The property was very clean had friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the Restaurant and the food was delicious and great value with generous portions.

We were out of our rooms at 1100 and were getting picked up at half twelve, the hotel is completely locked up until 1500 with no bar service or anywhere to sit and wait, we had to sit in the beer garden which has no shelter but we were lucky that it was dry. Maybe this is in the small print when we booked but I think it should be highlighted in better detail.

My husband and I had a 3 night stay, with our small young dog. The plus side was that there was easy access to the grassed area outside so when our dog needed to go outside we could make a swift exit from the room. The room was a good size especially as we had a dog crate. Plenty of storage Bed was large and comfortable, we could control the room temperature which was a bonus. Bathroom whilst a little tired provided hot water and was clean so everything we needed. Breakfast was sooo tasty, plentiful and service was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Thank you 😊

Lovely hotel in a nice countryside setting. Handy for exploring St. Andrews and the Fife coastal villages. The room was very comfortable and there were good choices for breakfast and evening meals. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

The room provided everything we needed but a second comfortable chair would have been nice. Both room and evening meal cost almost twice the price of other hotels were were staying at during our holiday for similar rooms / meals - but Fife is possibly just a more expensive place to visit.

Fabulous room - spacious, well furnished and very clean. Extra towels and toiletries would have added to the luxury feel. Quality ingredients and care taken in cooking and presentation of food. Liked that breakfast was served and no buffet. Lovely, friendly staff, working very hard in the restaurant to have everyone served as efficiently as possible. GM very professional, friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately first impressions were not good. As we drove in we felt the exterior of the property was in need of some upgrading, also reflected at reception. However once greeted by the GM we felt very welcomed and, once shown to our room which had obviously been upgraded, well decorated and furnished, warmed to the place very quickly.

Great central location within Fife. The evening meal we had was exceptional and the array of cottages with their own individual door a bonus.

No hot water from the shower or warm radiator in the Shower Room on arrival. However quickly remedied the next day. Good supportive mattress, however the two pillows provided were unfortunately far too soft resulting in a sore neck each morning. Property could do with some external maintenance. I understand however the inn had fairly recently changed hands so probably on the management’s,’to do’ list.

We chose the Inn to allow us to explore St Andrews and the surrounding area. Being only 6 miles (c12mins) away it is well located on the A915 with quick road links to all the local area/villages. The Inn was bigger than we expected having c21 rooms but there is ample parking for all. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was to a high standard both at dinner and breakfast. There is a large selection for all tastes but I would recommend the steak pie for those interested in...well pies. Our room (no 3) was spacious with ensuite facilities and complimentary toiliteries. Should you run out further complimentary supplies can be had from reception. All rooms are at ground floor level and very close to the main building. Whilst I have seen some comments about the busy road we had no issues getting in or out of the complex as there is good visibility both ways as you leave. Our room was set back so we had no issues with traffic noise. We explored St Andrews which is a beautiful town with good shopping and parked at the course not the main municipal car park. It's free! We played the Himalaya's putting course, see if you can beat 45. We would also recommend the beautiful village of Crail (c19 mins away) where you can park free in the streets. A lovely place with a pottery and nice cafe's but not that many shops so somewhere to enjoy without a big spend.

The hotel on the outside was a little tired and could do with a refresh. Puddings at £10 are a little expensive. None of these remotely spoiled our experience and are merely a personal observation.

All very good with 2 exceptions. First impressions are important and the appearance from the road is not good. Main building needs a coat of paint and sign needs work. Also pricing policy for breakfast is poor. A flat £17.95 is prohibitive if all you want is scrambled egg on toast! Otherwise, as I say, very good. Rooms, staff, food, bar, location value for money (except breakfast!).

We booked this property for somewhere to stay after a meal at the Peat Inn, it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Very big comfortable room with great shower and bath. The host, Mike was lovely and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area and even some history about the hotel itself. St Andrews is only an 8 min drive and the Peat Inn was only 5 mins in a taxi. Would definitely stay again 😊

Handy for St Andrews . Beautiful views from the room . Comfortable bed. Good food . Breakfast cooked to order .

Very creaky floorboards - could hear noise of floors and doors from adjacent rooms next door and above . Would be better with 2 high back armchairs to sit and watch telly in the evening . The chairs provided were not comfortable for longer than 15 mins and we ended up just sitting on the bed . Large crack in the bathroom sink .

We had a lovely stay with lovely friendly staff. T he meals were delicious and well presented. The room was spacious and well set out

only one comment. The floorboards from the room door towards the bathroom and bed side near the door were incredibly noisy. it seemed that the laying down of them was either uneven or no under support. Otherwise a lovely room
