Modern decor, so central it was brilliant. I cannot walk far distances due to my heath. We went to a wedding at the town hall so a few minutes walk.

There is no main light in the room which proved difficult with 2 ladies getting ready for a wedding.. I ended up sitting on the floor with the magnified make up mirror on a table to see. Also parking.. I had to pay an extra £16 to park in a public car park as the website says the hotel has parking it doesn’t. The car park was a walk away and carrying bags it wasn’t pleasant.

Big spacious room with large ensuite, both tastefully decorated. Lovely cosmetics provided. Huge comfortable bed. We didn't eat here but did have a reasonably priced drink in the comfortable bar. Great location. Overnight parking nearby, not too expensive. Highly recommended.

The evening menu was priced, but you have to add vegetables, sauces, fries, etc. to the price. I personally prefer a meal priced as a whole. It all added up quite pricy. I also thought that ot the breakfast menu. In my opinion, I like a selection on offer, including hot breakfast with toast and beverage for one price. This is why we chose to eat elsewhere.

The room was lovely if small, bed and pillows comfy, dinner and breakfast great.

Very loud with a DJ and local crowd of mainly 20 somethings on the Friday evening. Nightmare for residents in the lounge/bar. Couldn't speak or hear each other. Went out for dinner to another restaurant the next evening and saw a couple of residents dining out too. Would be hesitant to return because of that I'm sorry to say.

A very handsome georgian building sympathetically renovated. Staff were great - friendly yet efficient & professional. We'd booked table for supper & preferred to eat in the bar as so hot in gorgeous courtyard, young barman really looked after us. Room & bed was very comfortable with an enormous bathroom. Food was excellent both supper & breakfast - couldn't fault. Lovely lady who checked us in also served breakfast the next morning .....so staff work hard, long hours much appreciated. A credit to the team! All in all a lovely stay - we shall return.

I am struggling to think of something I didn't like!

Absolutely everything! The wonderful welcoming staff, Louis could not have done more for us but everyone was so lovely, Danielle, the young woman with dark hair in a plait, the charming friendly barman who likes motorbikes! Thanks to Housekeeping and the wonderfully spotless room. The breakfast was amazing, the courtyard SO lovely, the atmosphere was beautifully restful and friendly. We loved how central it was to everything. This is a truly well-run hotel,

Everything was perfect, could not fault anything. Why is it not a 4 star hotel?

Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, spotlessly clean, the staff go above and beyond to help you.

The council took away the parking permits for the hotel so parking is an issue especially when the car parks that are around are always full. The side streets are also limited.

Great location, beautiful courtyard with a nice bar and restaurant. We really liked staying here and would stay again.

We had a 2nd floor room with balcony and the noise from the kitchen extractor fan was noticeable, but no big deal as it went off after evening meals were done. The basic buffet for breakfast was a bit sparse, but you could order other food.

Property was really nice and clean and well refurbished .

Tbh it was just the parking situation is very poor and you need to change your car to different car parks according to time etc. though the Grosvenor arms is very much aware of this and expenses most of the parking off the bill which is a nice gesture.

The staff team were very engaged and interested in ensuring we were happy with our stay, a young and helpful group. Facilities were generally very good and the room we were given was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent

Parking wasn't adjacent to the property, a minor negative, however, it was possible to drop off outside, even with the front of the building currently covered in scaffolding for maintenance works we would imagine. A little bit pricey for what essentially is a public house, that said, our stay was enjoyable and comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent and staff very accomodating .My dog was delighted to be given chopped up sausages in a most elegant bowl.

I was not aware there would not be any night porter and as a lone woman with scaffolding up around the front of the hotel where my room was it felt quite concerning as my mobile had no signal. I checked in very late and had to catch the departing staff to be given the wifi code as the direction on the hygenic perspex tablet in the room was to acess it through the QR code which I could not!
