Location, good for travelling around North Yorkshire. Room was clean and comfortable but rather hot, a portable fan was supplied.

On the two occasions I paid for evening meal by card (instead of cash) I greatly despised the necessity to choose whether to pre-pay a tip, what percentage to pay or whether to not pay a tip, who on earth pays a tip before they receive the meal or service? having selected no on both occasions I had problems with my meal which had to be returned to be remedied. The waiting staff were fantastic, very apologetic and determined that I should be satisfied. My feeling was that it was selecting no to the pre-paid tip option that caused the problem. Some might say "just coincidence!". Everything else outside of these two incidents was completely satisfactory and I would not hesitate to recommend the Mayfield at Seamer to anyone.

It holds childhood memories for myself. The rooms are spacious, amazingly clean and oh my word the bathroom was fabulous. Good facilities in the way of coffee etc although my husband did say he missed the hot chocolate Plenty of plug socket and coat hangers. We especially loved the addition of an unexpected fridge in the room. Fantastic breakfast with good service and lovely staff in the bar.

Both my husband and myself found the pillows a little flat. We asked for others and sadly there were no options. Our room was on the front and a light straight outside the window lighting up the pub sign did keep me personally awake as I’m a light sleeper. However it did not bother my husband at all. It was a shame our dog could not stay with us in the room as down in the bar it was very very dog friendly.

Room was a lovely size with all needed amenities (TV was perhaps a little small but it was a Smart TV which was great!) Had some nice mood lighting in the room too! Ate food in the restaurant for dinner on the 25th and it was lovely! My partner gave the Yorkshire wrap a 10/10!

The only complaint I have, which is barely a complaint really, was that the smart thermostat was removed from the radiator which led to the room being a little toastie as the radiator could not be turned off (I won't knock any points off for this as it was a pretty easy fix when you know what to do, so I was able to sort that out 😁)

The whole thing..... the staff care and the room was outstanding....very very modern and clean and immaculate... a very beautiful place to stay. Staff poilte and very friendly...breakfast lovely in the morning too...we will definitely stay here again...as good location for us as we have family just up the road in Ayton.... we always have meals here and carvery....the food is super nice too...but we have never stayed over night here before....the Mayfield is at the top of our list to stay again.... lovely friendly pub too and a great outdoor setting and surroundings....with a supermarket just across the road too.... this a must.....absolutely fab...thank you...a

The Mayfield is a clean and well run place, we stayed as a group of 7 after finishing the coast to coast walk, the rooms were modern and well equipped with everything required - even a fridge! The showers were great, lots of hot water and nice and powerful. We all had an evening meal which was tasty and the staff were really nice, especially Peter who really tried hard to make us all happy. Overall, I would definitely rate the Mayfield highly, a very efficiently run establishment. The breakfast was nice and Peter sorted all of us out with what we needed. Well done.

Having stayed here before, I knew what to expect. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Nice to have a smart TV in the room. Shower is a bit tight but had hot running water which is always a bonus. Will stay here again on my next visit.

Shower was small but functional. Restaurant staff didn't seem to be very happy, a few long sad looking faces. Outside area tables were a bit dirty. Didn't seem like there was much in the way of cleaning them.

Food. Wasn’t worth the cost Stupid dish/bowl instead of a proper plate for over cooked scampi Breakfast? Cereals, juice, yogurt and fruit, but I had to source a glass! Coffee very weak. Full English. 1st morning, horrible. Toast on the plate to make it look like a plate full but then it was soggy. Sausage was rancid (full refund though) 2nd morning, breakfast was delicious

Clean, well equipped bedroom and bathroom - all fixtures and fittings were new. Checking in was effortless and there was plenty of free parking during our visit - not so sure that this would be the case if an event was taking place at the hotel.

Not being informed beforehand that the restaurant kitchen was out of action, luckily the sister hotel was only a few minutes walk away. The shower cubicle was very small and a person of above average weight would have difficulty getting in/out and using this facility.

The staff were superb, helpful and friendly. We booked with breakfast included, which was excellent. We had an evening meal on the first night of our stay which was fantastic 10/10. The room we had was exactly as expected with the added bonus of having a small fridge and Dyson fan included. We were driving into Scarborough daily which took 10 mins on pleasant roads. A great hotel that we will definitely stay at again.
