This is a wonderful and stylish hotel. The Eggs Benedict Florentine that I chose for breakfast were beautifully cooked. The Menu is lovely. The wonderful, centuries old dining room was a lovely setting for a delicious breakfast. The friendly service was engaged and helpful. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and kind and the location is fabulous. The building is full of centuries old wood detail and is most atmospheric. My room was immaculately clean with a small but very clean bathroom with a good shower. The bed was fabulous - beautifully soft, white sheets and an extremely comfortable mattress. A set of 4 very plump, White pillows too. A hotel to return to. Excellent service, atmosphere and location.

What a find in Shrewsbury! I've spent 25 years of my life staying in hotels worldwide, and this one exceeded all expectations. Myriam and Ade (the owners), were so welcoming and friendly: likewise all the staff. We ate at the restaurant there in the evening, where Ade is the chef and we really did have the most wonderful meal. The cuisine was good enough for a Michelin star in my humble opinion: what a chef he is. My partner had the pheasant, the likes of which I have never seen before and I had the cod. Both dishes were exceptional. The chocolate and orange choux bun was exquisite for dessert, as well as the cheese board. Struggled to get out of bed in the morning as it was so comfortable. I could go on, but I think you get the gist. Oh, and there is a wonderful bar area with a great selection of cocktails & spirits, and a first-class wine menu.
Would have liked to have stayed longer ;-)

We had a splendid 2 days stay. The property was exactly as we expected and wanted. The Hall has a lovely feel to it and is very comfortable and beautiful. The bed was very, very comfortable. The food, drinks and service was excellent. We were allowed a a very late checkout since our flights were at 21:00 on checkout. This is a very non-standard luxury afforded to us by a wonderful host and gratefully appreciated. I highly recommend this hotel to all. With best regards, Tony

Restaurant food was good and great atmosphere. The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of charm, warmth and character.
Bar and Restaurant are closed on Monday-Wednesday. So breakfast was only had on one morning of our 3 night stay which was not stated in the booking. A smart TV of a decent size could have been included in the deluxe suite. Other than these two points we were happy with the hotel.

Beautiful Tudor building with luxurious bedroom, located in a quiet but central part of the town. The bed was so comfortable! Professional and friendly staff. Lovely breakfast in the historic restaurant dining room. We parked the car in Wyle Cop NCP car park, a very pleasant short walk away. We were really pleased we chose this place to stay whilst visiting Shrewsbury.
Nothing, it was lovely.

Very spacious and nicely decorated room, with a comfy bed and pillows. Lovely hot shower. The staff was very polite and helpful.
A bit too expensive, but price might have been higher due to the Bank holiday weekend. We couldn't try the breakfast as the kitchen was closed on the bank holiday. Parking for one day was £10.

It was steeped in history but with modern decor and furnishings. Friendly welcome. Quirky room. Great central location.
We were only told on arrival that the bar and restaurant wouldn’t be open on the night we were staying (Tuesday) which was a disappointment and would have been a deciding factor if we’d have known.

We booked quite late so there wasn’t much choice of rooms. However, the king size room we stayed in was amazing. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The room was decorated so beautifully and was very spacious. Loved the character of the hotel and rooms. All staff we saw were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast next day was an added surprise was wasn’t sure if it was included but it was really lovely. Would highly recommend.
Nothing at all.

Really friendly, comfortable place to staff. Staff where all great - knowledge and helpful. The food was great, especially the evening meal.
Nothing but a few tweeks could be done. Breakfast- may be offer porridge as not everyone likes cooked breakfast. The Walnut room could do with ‘brighter’ lighting for doing make up, reading, etc

The building was superb as were the lovely couple who own and run the hotel. They stayed up as we were late arriving and gave us plates for the chips we had bought( due to nothing else being open) The bed was so lovely it was hard to get up.
If anything then possibly the coffee could be improved.
