled alone and room cost me 125 quid which if 2 of you went half's then you can't be robbed really

Rooms are quite small but there were 2 beds in it other than that it's fairly decent place.

Very clean hotel with helpful staff. It's not central but on the main tram route from airport to city centre and the tram stop is 2 minute walk away. The food in the bar was good quality and the kids enjoyed using the pool which was a bonus. Very good value for money - we paid just over £100 per night at the time of booking.

Breakfast wasn't included and was very expensive - £17.95 per person. We got the tram into town for breakfast instead where it was much cheaper.
