Everything. From arrival the host was fantastic (I'm sorry I can't remember your name, I met so many new faces this week), she showed me to my room, explained what was around the area, and was very knowledgeable. The hotel is very close to the park and ride that takes you in to Salisbury for only £3.50 adult return. I was informed that their restaurant and bar were currently closed and was offered the choice to purchase a breakfast bag, which I did and it was full of wonderful things, some of which I took with me. Although the hotel is right next to the main road, the noise wasn't unbearable and ear plugs were provided if necessary (luckily I'm hard of hearing so didn't need these). The bed was comfortable and everything was clean.

My only criticism, and it's not even that big of an issue for me, but the ceilings are very low because of the style of building so someone taller may find it a struggle (I am 5ft6 so I was fine), it's enough though for a stop gap.

Our hosts, Tia and Dan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. We had conversations every evening about what to see and what to do in the surrounding area. Dan in particular was like a verbal, informative extension of our bucket list for the area. We treasured his local knowledge. Thank you Dan. Thank you Tia for being the gracious host as well as the energetic, bubbly cheer leader. Mark and Linda Atwood Nazareth, pennsylvania

The hot water took longer than expected...no big deal really. Take your time getting used to the unique 200 year old home with the quirky slightly uneven floors. We loved it. ⁹

Absolutely perfect for us. The staff couldn't be more accommodating and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and serviced with complimentary biscuits which was very nice. The location was perfect for us too, an easy walk to food etc, but also well placed for day trips to Bath, stonehenge and Salisbury.

The room is on a main road, so was a little noisy with traffic at night, however the complimentary earplugs were very thoughtful and made this a non-issue.

Proprietor was really nice and helpful, room was nice and comfortable and clean. Shame that there is no bar or food available until the owners get the alterations for the place approved, but good luck to them for that, because everything else about my stay was excellent. There are other great places nearby to eat and drink, and the proprietor was really helpful in pointing me in the right direction to find them. Wilton is a lovely village, and the Wheatsheaf is perfectly located.

There was nothing I didn't like about this place. :-)

The quaint old quirky building set near a river, Warm reception by the owner / manager and the offer of an additional bed cover, cutlery etc. for the food we brought. We had been advised that meals would not currently be available to buy on site. Extra touches in room e.g. soft ear plugs (near busy road). Sweets in addition to the expected Tea / Coffee / Biscuits. An amusing poem above the WC :)

A second chair would have been welcome, but to be fair we did not ask as we were just there for the one night. There was interference on the TV - possibly due to the adverse weather or maybe the aerial.

A beautiful place to stay. The room was nice and cozy. It is located between a small river and the main road( there is a fan in the room if someone doesn't want to open the window facing main road). Hostess Tia, was amazing, she escorted me to the room, explained how everything works, provided with information about the area and facilitated additional requests that I had. This stay excessed my expectations. A big thank you and definitely will come back when I am in the city. Thank you for making my stay memorable and comfortable. Maria

Everything was wonderful!

Clean and comfortable. Host very friendly and provided a continental breakfast (additional cost) and plate and cutlery for a local takeaway. Location was fine for my purpose.

External staircase to room would not be suitable for those with accessibility needs. Toilet used a macerator so it was noisy when myself, and any other guests, were. using the bathroom

Heating was effective and most welcome on a chilly autumn evening. Free parking in spacious car park. 3 mins walk from ell stocked local coop with long opening hours. Easy journey into Salisbury. Pretty little river to rear of property. Earplugs spplied (on A36). Able to put fresh milk outside on windowsill overnight. Shower worked well.

Difficult to see numbers on keysafe as arrival was after dark. Could have had better tea / coffee sachets available.

Location was perfect for our stay, staff lovely and attentive, cute little property full of character, lots of amenities within walking distance.

The step down into the room! I was warned about this in the self check in message prior to arriving so this was entirely my own fault but I fell into the room and face planted the floor when I first arrived! Luckily I saw the funny side.. as did my husband who spent the next 10 minutes laughing at me 😂😂

If you could bottle Tia's charm and hospitality you would certainly be on a winner. The young lady welcomed me with such a smile and her customer care and attention was first class. The accommodation and cleanliness was proved as per the reviews had stated and if and when I am in the area I will have no reservations in staying here again. A hidden gem of a place with ample parking and I enjoyed a superb evening sitting by the river in the privacy of the hotel grounds.

When asked what could have been better perhaps I could say if the pub was open but on hindsight I enjoyed the seclusion and being able to park my car safely plus the location did offer other close by pubs and eating places and all with in an easy walking distance.
