I arrived early and was lucky enough to get a table for lunch and book a table for later that evening. I remember some of the staff from my last visit. It makes a real difference in an industry with such a high staff turnover to have some friendly faces you recognise. The hotel is clean and well presented located just off of the main street in Leven and not that far from the beach, the bar/restaurant is busy but organized being used by guests and locals alike. The food is well cooked and a decent selection is on offer.

Nothing, I have stayed here before, the staff are great, very friendly and helpful.

Excellent value for money for a location that's only an hour from Edinburgh. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, fruit & yoghurt, Tea & Coffee, as well as the traditional full English or elements of. The bedroom was modern and well fitted out and the majority of the wall sockets had USB charging points. There were additional pillows in the room if you needed them. The mattress was firm but very comfortable. The bathroom had an overhead shower which lacked a little in power but still got you clean. The bathroom was notably spotless - no mould at all. The room was cleaned every day of our stay with fresh towels provided and the tea & coffee condiments topped up. The bar / restaurant served a variety of good wholesome food in adequate sized portions and all reasonably priced.

The shower extraction fan was a bit furry and needed a good clean. One of the external windows in our room wouldn't close properly due to the build up of sand & silt - probably a common problem with the beach in proximity, but all the internal fittings of the windows would benefit from a really good clean. The hotel is located just off a main thoroughfare so I'd recommend taking your own earplugs for a good nights sleep.

I booked at the last minute as I had a meeting close by. The hotel was very easy to find with free parking. All the staff were exceptionally friendly! I had an evening meal and the food was gorgeous and arrived very quickly! My room was basic but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really good too with nothing too much trouble for the lovely lady serving. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area! The added bonus of being right by the beach was lovely!

The radiators were on and the windows closed in my room so it was really warm! Luckily I noticed straight away so I could turn them off and open the windows! But that was my only quibble!

Breakfast was good cooked very well. Pastrys delicious. Tea and coffee could have been warmer had to order amd pay for better coffees.

The staff worried about accomodating our party of 10 for food in the evening as the said they were busy but pulled together and we had fantastic food brought out very quickly. Same thing happened again at breakfast were told no need to book but staff were a little stressed when we showed up so i would definitely book in advance for all meals. The staff were polite and worked very hard to please us.

Pretty well everything

One thing that was irritating was the service at reception. When no one was sitting in, the call-bell on the desk got no response And then, when I telephoned the hotel from reception no one picked up the 'phone. This happened twice. On the second occasion I went looking for someone and found a lady in the bar area who asked me if I had pressed the call bell. I told her I had done that a few times. By that I understood that there is a relay to the bar rea but obviously it is too quiet to be heard.

we had booked for 1 night only but decided to stay another night original night was £85.50 from booking.com and we were charged £130.00 for the 2nd night if I had known that was the price I would never have paid that much .

sorry got these mixed up. The staff at reception were excellent especially Jodie I think her name was . The lady that served our food and drinks was amazing can't remember her name but she had shortish dark hair. everyone so friendly

All staff were very helpful friendly and pleasant a real Scottish welcome. We were very comfy the only reason we didn’t give 5 stars on all questions the heating system failed on second night but the staff did everything they could to sought the problem out. We chose not to move rooms that night as we were tired and the hour was very late. Next morning the very helpful staff moved everything for us to another very pleasant room while we had breakfast We enjoyed our stay and should we be in need of a bed in the area we will be calling on you

Can’t think of anything

Clean and nicely designed rooms, equipped with everything necessary. The hotel is located very central, close to the beach and grocery store. Parking next to hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel, that seems to have a nice vibe, but we didn't have a chance to try it out.

Our stay was great. I only didn't like that the shower head was 'immobilised' therefore, it could only be used as 'rainshower'. No elevator, for us it was no problem but might be an issue for someone else.

Room was a decent size, well appointed, comfortable beds. But, in my view, given the location and that it was a GK pub and nothing special, overpriced at £100/night not including breakfast.

Very little. As Greene King places go this was probably the best we've stayed in or eaten in (by coincidence ate in a Greene King pub the night before - not a totally edifying experience, although the kitchen staff were good)

This was a great hotel, it's location, the staff, the food I can't recommend this highly enough. I was traveling with my elderly father and as soon as the lady at reception noticed that he was using 2 walking sticks out room was changed to one that involved the least amount of walking. All the staff were incredibly helpful and professional. The hotel not only caters for guests but acts as an important point of contact for other visitors and locals giving it a real friendly feel.

No it was great.
